Sunny’s BeanieBox Review: Yummy replacements

Aside from dramallama, we also asked Sunny to review our October BeanieBox. And though it ended up a little bit different than what dramallama received, it turned out well in the end. (Or is that woonmyeong [fate]?) If you want to receive the December snackbox, make sure to subscribe by December 16th.

SUNNY’S BEANIEBOX REVIEW

There’s been a lot of excitement after the unveiling of the BeanieBox and it’s not unwarranted! I jumped at the chance to sample a box and was sent the October edition.

An email warned me that a few items had to be swapped due to low stock and it hardly made a difference for the snacks. My swag item was replaced as well, and while I don’t mind getting last month’s pop socket (I was definitely jealous of LollyPip’s and am thrilled to have my own adorning my phone) this month only had one swag item.

As this was an October box, I had thought it would have more of a Halloween theme. Thinking on it, I suppose there isn’t really a way to do that aside from swag and perhaps the original item was themed. A missed opportunity, perhaps, but hardly a disappointment. I really like the item I received, but like LollyPip would’ve happily traded in a few treats for another item or two.

Speaking of snacks, though, they certainly do give you a lot! This box had slightly less variety than last month with 18 different snacks, and I’ve been very carefully working my way through them. I was pleasantly surprised to find a bag of Sun chips inside and while the Korean interpretation of “garlic bread” flavor is a little sweet, I don’t hate it.

As an avid coffee junkie, my favorite item was hands-down the Maxim coffee sticks and you can rest assured I’m putting them on my Christmas list. Other notable items were jjolbyung BBQ ramen snacks (one of my replacement items) and the baked potato sticks. I had to force myself not to eat them all in one sitting and plan on putting them in my school bag because I always leave class starving. The most bizarre item for me was probably the choco ttingchok which are like cheese puffs only with chocolate instead of cheese powder and it made for an interesting combo of texture and taste.

Overall, the experience has been a real treat (pun 100% intended) and I look forward to what BeanieBox has in store for future boxes.
