Premiere Watch: Live On
by missvictrix
Time slot: Tuesday
Broadcaster: JTBC
Genre: Teen, coming-of-age
Episode count: 8
JTBC’s new teen drama Live On premieres this week in its Tuesday night slot. This means the 8-episode drama only airs once a week, but for the customary eight-week stretch. Okay, I guess? Live On has a fresh, young cast of idols dipping their toes into acting, balanced with some more (relatively) experienced young actors. We’ve got NU’EST and Wanna One’s Minhyun leading the pack, with former Momoland member Yeonwoo and Victon’s Choi Byung-chang in support roles. Rounding out the cast are some faces you might recognize from other dramas: Jung Da-bin (from Extracurricular), Noh Jong-hyun, and Yang Hye-ji (Lee Jae-wook’s crush in I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day!).
Live On is set in the microcosm of high school, where Jung Da-bin is an SNS queen — but, she also has a big secret to protect. She joins the school’s broadcasting club to find out who’s trying to expose said secret, and that’s where she runs into Minhyun, the club leader. So, is this coming-of-age story going to be swoony and sweet, or are we looking at a darker high school tale where secrets hide crimes and taboos, instead of one-sided crushes, plushies, and heart fluttering cuteness? The trailer doesn’t give me enough to be sure, so we’ll have to wait and see. (Also, in case you obsess over things like this too, the title of this drama is “live” as in “live broadcast,” not “live” as in “I live in Seoul.”)

Is Noh Hee-kyung's drama Live pronounced "live" or "live"? I pronounce it as in "live broadcast," where for Live On, I want to pronounce as in "I live on a lake."
I'm going to watch this. Jung Da-bin has been gorgeous since she was a child actress, and I like the idols as people even if this is Hwang Min-hyun and Choi Byung-chan's first time acting.

Noh Hee-kyung's is "live" as in "live broadcast". The korean pronunciation of the title is Laibeu

Jung Da Bin really has grown up to look like she could be Eugene's daughter. That casting for Wonderful Life was on-point.

Live On (Laibeu On) sounds awkward by itself, but it works if it's a phrase as in "live on television."

I belive the tittle live on referring to the broadcasting club where the male lead is club leader and female lead joins. Probably also to social media since it is gonna be a part in the drama. :)

I really like Jung Da-Bin! She's great. She has chemistry with everybody even if they're older. Her relationship with Choi Min-Soo in Extracurricular was one of my favourite.
For Yeon-Woo..., she was pretty bad in Alice for me. For the boys, I don't think I watched before.

Jung Da-bin is great so I might give this a try. I haven't seen the guys either.
Yeon-woo had nothing to do in ALICE and only a small role in PEGASUS MARKET. She's pretty but I have no idea if she can act. I liked Yang Hye-Ji in I'LL FIND YOU ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY, even if her character was a bit of a brat.

JTBC got break temporarily after tired from the Mon.-Tues. timeslot so I knew that JTBC will be ruled out for Monday because after 18 Again, I think it'll be a reality show or something special movie block. I also knew because of poor ratings of 18 Again.
As for Live On, I think every Tuesday seems like only give a Dramabeans premiere week review because of obscure actors who hadn't known yet so there's a members mostly from famous Korean idol groups who had a smash hits on Gaon Digital Charts (except Victon, who had never reached the Top 40 yet as of this writing... and still hitless).

Uhhh, I'm not really a big fan of idol actors. Alot of times they're worse than regular rookie actors. But its balanced out by actors I think are pretty good. So I'll at least check it out.

I've been pleasantly suprised by the playlist global ten minute dramas so this could be worth a try.
