Name That Drama: Bathroom mishaps and a bit of nudity
by HeadsNo2
As always, feel free to email us your questions and requests for future Name That Drama installments.
- Tofu companies should start sponsoring jail-centric dramas, just sayin’
Hi,
I’ve been looking for this drama I watched on TV years ago. It’s about a woman who went to jail, and the drama starts with her coming out of jail and starting a new life. I think the drama was like a melodrama where she wanted to find happiness, but her past haunts her where anywhere she goes and she’s not accepted because she has a record. I don’t know why but it sounds so interesting because of the ‘finding new happiness after jail’ part and I want to watch it again. Please help me!
- Maybe drama cafes should change up the decor a bit every now and then, because this sounds like every drama cafe ever
I desperately need your help. My friends and I are already going crazy thinking about the title of a certain drama/movie. The dilemma started when my friends and I were discussing some Korean movies/dramas that we’d like to rewatch, and then I remembered this one beautiful scene in a drama or movie in which the lead actor was standing in front of a cafe/restaurant (the exterior has ivy or moss creeping all over it) when he saw the leading actress sitting at a table near the window, and I think he snapped a photo of her.
I can’t remember the other details, dumb me, except that the cafe/restaurant interior is woody and rustic. I think there was also a scene in which the cafe/restaurant owner said that he/she remembers the person who’s always sitting at the table near the window. That’s all I can remember. Thank you so much for your help! Appreciate it!
- She was right about the potted plants though
Hi Beanies!
I was in a flower shop the other day and a scene from a drama sprung to mind, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was!
There were two characters – second leads, I think – who went into a flower shop (separately) to buy flowers for other people. The guy is about to get a bouquet when he sees that the girl has bought a potted plant, because she says they’ll last longer and won’t be thrown away(?). He thinks it’s a good idea so he buys the same. I’m pretty sure there were thematic undertones to this scene, but my memory is pretty fuzzy. Please help!
- Now that’s love
I only remember this one scene, but it was a part of a drama where the girl goes into the bathroom and has an accident of some sort, I think she gets her period?
And the main lead is waiting for her and has to go out and get her sanitary pads or tampons or something. I think he might have carried her out? But it was definitely a bathroom mishap. Please help me remember this.
- Two-for-One
1. A bunch of people are murdered one after another, and the investigation team finds out that what they share in common is that they were witnesses to a murder that took place outside a bank. A young girl was stabbed to death in front of numerous bystanders, but no one stepped forward to help. She went up to what I think was the female lead who worked in the bank and begged her to help. They then find out that the father was the one behind the murders.
2. Another drama I’m looking for is one where the male lead was an inspiring artist and the female lead poses as his nude model so that he could take part in a competition. She goes to his house for him to draw, he wins the competition and get his artwork displayed in a pamphlet. It was then unintentionally discovered by the family members of the female. This was in no way an 18+ show and from what I remember it was only a small part of the plot. Thank you!
- Name That Tree
I just finished watching I Remember You, and during the last scene where Lee Hyun and Ji-an kissed, there was a tree behind them. The tree looks familiar to me, since I know I’ve seen it in (at least) one drama.
In that drama, someone asked for a group of gangsters to search for a tree like the one in the picture he has. Under that tree, his father buried something, and he tries to find it. I hope you can help put my mind at ease by helping me name the drama. Thank you for your help!
Thanks for playing, everyone — till next time!

I'm not sure if #2 is Gentleman's Dignity. As I remember it, it's the guy who was in the cafe and the girl standing outside. The guy was waiting for his girlfriend and the girl ran into the shade to get out of the rain.

Same! I thought Signal, but it wasn't the main character. This guy's wife/girlfriend used to go there a lot but then she disappeared and has been missing ever since but he thinks she's still alive and mysteriously sees her there...if I remember correctly

4 may be Personal taste. 5.1 is frustrating though, I remember a lot about that episode, but I can't remember the show. It was a case-a-week show, probably from OCN.

Is #2 Signal? In one of the mysteries, a young woman disappears because she witnessed a murder. But a young man who loved her sees her in this restaurant one day and takes her picture before she can get away.
I know I've seen this restaurant in other kdramas though.

Yes I got Signal vibes as well. But the person describing the scene mentioned it was the lead actor and the lead actress. In Signal, it was a case where the boyfriend/husband (?) of the missing person came to Lee Je Hoon's character and told him he saw his missing girlfriend in this cafe they used to frequent but everyone thought was dead or something. So he wants him to investigate.

It may not have been answered above, the question never stated that it was for sure a K-drama. Also that's not the only K-drama with a prison plot. It could be several different drama's. It could also have been a J-drama called "Itsuka Hi no Ataru Basho de". It had a very similar plot to the description. Young woman goes to prison and when she gets out she is trying to find her own path and happiness in spite of her dark history.

Oh yes no.2.. I remember that scene well too.. its not from signal.. I think its from a movie. He never believed she had died and so rushes in to check but of course she disappears by then.. what i also remember is ,since there were books around in that cafe, he finds the book she was reading and that confirms it for her...
god! now I so badly want to know what movie that was.
or was it a show?.. lol

Here are my suggestions
1 yellow booth - that's the only kdrama I could recall a woman going to prison in.
2 My sassy girl - I may totally be wrong but that's all I can remember about the cafe(even if its not wooden).
4 personal taste or bride of the century - the sanitary pad totally came from personal taste but carrying the female lead out of the bathroom(after she broke her neck) was in bride of the century.
5.1 TEN - am 100% sure of this one because I cried after watching that episode
6 fated to love you - I think it was at the end of the drama but I can't remember clearly.

For number 1, it was never specified that it was absolutely a K-drama. So I don't understand why there are people saying no its korean so its xxx. There are plenty of drama's with a prison plot. If the drama is Japanese then it could be "Itsuka Hi no Ataru Basho de". It was a wonderful drama about a young woman who went to prison and she was disowned by her family so after she got out she was totally alone. She moved to a small city and just wanted to find happiness and move on from her past. She makes some friends and a potential love line but its ruined when a former jail mate see's her and tells the town she's a criminal.

So I don’t understand why there are people saying no its korean so its xxx.
Literally no one said this, though? When you replied to La Plume, all she said in response was that the opening scene of the drama she suggested was a woman getting out of prison (because you didn't mention whether that was the case in either of your descriptions of Itsuka Hi no Ataro Basho de).
This website is pretty Korean drama-centric, so it makes sense that most people would think of Korean dramas that feature a female character who got out of prison (though you're absolutely right that it could be a number of dramas and not necessarily a Korean one).

1. Secret? I remember Ji Sung's character messed up all of girl's interview as a way of his revenge?
2. Bubblegum? I think the cafe where the female lead frequents is really beautiful
3. I think Goong. It's the scene where YUl wants to buy flower for his mom who was in the hospital. I think someone told him potted plants lasts longer. Or I might be wrong, it was long ago when I watched this drama
4. Personal Taste. This one I'm absolutely certain.
