Jinyoung makes post-army return in new drama Police Academy

Former B1A4 member Jinyoung (My First First Love) has confirmed his first post-army project. It’s a coming-of-age drama called Police Academy about a young man without any ambitions who ends up on a journey of self-discovery. As he goes through police academy, he finds mentors and new friends that inspire him to dream and love.

Jinyoung has been cast as the main character, a former hacker and current freshman at the police academy. He lost his parents to a car crash when he was 10 years old, as a result, he had to mature early.

The character never had any great aspirations until he meets a girl who cries tears of anger for failing to attain a gold medal, and only getting second place. Seeing her strikes something within him, and he begins to want to do something for the first time in his life.

Written by Moon Min-jung and directed by Yoo Kwan-mo, KBS’s Police Academy has not announced an air-date, but Jinyoung will join filming once his military service is complete in April.
