OMG JANG NARA! my first kpop username had her surname in it. One of the singer-actress that got me into korean dramas and music. Non-Stop was where I first saw her.

question to Jang Nara : How do you prepare for a character you're going to play especially if it's very different to your personality? Any previous character you played you think you'd be friends with in life? How about a character you played you don't think you'd be friends with?

Q: if you get a thriller/action story, do you think you would accept it? How will you prepare yourself for it if so?

Actually she played in I Remember You aka Hello Monster starring Park Bo Gum and Seo In Guk in 2015... which was cruelly underrated but very good in which she played a badass cop who wasn't afraid to take some hits... So yeah, already done.

Ah..I remember now. I did see that one, for SIG! And true, it 's underrated.. but I still want to imagine her in a more powerful, action role - both her and Park Shin Hye...

Hi!!! I know that Jang Nara was an idol before becoming an actress. Therefore I would like to ask what was the most challenging aspect of her transition from her idol days to become an actress? What were her Struggles? What was positive about becoming an actress? Does she miss her Idol days? And her personal view on her growth as an actress. Thank you.

This is also one that I wanted to ask. In addition, did she reminisce about her idol days when she was filming One More Happy Ending? What would be her advice to idols who would want to get into acting?

Having worked heavily in both China and South Korea, I'm curious to hear Jang Nara's take on the similarities and differences in the two industries, both in terms of content produced, as well as personal experiences with production.

An Empress’s Dignity has many shifts in tone and genre, something like 10 different genres, compared to a more typical 3-6 genres/tones.
Is acting in AED more challenging or interesting because of this?

From the Beanie perspective, a great cast is one thing that attracts us to a drama, but we also have our favorite writers and PDs. What do you look for in a script or production team, etc. when deciding what projects to work on? What are your thoughts on pre-produced dramas? Are you ever concerned that someone is going to find and steal your Philosopher's Stone?

The philosopher’s stone is a legendary artifact that people believed could be used in alchemy as well as used as an elixir of life, providing its owner eternal youth.

It was featured in a little-know niche children’s fantasy book titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Jang Nara should be on the lookout for a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor with a turban.

I hope she has a three-headed dog.

I'm soo curious if Jang Na Ra had ever felt insecure because of her very young look lol because I do (unless she really intended to have that look). People looking about 10 years than they really are may have thoughts like other people will view them as someone who is less in the know of something (because they look immature). So, yeah what does she think about her appearance, I mean she looks 20 years younger than she really is!

I am really a big fan, Jang Nara. I often change my favorite Korean male celebrities, but top spot is always reserved for you.

1. Your role as Cha Ji-An in I Remember You (Hello, Monster) for me was really memorable because you engaged in action scenes, which I rarely see in your past productions (except for Chinese ones). What preparations did you do in order to prepare for that role? Are you up for action genres in the future? It was also in that project that you had an accident just before the last day of filming. Glad it wrapped up well.
2. What do you usually do after finishing a project? What are your hobbies? --or have you developed one? Because you mentioned in your interview before that you had a dull lifestyle. I wonder why you think it's dull.
3. You met Choi Jin Hyuk in a drama before (Fated to Love You). How does it feel working with him again?
4. In your past projects, you worked again with lead actors, like Jang Hyuk, Choi Daniel and now with Choi Jin Hyuk, which actor or actress do you want to work with again? and why?
5. Which actor or actress (you haven't worked with before) do you want to work with in the future and why?
6. You had an interview with Healing Camp in the past (which I think was one of your best interviews because I got to know more about you personally), you mentioned that you had stomach ulcer, how is your health now?
7. How is your dating life? I won't mind if you wouldn't want to answer this. I think, just the way you are now, happy, regardless if you are single or not or even you're past 37, is more important than anything else. I'll support you nevertheless...
8. What dating scandal in past you find most baffling or absurd?
9. How is your mental health? When I first watched your interview, I wished that I could be your psychologist or friend to help you through your recovery or just be there to listen your concerns. I just hope you're doing well.
10. I'm glad that you sang an OST recently and performed at Sugar Man. It was a touching moment for me. Are you going to sing for An Empress's Dignity OST?

I'm happy that your latest project is doing well. You were recognized recently as one of the top buzzworthy trends in TV dramas according to Good Data Corporation. Congratulations!

I'm looking forward to your future plans and projects! Happy New Year and stay healthy in every aspect!

Wow, this is great news! It's great to see dramabeans teaming up with industry professionals!
My questions for Jang Na-Ra
1. Your character Oh Sunny in The Last Empress is a musical actress, is there a theatre production (play/musical) you would like to star in, or a particular character you would dream of playing?

2. I'm interested to know your thoughts on the Me Too movement and what changes you would like to see in the industry.

3. Do you have any desire to direct in the future?
4. Is there a particular story that has moved you and you would like to share with the public?

5.I can only imagine how daunting it must feel to walk onto a set with hundreds of people, what is your go-to tip to break the ice?

6. How do you unwind after a stressful day?
7. What advice would you pass onto to someone in the very early stages of their career? Is there anything that has stuck with you?

8.Do you keep any of the costumes from the dramas you have started in?

9. Do you have any plans to release more music? What songs are you enjoying listening to at the moment.

10. Can you share some of your goals for the new year?

11. We all have fangirl moments here at Dramabeans! Is there anyone or a drama character that you have fan-girled over?

12. I really enjoyed your performance in I Remember You, it was a drama that stuck with me for a long time. What made you take on that particular role?

Good luck filming The Last Empress, I'm rooting for Oh Sunny to get justice and stay alive!
Wishing all the best for the upcoming year! Jang Na-Ra, Fighting!

Did you know how crazy Empress' Dignity would be when you agreed to do it?

Was it hard to keep a straight face when filming it?

How many times did they have to do extra takes because someone couldn't keep a straight face?

My question will be if she has a chance to reunite with her previous co-stars, who will she choose? I love her with Jang Hyuk to pieces, but is is nice to hear other co-star(s) she wants to reunite with. Maybe Kim Rae Won or Kim Jae Won?😉
