O ramyun! My ramyun!

When asked if I’d be interested in reviewing the new ramyun-only Noodle Lover BeanieBox, I jumped at the chance — I mean, what’s not to love? I’ve had a blast with the original BeanieBoxes, getting to try new snacks (that I now trawl local stores to find, with some success!) and some fun swag every month. This new box is great if you really love ramyun, because that’s exactly what it is… just lots and lots of different flavors and styles of delicious ramyun!

My box came with eight different ramyun packets of all different brands, flavors and styles. There’s cup ramyun, packaged ramyun, in several levels of spiciness, beef or chicken or seafood or even veggie — pretty much everything is represented. There are even a couple of packages with specialty types of noodles. As with all BeanieBoxes, there’s a colorful brochure inside the box that explains which packet is which flavor (and gives cooking instructions, which is basically just “add hot water to packet contents” for every single one, hee).

Now, nobody is perfect, and neither is this BeanieBox. My main wish, as always, is that I want more swag! In fact this box came without any swag (to be fair, it wasn’t supposed to), but it did have a surprise!package of watermelon gummies, which went a long way with me in terms of quelling any disappointment since I freaking love gummy candy. The brochure also promised two random bonus packages of ramyun, which weren’t in my box at all.

But even without that, I still feel the Noodle Lover BeanieBox is a great deal. I always have ramyun in the house as it’s so easy to make, versatile, and customizable, especially for someone who lives alone and needs to eat but doesn’t always feel like spending a lot of time cooking. But I tend to buy the same brand and flavor of ramyun all the time (Shin Ramyun FTW, right guys?), so it’s fun to branch out and try new things. I had a few flavors I knew I would like — and boy, the spicy one really blew the top of my head off, it was incredible — and I purposely tried the one I assumed I wouldn’t like just for this review, since I don’t care for the flavor of seaweed. But I was shocked, even the seaweed flavor was delicious! So these are clearly quality brands they’re sending out. If the coffee BeanieBox is as good as the ramyun box, I need to try that one next!

We asked LollyPip to review our new Noodle Lover BeanieBox. Each box is full of different brands of ramyun and savory Korean treats so make sure to subscribe by September 16th to get this month’s box. Shipping is free to the United States, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

I knew that ramyun is similar to ramen. So it was a Korean noodles/ramen.

Oops!

Wait, @lollypip, it should be on extras, not drama recaps.

This isn't a drama recap/weecap.

The beaniebox doesn't ship in my region but I've always been curious, is there any halal ramyun out there? I'm obviously PPL'ed by watching kdramas for 9 years but I've never made an effort for trying them thinking that they wouldn't be any halal options at all.

My favourite ramen is Samyang Hot Chicken ramen and all its variants are marked as halal so there are definitely halal options out there. If you have an H Mart in your city, you should check it out - there are sure to be loads of halal variants.

HMart is heavenly, a little bit of Seoul outside Korea.

In Singapore, besides Samyang, our supermarkets stock both halal and non halal Shin ramyeon.

While I like Ramyun (Korean version), Japanse ramen are my all time favourite (runs and hides before people can throw ramyun at me, then realize no one will waste the hot soup on me and comes out)

I ordered the Noodle-Lover Beanie Box on 15 August and it arrived 9 later in the US by DHL on 24 August. Thanks LollyPip for the review because I am embarrassed to say I didn’t realize a cheat sheet came in the box until I saw the image in your review.
Total novice here. I haven’t started on the stash I received. I went to my local Asian supermarket and bought a couple of packages of Nongshim ramyun with English cooking instructions to practice.
I tried spicy seafood and was quite tasty. I am looking forward to trying the various ramyun that came in the box which is very sturdy.

Ramyun *pretty eyes*

By the way, every one keeps swearing by Shin Ramyun, but I never see talk about Ottogi Jin Ramen which is my favorite. I was so happy when it showed up on #Alive. :D

Are there any beanies out there who like Ottogi? I'm a spice-weakling and only ever buy the mild version.

Shin Ramyun is what's available at local grocery stores here so it's my go-to, and my favorite! I've actually never tried Jin Ramen :o But the PPL in #Alive convinced me

Heh~ then I hope #Alive creates enough demand for Ottogi to spread their ramyun supply everywhere. It's super yummy! The perfect mix of spicy and savory.

Mary I haven't tried Ottogi yet but I will keep an eye out at my local markets. A quick search and I was surprised to see this:

Whaaaa??? What is that. Hahaha I'm scared.

But Ottogi makes a lot of sauce and seasonings too. I love their Powdered Curry Mix (again, the mild spicy levels only hehe).
