Are there any newbie in workplace tips? Also how is being pushed to work over time by employers considered for newly hired employees? I think work from home already blurs those lines but where and how should one draw a line? Is "Can do" attitude the only way through?

Hi @wapz, may I ask what country you live in? That can inform these sorts of things. Without knowing more, I’d say connecting with colleagues and observing your new workplace’s culture is one of the ways you can figure out what is considered normal (more difficult in these remote-working times!). It won’t mean that what’s normal is right, but once you figure out what is standard, you can decide how to respond to those expectations.

Hey @mellowarmadillo sorry for getting back late to you. Thanks for ypur advice 😊 I'm in South Asia but I know that the work culture here isn't all that defined, especially for private companies it differs from company to company. As you said I have gathered what is normal for other colleagues that is not working late but they are not new so I do have to be cautious that way but I still at times manage to make my work boundaries. I don't know though if the manager has an issue with me defining them soon though if overwork is prized. Also welcome to DB 😁!

Hi @wapz, it's tricky, isn't it? Every company does have its own culture, and it's hard to know at what point we should be drawing boundaries, especially when it's pretty new. It sounds like you have good instincts, though, so I'd like to think that trusting ourselves in these situations is enough. :o) Thank you for the welcome - I'm enjoying reading people's thoughts about dramas very much, and probably overusing the like button! :oP

I don't have too much to report this week. Probably will be all over the place :p

Work is like an uncontrollable fire hose in terms of workload(thankful and bleh at the same time).

Dramas that I'm currently watching...

Private Lives: Frankly... started fine, but now I feel like I'm just trying to get through it because I'm too far in that I have to see it through.

Start Up: Love this show so far and the K-Drama folks I talk to about this mostly agree that it's pretty awesome!

I can't point my finger on it, but I sort of get the Record of Youth feeling when I watch this show.

Also, I do work in tech, so I think I can relate to Start Up a little more than usual.

I am so looking forward to my mini Thanksgiving break next week, not because I eat turkey and whatnot. But I now have a nice chunk of time to finish all the dramas (K or not) that I have half-finished.

Meanwhile:
1) DDSSLLS: Whoever coined the term 'noble idiocy' is so right. I think I see the ending coming a mile away. And things were going so well.
2) Record of Youth: finished. Underwhelmed by the ending. But the new PBG movie looks interesting and I might watch 'Encounter/Boyfriend'.
3) School Nurse Files: Really fun!
4) C-Drama Wolf: I have no idea why I started watching it but I am done with all 6 episodes. Are there more coming???
5) Search: Um. What? Still watching it though.
