Heart is completely annoyed and uneasy and its going on for days.
Fictional world is not able to divert attention - Its temptation not working anymore. So watching 1-2 odd fictional media these days.
Mind is going strong - work more work and more work.
More wealth creation - still not enough - create more.
I think somehow Mind is affecting Heart more and more. Even increasing hunger and greed is making things restless.

2020 - I took good punches. My own foolish acts came back to punch me hard. Still standing and hope to withstand 2020 to positively face 2021.

2020 - Good to see increase in Hygiene standards overall across society. still far below my set standards but i can feel a bit more relaxed for that part.

Ahh December - +ve but this reminds me of -ve act i actively do and it becomes frustration for family members.
I think i had written about it in 2019 December too -
How i had watched 120minutes movie for more than 10-11 hours - It was before Christmas most likely. 1st time ever was i awake for the whole night.
I was always an early bird - so not being able to sleep for whole night was a big thing as mother came every few hours to remind me what time it was.

Festival you participate in - enjoy with your family or loved ones - now most festivals have this or that Religious association and as per our rules we boycott such things.
So a simple meal with family but have +ve wings that somehow connects to a festival are considered -ve and malicious. Yeah, its extreme view. Can't be seen in positive light. But that's how we move.

So for example - Christmas eve party, dinner, shopping, gifts exchange or any activity that financially or spiritually associated with a festival is openly avoided.

I'm part of the rule system and i follow it with heart. No matter the trouble, no matter the losses we suffer, we keep the rules.
Whether someone is emotionally hurt or not, physically troubled or not doesn't matter. There principle of humanity is comes into play. For most its stupid and so -ve but for us it can even be matter of life.

I'm Alive campaign - lost considerable weight. Undernourished, underweight. Can even start own diet regime and sell it to all those teens who are too conscious about it and rake in good money. This looks like good scam. I was even comparing myself with all those slim models. And kept on thinking they had too much mass.

Body is in pinch and with weak body you can't fight and i want to fight in 2021. Less reckless, More aggressive, more greedy, more hungry so to have that i need to get into proper healthy shape and march ahead. Someone cry or someone is no more, Who cares move fast ahead with only objectives in mind. Weak gonna cry and whine and make excuses and point fingers at others the typical facemasks. But those who don't want to be like that will pave their own path.

Happy OT Beanies!!

Still feeling the after effects of Dodo that I'm currently on episode 8 of my Hospital Playlist rewatch with minimal skips. I did watch The Uncanny Counter , which was an interesting premiere week. Hoping this will push me to go back to the current dramas I'm watching because if not, I'll end up dropping it.

November wasn't the best month and that's saying something in the middle of this pandemic. December.... please be good. Also, looking forward to Run On !

happy friday beanies!
lifewise, i have a bunch of tests and projects coming up before the holidays stuff, and a music exam (out of school) next sunday, which i’m quite, quite stressed about. i also am a bit sad that this holiday season won’t be like it’s usually been— we don’t even see family on xmas, but i miss caroling with my choir in school and feeling that xmas spirit. and apparently, i hum quite often ( i wasn’t really aware of this), and i’ll miss my classmates telling me to stop humming xmas music. maybe i’ll do it on zoom calls, WHILE MUTED THO (i already know what @midnightramyeon is gonna say…)

just waiting for break now, and college apps are just NEARLY DONE!! WOOHOO!! my dramas to finish during break are: my ajusshi, coffee prince, into the ring, and goblin.

wednesday and thursday was quite difficult in particular, but after watching ep 1 of into the ring (thank you, @mindy ◡̈ ) and an episode of r88, i feel much happier. i’m also getting a bit behind on r88, i FORGOT how long the episodes were, and i can’t believe i’ll technically be halfway through my rewatch this weekend!! oh, this show… i miss it already T_T

anddddd speaking of r88, the osts and bgms from the show completely dominated my spotify wrapped 2020 LOLOL i knew empty heart by lee seunghwan (featured in r88 ep 18) would be my top song, as i love that song SO MUCH. but lee seunghwan also ended up being my top artist, with me being in the top 0.05% of his listeners (in fact, one of his songs is playing right now as i type this jadfdg). the other songs of my top five were as time goes by by kihyun (r88 ost), with you everyday by deulgukhwa, a girl (소녀) by lee moon sae, and to you by shin hae chul (the theme song)— i think the show’s creators would be pretty proud of me (more likely concerned with my obsession but it’s fine it’s fine). the WHOLE ost and my whole playlist of r88 music (with 36 songs, 44 with local files like sobangcha) MADE my spotify wrapped. lee moon sae was my top 3rd artist, and yoonjin from r94 would be quite proud to learn that seo taiji and boys was my 2nd top artist.

i’m quite stunned with HOW OFTEN i listened to my r88 playlist, but for someone as intense as me, this is the ultimate compliment to me and my fan love, and i’m quite proud of my wrapped this year ◡̈ .

love and hwaiting,
shachi <3

I'm sad that all five notable K-dramas (Birthcare Center/Live On/Get Revenge/The Uncanny Counter/Awaken) premiered in November 2020 isn't fully recapping on Dramabeans (means only four out of five got the first week reviews only but The Uncanny Counter did got the first episode recap only) and on Dramabeans' "currently recapping". :(

All of them got five of my faves, but I'm not dropping it all.

... But this month, I'm so excited to bracing for Cheat on Me, If You Can and Mr. Queen recaps/weecaps!

Geez, the korean entertainment industry has really been getting hit with covid testing. It's one article after another. I've honestly been really surprised how much production (whether it be music, tv, movies, etc.) they still are pulling through. Hope they are still taking safety measures even with negative tests i.e. quarantine for at least a week just in case. Hope everyone just stays safe in general.

K-Pop already hit Covid-19 hardest one. Most of the K-idol groups connected to variety shows/music shows got positive by the Covid-19: Up10tion and Everglow. Also the Covid-19 positivity with a variety show connection (TV Chosun's Ppong School): one of Top 6 Mr. Trot singers.

Despite of BTS and Blackpink's global success, I think that in my opinion, that by this year, K-Pop money might be plungged and still going down due to Covid-19 (with the fan meetings on entertainment continues to turning into virtual presscons or virtual meetings like Zoom).

In Kdramaland, web drama "Lovestruck in the City" was already moved to December 22 and "Undercover" temporarily stopped filming last December 1 and the lead roles was negative of Covid-19. I wondered what if "Mr. Queen" will be moved too.

Warner Brothers announced that all of its 2021 movie releases will be streamed at the same time as any theater release. This is a punch in the gut for theater owners who used to have the first release window of at least a month. In the US, theater chains have lost 91% of their business due to the pandemic. WB decision on distribution to its own streaming company is another nail in the theater coffin.

One oddity in this summer's shut down was the rise of the drive-in theater. Many xurbs and suburbs if they had land invoked the drive-in experience to show movies or conduct worship services. But that was on a very limited basis. With more pay-to-view streaming concerts ramping up, the old way of consuming entertainment (i.e. leaving your home) is rapidly fading away.

I was always a little sad that the drive-in was slowly dying. I remember being a little girl and my parents taking the three of us every now and then as a treat. We push the seats down in the back and all snuggle in with popcorn (even soda sometimes!) and have family time. It was so exciting. Wonderful memories! I'd love for it to come back in vogue.

Wonderful memories indeed. Playing on the swing sets below the big screen. Having a picnic in the car and falling asleep during the third show of a triple feature. Then there was the infamous "Count Yorga the Vampire" scream fest in high school. I so miss going to see movies with strangers but Kdramas are filling the void.

Finally finished the Patrick O'brian Aubrey/Maturin reread that I started months ago. Recommended not only for the sea story action but also for the bits of humor he snuck in and the light he sheds on how things were a couple hundred years ago.

Example: In one book two characters complain about how corpses have risen. No, it's not zombies or vampires -- they are interested in anatomy & dissection, and it seems the local resurrection men were charging London prices for countryside corpses.

In case you are wondering, "resurrection men" were a thing. They helped corpses rise from the grave and launched them into new careers mostly helping medical students learn which bits went where. Don't take my word for it, check the Wikipedia article on grave robbing. Yes, Wikipedia has that.

Christmas came a bit early this year. Normally the company x-mas party would be on a Friday a week or two before X-mas, and they would (among other things) hand out boxes with assorted snacks. This year, the snacks showed up on people's desks a few days ago. As bosses go, the people I work for are reasonably good.

Since my only remaining "job" is to stay late so whoever is working late doesn't have to stay there alone...
... when things are scary (like now) I mostly just sit in my car in the parking lot while I read, browse, and discover that DB really doesn't work well on my phone.

I almost missed the snack box because most days I don't check my office even during the few minutes I spend inside. Could have been messy as some of the stuff was perishable.

Happy Friday! Can't believe we're in the last month of the year! Time has flown by pretty quickly this year, despite everything.

Haven't been watching kdramas lately, but here are some shows that have kept me engaged in the last couple of weeks:

Cdrama

Hikaru no go: A fun adaptation of the famous Japanese manga. Loveable characters and strong friendship bonds. The last few episodes were a bit draggy, but overall, worth a watch.

The Wolf: Currently watching. Th plot moves and I'm waiting for Xiao Zhan to show up. Will have to see if the momentum keeps up.

HK dramas:
The Witness
: I really enjoyed this show. There are some really funny parts and I think it's one of the better TVB dramas this year. I like the actress Kelly Cheung in this drama.

Legal Mavericks 2: Satisfactory, I'm watching because of Vincent Wong. Plot is predictable, but it's not too bad.

Non-Asian:

Emily in Paris: beautiful people in a European setting wearing high-end fashion - what's not to like?

Valeria: SATC in Madrid, commoner version (i.e. without the glitzy clothes or designer shoes). Even the main character is a writer. Easy watch, with some explicit bedroom scenes, so don't watch with kids around.

The Undoing: Watched for Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. Was disappointed there was no twist to the ending. Nothing special, only watch if you're a fan of the actors.

Happy weekend Beanies and keep Beaning On!

Only a week has passed and yet it feels like I came back from a long hiatus!😲The first week on the job is chaos, you say? Add Covid to the mix to spice it up a bit.😎Instead of a nice introduction day all newbies got summoned at headquarters to fetch their laptops and other materials and afterwards we were supposed to figure out how to configure the laptop by ourselves, since we are obliged to work from home. My boss was kind enough to arrange for a permission slip that allowed me to be at the office for an introduction of sorts that day. A distant colleague who dropped by for business took pity on us and volunteered to configure my laptop for me, so I have been successfully working from my bedroom since Wednesday.🏡

How true my alternate timeline story of last week turns out to be. I used to be unreachable, but now I need to keep my phone close to verify server access and I am not allowed to take off my headset because phone calls and meetings galore. IT, HR and I are on a speed dial base already.😉Speaking of IT, my desk has disappeared underneath all the working equipment! 😄My personal laptop had to move elsewhere and has not been used a lot this week, so I am already four days behind on what is going on in Beanieland and in my local social network. I never wanted to pick sleep over you, but my body had other plans.😴

The first formation of my paid internship starts this Monday and will take place 3 days a week until February. I have been warned that it will be necessary to study on evenings and weekends to be able pass the exam, which is a bit of a bummer right when the Drama Overlords have decided to bring back the theme of the month on top of our #2020roundup!😭 I hope I can still write and send in an entry before the deadline this year, but every successful formation and exam brings me one step closer to getting appointed as a civil servant and decreases the chances of getting fired, so I need to go for it!💪

Dec 4 - I cant decide if this year has gone by fast or slow...
Taemin on Delicious Rendezvous and Gikwang back from military duty On Radio Star for my favorite dancers fix! Finished Dodo, MiSoTi’doff, yeah. She was so adorable, he was So handsome, but transparency in a relationship is basic and hiding the truth is stupid. Like 5 years stupid. Money isn’t everything either. Sigh.
I am, however, looking forward to Start Up this week. I also like Awaken. Finished More Than Friends, it was ok average.
Fast year, slow year, its Dec. and where did the summer go but then it was just here. 2020 fog. 🦉

2020 was characterised by unending sameness in our daily routines combined with crazy change on a global scale. So each day blended into each other until time was meaningless. We had no idea how much of it had passed in a fog of nothing with no position markers and it felt like the year would never end. And yet suddenly it was December. It was a strange feeling.

Two of my favorite recent dramas just ended, which is sad enough, but neither drama got more than a cursory mention on this site. Its bad enough not being able to discuss my favorite K-dramas among real world friends, its particularly vexing when they aren't mentioned on my favorite K-drama site as well. Dramabeans is compelled to guess which upcoming drama will be worth covering based on little besides the title and cast. Sometimes they find themselves recapping train wrecks while gems slip by unnoticed.

Since the start of the pandemic, my only wish is for 2020 to end quietly. On the first day of December, my brother was hospitalized and developed complications because he wasn't able to undergo surgery earlier (he was declined admission cause of covid). It pains me that I could not be physically present for him since we are really close. I still have the same prayer, the world is already struggling enough. I hope everyone and all your loved ones are safe from everything.

Good thing I won't remember it in a year, that show was more random than Bertie Botts' every flavored beans.

I’m annoyed mostly with the last minute. I can see the sacrifice of Lee rang. He gave his life for his brother and to him that was the ultimate show of love. He was able to be in a place to that because he was able to experience family with yu ri, and the little boy after Lee youn died . It also lets him move on for a chance at a better life like we saw when he was reincarnated. He wanted his brother to have a chance to be happy

Can anyone try to explain the end of tale of the nine tale? It was good up till that last minute. It completely negates the entire last 40 minutes of the drama? Is he human or not. If he is not then he is lying to everyone.. but if he is how did he retain his power when he said he didn’t have them anymore?!?! What is white writers lately that just ruin the endings of what would be really good dramas? (Looking at you dodo solsol lalal sol)

Hi beanies. It's been stressful on my end here and I'm barely hanging on. I was asked by my parents to help my brother with his studies and it's such a stressful task. I check on him in the evening because I have online classes in the morning and it's so annoying when he is tired and just gives up on studying. I know that this year has been very hard on him but he doesn't understand that if he doesn't put in the effort, dad will hold me accountable. Also my mom hasn't been feeling well these past few days and she seems to have a habit of not listening to anyone. She insists on doing things by herself even when we have told her to wait so that the rest of us can work out what to do when. I'm just tired of people not cooperating with me, not thinking of how things might be hard for me too and just being inconsiderate in general. There is a lot of reading to do in college and I'm just here trying to stay on top of things
