Little Boy - 1315k - 19th November. What a upmove.
1415k - 19 December.
Not so best of a week.
Laptop > Metallic Body > leaking current > giving me slight zap each and every day multiple times > Just had to change the power adaptor
> turned into a game > patience > don't show anger > don't get frustrated > control > calm > and bang goes 1 punch to the metallic body.
1st battle > goes to the laptop
few minor battles > laptop
Better or worse i persisted and was about to have my own taste of victory and then i lost control and 1 more punch to the laptop i lost the whole game. All efforts, all struggles and no +ve outcome.
Lose the game > pay the price
Price > HDD > struggles 3 days to repair and recover logical bad sectors but few physical bad sectors had also popped up and after that > lost all data > files+data+passwords > Intentionally kept nothing elsewhere. In real life, side plans don't pop up to save you so why keep this plan here, it was all in all fun battle with a set price.
Foolish approach with lot material losses. Fun none the least.

Someone steps in, someone left shows the foolishness of people. Only if things were so easy to sort out, solutions right at hand, everyone enjoying life with no problems. Delusional beings. Highly delusional who seek comfort in shortcuts and have always ready to point fingers so as so absolve themselves of any responsibility whatsoever. That's why they are the facemasks. You can do makeup as much as you want, it can make truth run around but in the end facts and truth remains the same. Nothing is gained without reforms and people don't exactly want these reforms. So chair will keep on hosting new ones but overall situation will remain same. That's the present and future for everyone.
I for one don't want to be in this kind of present and future and i openly don't associate with these identities and for that matter don't care about their lives. Whatever they get is because of their own actions and they deserve it.
My trouble is being part of a human society i have to carry baggage of their actions too. So all in all people like us will suffer for no reason whatsoever. That's unfair human world for you.

It was reported this week that Korea's main TV networks will be cutting back the number of 2021 dramas. On average, 10 to 12 dramas are produced per network. In 2021, it will be below 9. TV networks no longer self-produce dramas. It was also reported that drama production budgets will be cut meaning that there will be less highly priced stars leading projects.
Yonhap News reports the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the trend toward mobile-based binge-watching of content, e-commerce firms, like Coupang and online portal operators, including Naver, have revealed plans to break into the highly competitive streaming market. Naver, South Korea's No. 1 online portal operator, has been also expanding into the entertainment sector by joining hands with entertainment and logistics titan CJ Group. At the same time, Kakao, the operator of the biggest chatting application Kakao Talk, has come up with plans to invest 300 billion won ($268.8 million) by 2023 to produce original content for its live-streaming channel Kakao TV. It has started with reality TV shows.
Netflix, which launched its service in South Korea in 2016, got a head start in the country's online video service market, with its paid subscribers topping 3.6 million as of October.
Wavve, led by terrestrial broadcasters like KBS, and tving, run by entertainment giant CJ ENM, have also made their presence felt thanks to their original shows and drama series that are popular in Asia. In July, Coupang, a leading delivery service provider in South Korea, acquired Singapore's streaming service operator, Hooq, a joint venture established in 2015 by Singapore Telecommunications, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros, as a way to diversify its business portfolio.
Less productions and more local distribution channels will mean that it will be harder for international fans to get new k-dramas.

It's a good way to see it. Personally, I don't watch even a 10 or 20% of the amount of dramas being made per year (let alone watching them live), just because I don't like most of genres. So, even now, even being an international consumer, I am a very poor consumer😂😂😂😂😂
So, I can only hope those who were trying to get a job in the field or will lose a job in the field, due to less dramas.... and I mean those who really need their income, I don't care about millionaires, I hope they will find a way to survive.
Thanks, covid.... You are running so many plans😒

I, for one, welcome this cut because I have a huge backlog of dramas on my watch list that I still need to get through. I was planning to binge three finished dramas before the Bean Count in early December, but we're already halfway into November, and I'm not going to make it.

Don't worry, regardless the mode of production or the distribution media, they would still try to sell the content to international market. Why limit themselves only to local market if they can stretch their revenue stream further?

Thing is, Warner Brothers and Universal Entertainment have signed deals with CJ E&M and Wavves to distribute and produce their own K-dramas recently. So while there's going to be more places/opportunities for us fans and the actors!, it means more money and stretching us fans out as a result.
Netflix Korea getting a head start was really smart, enabling them to work with the biggest stars/writers. Plus AppleTV+ with Pachinko, is also starting to get their feet into Korea when it releases, with also Lee Sun Kyun (Mr. Robin) coming soon. UGH!!

yeah I really wonder what this means for us international watcher in the long run. what it means for asian dramas streaming sites like VIKI. Would be sad if they gonna struggle with this deals as they are now the only longest running streaming sites that is reliable in my region. I hate that every sites is fighting over dramas and make it only on us...I think many more gonna use illegal site because drama not being available in your region or simply not enough money to spend on all streaming sites...

Viki is owned by a billion $$ company, yet they don't pay their subbers, any who I digress. But yes, it's giving me Dramafever shades. IQIYI has also popped up a lot lately too. Such a shame, I know more revenue is good, but too much greediness is gross. Hearing that next yr, fewer K-dramas will be produced is also something to think about...

happy friday beanies!!
drama updates: i have 2.5 episodes left of BTIMFL, and i DON'T WANNA LEAVE!! asfghfs specifically, i do not want to leave lee minki, and am dreading finishing the show just for that reason.
i told myself i would watch one episode of my ajusshi on monday, ended up binging 3 eps, and now i've finished 5 episodes in total. the drama is just so interesting, and idk i can't really put it into words what i like about it? it's not super funny, but i always smile at funny scenes, it's just very heartwarming, and when i watch iu or lee sunkyun walk the streets alone, i almost feel like i'm cold too. i think binging the show has made me a bit sad, so i think i'll space out the episodes more.
my reply 1988 rewatch is going great, it really makes me feel so happy! i thought i knew everything of what happened, but it's honestly like i'm visiting old friends. plus, i pick up on easter eggs now, which is fun. gonna watch ep 3 today, excited for the sobangcha dance!! and to see oppa again, ofc ◡̈
life updates: well, covid numbers are rising like crazy, so i'm happy i saw my friends last week bc i've put myself on lockdown now. school is okay, just screen time is a lot, so i've ordered blue light glasses. and ugh i have to finish my apps due sunday and dec 1, but i'll get there. i'm already 25% done with the school year, which is WEIRD!! i just hope i'll get to spend at least a few days of school in person eventually?? but idk if that will happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
anyway, wish you guys all the best! enjoy the weekend!

@midnightramyeon Is this ok? Or should I delete 'my'?
Guardians of the Late Night Ramyeon
November 14, 2020 at 11:40 AM
@mmmmm Your instinct is correct, you should delete "my" - that makes it sound more... late-night adult level, if you get my drift. (Idiomatic language is so complicated!)
Think of wood like a proper noun/person's name in this situation, no articles or possessives. There's a better term for this kind of noun, but I can't remember it right now.
I'm not sure if that explained it or just made it more confusing! English is ridiculous!
Guardians of the Late Night Ramyeon
November 14, 2020 at 11:43 AM
Oh, @mmmmm, the most common way to phrase it is "knock wood", said after the thing you want to have happen.

Eventually I learned to delay or pause updates. Critical security updates are delayed for shorter time frame. Features updates are delayed for as long as possible.

One problem with learning to delay or pause updates is that you have to KEEP learning. There have been at least two unofficial ways that were better than the official ways (especially for 10-home) but which stopped working after updates.
I can understand why M$ decided to make updates automatic with Win-10 so people who didn't pay attention would get them, but they also went out of their way (repeatedly) to stop people who do pay attention from having any control. Inexcusable.

On Windows 10 Pro, the way to delay is pretty easy to find for an administrator account.
My Windows 8.1 Pro laptop update process has higher failure rate but OS simply reverses the fail then I can decide whether to try again on a "luckier" day. Update might take a long long time but I'm less concerned about it negatively affecting the computer's functionality.

I finally felt like I'm officially dropped DDSSLS after only ten episodes (T-T) and became my only underrated K-drama of 2020 that ended with my drop. I didn't care how my prediction that Lala will kidnap or Lala's missing but unfortunately the next episodes, she didn't kidnap, I think. Also my reason on dropping this show is the confusion of number of stalkers... I don't know if how many stalkers did affect Lala's life but unfortunately, I felt my loss of DDSSLS and considered DDSSLS as one of the worst titles on K-dramaland. Happy weekend Beanies and keep Beaning On!
Anyone interested in the end of the year review in December?🧐
For the Rookie Beanies among us: a long time ago, early 2017 to be exact, Dramabeans got a new website and made it possible to register. Many lurkers like me grabbed this opportunity to become more visible on Dramabeans, and one way to do that was participating in the theme of the month that our Dramabeans overlords picked at the beginning of each new month. Lucky Beanies would see their K-drama related submissions (about favorite OTP, food, soundtracks,…) get posted on the website during that month. The theme of the month somehow ceased to exist this year, and some Beanies started doing (Music/Book/Movie/K-drama) month challenges on the fan walls, but that also has died down.
Every December the theme of the month would be the end of that year review, measured by the K-dramas you watched that aired in that same year. Basically, this year you should write about the K-dramas that aired in 2020 that you did watch and the impact these shows left on your person, your life, your 2020.
Initially I was not going to bring this up, because the pandemic happened and nobody should have to relive 2020. However, I have been writing about my struggles on OT and in these end of the year reviews ever since I registered as a Beanie back in 2017, and that somehow turned into a source of comfort for me and many other Beanies. This year nobody got spared, so I guess even more Beanies might need that comfort and a space to talk about their struggles right now.
I am not taking credit for this idea, because I am only the nth Beanie to bring this up this year. I could just fly solo and post it on my fan wall, but I think it would be a nice end to this year for many of us if more Beanies participated and helped to establish the rules.🤗

I'm interested because there's a lot of dramas will be coveraged for 2020 end-of-the-year reviews on Dramabeans:
- Itaewon Class
- It's Okay to Not Be Okay
- Do You Like Brahms?
- Hospital Playlist
- Start-Up
... and some had no full Dramabeans recaps:
- Penthouse: War in Life
- Birthcare Center
- Men Are Men
- The Good Detective
- More Than Friends

It's a lovely idea.
In fact, I was thinking about doing something similar to the "drama challenge" we had this year but with 2020 dramas, and I wanted to write a little essay about something very particular about this year's drama.
Whether it's on my fan wall or anywhere else, I would love to share my thoughts about the dramas I've watched this year and how important has this community been for me during this very special 2020.

Turtie, that's a great idea! I was afraid I wouldn't want to look back on 2020, but only a couple of hours ago I scrolled through my Giphy account looking for a specific gif I wanted to share with another Beanie (congrats again, Eazal, he!) and got reminded of all the dramas that helped me cope with this weird year... I watched so many dramas that I'm not sure anymore if they helped me keep my sanity or just finished breaking my brain for good 😋
But let me go down memory lane! I'll just stick to dramas aired until summer. By early 2020 I got so many fuzzy feelings watching When the Weather is Fine, A piece of your mind, Mystic Pop-up Bar, and My Unfamiliar Family! b>Hyena was fun, Kingdom 2 deserves a cinematography prize for that frozen lake battle scene alone, My Holo Love was a really endearing trope-salad, and Extracurricular was intense and a bit left-field. I watched Itaewon Class already in the autumn, some months after airing, but that underdog crew and the power OST deserve some love! And, of course, the big productions: Crash-landing on Youand It's okay not to be okay were eye-poppingly pretty and polished, and full of cute side characters.
And then there was The King:Eternal Monarch, which I liked beyond any rationale, and giffed intensely, but, hey, this has been a hard year!
So, yeah! I'm totally up for a December drama round-up! Let's all re-spazz at out favourite moments, I'll definitely need a mood booster for the end of the year, taking into account that where I live we're quickly sliding into a new lockdown *sigh

I think it’d be a nice way to round off the year! I actually live watched dramas this year which is not normal for me but I’m not sure how many I finished - CLOY (which seems so long ago it’s hard to believe it was this year) and Mystic Pop Up Bar might be the only 2020 dramas I actually finished (as opposed to dramas I finished in 2020 of which there are many, many more).

@magajesj @carlybisek @mrsz6 @eazal @hcatfan @ndlessjoie @flyingcolours @beffels @parkchuna @midnightramyeon Wow, thank you for the enthusiasm and the suggestions!😀According to the rules up to last year, only 2020 aired K-dramas would qualify this year, but upon reading your replies I found that rule rather restrictive. It excludes Beanies that did not watch (many) 2020 K-dramas or did not find them that memorable. I can imagine how much harder that must be for rookie Beanies who are still trying to fit in here. I probably will write one essay about 2020 shows because I have enough to say on the topic, but I might also include the memorable older shows that I watched in 2020. Some Beanies do not write essays but showed their talent during the fan wall challenges and I am curious to find out which throwback one-liners they will come up with!😀 There have been good things this year, reminding each other of them might help end the year on a slightly better note.😉If it is just us we could use a hashtag on the fan wall and tag both the participants and the readers? I am up for better suggestions, though. Organization is not my strongest point.🤔

As I said before, I have an essay in mind, just have to work on it. I have a month, hehe.
My ideas for only airing dramas, would be something like this.
- male / female lead you loved the most.
- male / female lead you just couldn’t stand
- the drama you wish had a different ending
- the drama you got couldn’t finish
- the drama you finished just for the bean
- the drama you know you will rewatch
- that OST you’re obsessed with
- the OTP you didn’t think you’ll adore
- the drama you watched just because and end up loving
- the drama beanies convinced you to watch and you can’t be thankful enough
- the crush you discovered in 2020
- the “oldie” (like not 2020) you loved the most

100% would also def. recommend on par with My Ahjussi.
My Ahjussi and Mother are the only Korean shows I have every watched that has superb acting, writing, and directing. But what makes both these shows so beautiful and masterpieces, are the two central relationships in this show are so strong and never wavers.
Whereas, other shows the main pair would break up b/c of misunderstandings, but here the love each character has never wavers and always beautiful. I've never seen such a beautiful and incredible relationship that the central pair have in My Ahjussi/Mother in any medium of show EVER!!! In K-dramas, I haven't seen something like their's since :(( and prob. never will since these 2 shows are in a class of their own!!!

Look K-dramas can get a bit soapy/preachy at times, but when they know how to gut your emotions and hit you where it hurts :(
It must be a superpower/formula the writers/PD have, its astonishing lol. I think compared to American shows, K-dramas got the heart/inner reflections a lot to conjure up our emotions more.

I'm eagerly waiting for Start-Up new episodes this weekend.
I loved DDSSLLS still. It has many heart moments, and those small heart-warming moments brought me ultimate joy. It's when I was reminded that best gifts normally come in small packages.
I made Jjapaguri for the first time yesterday. It was pretty easy to make though I forgot to boil the water first before I put the noodles in. The noodles so became a little bit too soggy, but it was still very delicious and has unique flavour.
I'm unavoidingly drawn to the actor Kim Seon-ho. I slept pretty late these days not because I had to prepare for work the next day, but because I couldn't help myself stop searching for everything him. He is indeed a very interesting person. He is also very funny and charismatic in 1 Day and 2 Nights.
Oh.. if Ji-pyeong is gonna be heartbroken one of these days I'll be heartbroken too. How am I gonna cope with that?

Hey Beanies, and happy Friday!
It's been a rough week at work. How to tell one's boss: "It may not look like it, but I really am trying so hard to move things forward!" I'm struggling not to sacrifice my general well-being to the giant soul-sucking imoogi behemoth of futility that is the Corporation, but it seems that all "support" functions (and those "" contain all the sarcasm they can hold) are designed to be as inflexible, inconsistent and calcified as possible. I should have stayed home and married the boy next door, I guess. Got some cats, learned to garden and enjoy life, etc.
Anyway, with lockdown still in full swing and no real end in sight (if I read between the lines of the PM's recent speech), I have at least been reading a book that makes me laugh out loud; enjoying my Korean class, albeit now moved online; started working on a new embroidery project-as-present; and caught up with my little nephews back home on FaceTime (one being VERY verbal, the other making up for his limited but solid 10 or so intelligible words with oodles of 22-month-old enthusiasm and barely-curbed desire to instantly press the red button on any phone he sees).
I know it's going to be okay. But it's just been a little hard. I've been spending a lot of time here this week to add some sunshine to my days, and you guys never disappoint!
Stay safe, be well, happy watching and happy weekend to all!

Happy Friday, Beanies!
This week I decided on purpose not to watch any Kdrama or whatever video on YouTube, except those on stretching because I am continuing doing some yoga and stretching and light weight lifting and stuffs... at home, since all gyms are closed due to the lock down.
You see, I am trying to lose weight and finally doing something about it... I am 1,60 meters high (5,24 feet) and my weight has always been between 57 to 60 kilos (125 to 132 pounds), but according to whatever nutritional statements I should be thinner. Also, my legs are fat, they have always been... 🙄
So, let me tell you, in the last three or four years, I have been in between 60 and 63 kilos, and in the last two months up until 68 kilos!!!!😱
Only once in my life I was 69 kilos (152 pounds), and that was when I was 19 years old and heavily depressed because my life sucked back then. Different reasons, mostly family reasons. My mother was awful.
Now, I just couldn't believe I gained too much weight after I moved, but well, the gyms are closed and I was really frustrated for different other reasons.
At this moment, after being 4 weeks already doing intermittent fasten and avoiding carbs, I am again in 63 kilos. But I have the goal to be again 57. Simply, to be able to wear the clothes I had in college. That's all....
Most of my clothes are right now in the basement..not fair. 😒
I want to wear some of them for the last time, make pictures, and let them go after some 10 or 15 years of service.
Go minimalist, let it go.
But I still need to lose 6 kilos.
Please! At least, give me some encouragement😂😂😂
Next week I will come back to the two dramas I am watching.
Thank you all for being there!!! 😍

There is a state-run free COVID test facility (regardless of symptoms, or not) near me. After it was set up some time in August, every time I drove by the entrance, nothing. No one was going in. I actually wondered whether it was open on weekends with the lack of traffic.
When I drove by the past Sunday, 2 cars drove in. I figured, "Finally!", with the fast-rising positivity rate. Today's TV news showed a 1/2-mile line of cars waiting to enter the facility. If I remember correctly, there is probably another 1/4-1/2-mile drive to get to the actual testing area. (I was there last autumn for a document shredding event.) Luckily I (unknowingly) chose against heading that way on my multi-store shopping trip.
Fortunately all that helicopter noise was about the line instead of like yesterday's car hit by train (driver killed) incident.

I just find it adorable that my dad is watching Start-Up and is on #TeamDoSan! I've given up on recommending him Kdramas before because he didn't like the ones I recommended (Stranger, Signal). My dad is the watch-TV-until-I-fall-asleep guy, and I figure crime dramas require his focus on the dialogue and reading subtitles, so he's not able enjoy them.
I'm thinking of recommending him Prison Playbook next, because he doesn't seem to be into romance like CLOY, DOTS or WWWSK that my mom binged before. Anyway, let me know if you also have suggestions!

Prison Playbook is the perfect one! then Signal, and maybe Tunnel... the latter two are dark.

Agree... Also depending on his personality (more active or passive) Miss Lee would be good for him.
It is a slow underdog drama, not tugging your heart so much, not necessarily making you laugh so much, but very heart warming at the end and somehow in the process it felt very realistic.
None of a love story... nothing like that.
