Peek-a-boo posters and teaser for Introverted Boss
by chickachunga
I didn’t think there was much to the ensemble cast poster above — it looked relatively standard with everyone smiling and posing casually. But then, I spotted Yeon Woo-jin (Divorce Lawyer in Love) in the back, sitting stiffly like a block of ice with an aggrieved face that screams get-me-outta-here, and I burst out laughing. I almost didn’t notice him back there, which I’m sure is what he preferred, but it’s hard to avoid the spotlight if he’s the head honcho of a PR company. Painful shyness be damned.
Introverted Boss is tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama from the writer-PD team that brought us the hilarious rom-com Marriage Not Dating, and this time they’re taking a stab at a quirky office romance that centers around an extremely shy boss named Eun Hwan-ki, played by Yeon Woo-jin, and his outgoing, grudge-holding, recently hired employee, Chae Ro-woon, played by Park Hye-soo (Age of Youth).
The individual character posters feature only half the faces of our eight corporate employees peeping out from behind a wall, perhaps to illustrate that there’s a little bit of introvert and extrovert in all of us, whether we like it or not. Yeon Woo-jin’s poster copy reads, “Extremely timid boss who closes his door,” and by contrast, Park Hye-soo’s reads, “Sprightly newcomer who opens her door.” Then we have Yoon Park (Age of Youth) as Kang Woo-il, the “King of communication, handsome, rational leader.”
A smiling Gong Seung-yeon (Master–God of Noodle) plays Eun Yi-soo, the “King of consideration, chaebol heiress, engaged for three years.” The always hilarious Yeh Ji-won (This Week, My Wife Will Have an Affair) plays Dang Yoo-hee, a “working mom, forever section chief, bread shuttle.”
Jeon Hyo-sung (Wanted) plays Kim Kyo-ri, the “super sensitive secretary” always on the brink of a nervous breakdown. Funny guy Heo Jung-min (Oh Hae-young Again) plays Eom Sun-bong, the “sharp-tongued nitpicker” with the “best specs.” And last but not least, Han Jae-suk (Always Spring) plays Jang Se-jong, a “romantic,” a “golden spoon” and a slacker with “zero passion.”
The funny teaser opens with Yeon Woo-jin’s voice: “Late into the night, everyone in our company works passionately as if it’s their own company… how can I, the CEO, go home?” But evidently, none of the employees is in work mode; they all just want to call it a day. After a quick glance at his employees from his fortress glass corner office, he googles: “Employees stay late and don’t go home” for an answer as to why they aren’t leaving, and the results that come up are all a variation of: “The team leader isn’t going home!!” Heh.
As he pokes his head out for another glance, the employees bolt up from their seats, thinking their boss is about to leave, which would mean they could, too. But the boss hides out in his office, much to their chagrin, and laments that he’s introverted. You don’t say!
Introverted Boss will premiere on tvN on January 16, 2017 after Rude Miss Young-ae 15 ends.

The author of this post, chickachunga, just a friendly reminder; there is a grammatical error in the sentence, stating "... none of the employees is in work mode..." I'm sorry for bringing the error forth, however, this is only reminder to prevent misapprehension to other Beanies. Henceforth, thank you for the informing post about the upcoming drama entitled "Introverted Boss!"
In addition, the teasers and individual posters establish a much more splendid, refreshing tone for this romantic-comedy. In my opinion, tvN is always providing a fruitful variation in their dramas, respectively.

What kind of grammatical error are we talking about? Is it that the "none" was followed by a singular verb? If so, that usage is still in debate by many grammarians. I've a grammar book that states that "None" is always proceeded by a singular verb, and a Language professor who insists so, while a quick type on google states otherwise. If that's not the grammatical error you're saying, then by all means, my apologies.

I think Cr1mson means it should read "none of the employees *are* in work mode" (as opposed to ’is’)?
On a completely unrelated note, Yoon Park is looking mighty fine in the promo ;) Only ever seen him in AoY so it's a pleasant surprise he scrubs up so well!

If so, then it's not exactly a grammatical error. There is no one-rule in using none; and if tracing by "grammatical use" history, none is followed by a singular verb, since it's roughly used as an alternative of "no one". It is "correct" (and I'm using the term loosely) to follow "none" with "is" [no one of the employees is...], but it is also considered correct to follow it with "are". The Cambridge Style, for example, states differently - that in formal writing, none of is usually followed by a singular verb when used as a subject. Some said it usually comes down to a person's writing style.

Team singular verb! ? Woooot for the old "none is a contraction of 'no one' or 'not one'" usage!

I find your grammar and sentence structure more jarring. It's weird to have a reply *correcting grammar* when your writing is actually quite poor.
My grammar is not great either, but I wouldn't think of correcting someone else like that. I meant no offense. Just thought I should point that out.

In fact, there is no grammatical error in the quoted sentence, "But evidently, none of the employees is in work mode; they all just want to call it a day."
Observe: "none" here does the same work as "not one". If you would write -- and you should -- "not one of the employees is in work mode" then you would properly mark subject-verb agreement with a singular verb (is) to match the singular subject (none). The word "employees" is not the subject of the sentence and does not govern the verb.
Cr1mson's following sentence, however, has several errors of usage and grammar: it's missing the indefinite article before the word "reminder" (where, in fact, "correction" would be a better choice of noun); it flubs the usage for misapprehension (if that were the right term -- debatable -- it would be "misapprehension on the part of other Beanies"); and those issues are in addition to employing a very odd locution in "bringing the error forth" for the clearer and more standard "pointing the error out":
I’m sorry for bringing the error forth, however, this is only reminder to prevent misapprehension to other Beanies.
For my part, I note these facts to make the point that:
1) as a rule, very little typing in a box on a screen passes without some error, so it's rarely worth pointing out, much less bringing forth,
and
2) grammar policing rarely deepens the conversation that draws dramabeans readers to this site.

As a non-english speaker, I am sorry if my comments in DB sometimes are not grammartically acurate. English is hard... At least for me. LOL... :)
I realize that Maybe some people hate it when other people wrote wrong in grammar in spelling. But that's okay. It encourage me to write better and learn from my mistakes.
I am also learning a lot from fellow beanies though, and "professional English..." (Sorry, your name is too long... LOL) comment really helps.

Honey, in a bid to correct someone else's "grammatical error" (which isn't, my grammar text says so) you made quite a few yourself, "this is only _ reminder to prevent missapprehension to (replace with "for") other Beanies"...just a reminder, there are no perfect humans.✌?✌?

The more I read about this the drama the more interested I become! It seems really cute and fun biased of the posters and teasers, I just hope they won't joke too much about his shyness/introvertness. Since being an introvert is not really that fun! But I think the drama will also have a bit of a serious tone about its subject, or hopefully.
January 16 seems so far away, I wish it could start earlier!

I am getting more stoked for this the more I see of it! I mean, I adored MnD and Yeon Woo-jin in it, so I was already anticipating this. But what I'm loving more and more is how YWJ is styled here. The scruffy hair is pretty cute on him. He doesn't remind me of Gong Gi-tae at all, which is such a relief because I don't have to worry about my attachment to that OTP. His body language/mannerisms are already selling the character change flawlessly. And I like that the show seems to have a sense of humor all its own.
Also, while filming the group poster, the cast did the Mannequin Challenge. A little sad that they didn't have another poster of the hilarious poses they did for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pCqlNFurRc

HA, I'm loving his character already. It helps that his outfit kinda matches the wall and the floors. They should've dressed him in the same color as the chair he's sitting on so he can completely blend in and become one with the chair. ??? OTP makes me wanna watch this drama lite nao!

Im really loving the posters for this drama.
The first time I looked at the poster up top, I was wondering where Yeon Woo Jin was as the main character of the show only to find out he's in the center like any main character would be! LOL, it's so clever to stick him in the middle like that and slightly farther back to everyone else all squeezed in there. He really disappeared to me.
That and the fact that he is wearing the same beige as the wall. He just blends right into the scenery. I have to commend it. We don't always get such well thought out promo material.

How did they shrink Yeon Woo-jin in the poster as he is a beanpole of a guy!
I feel his pain for being an introvert when his height makes him standout !
I am anticipating this drama series!

I really don't follow Gong Seung Yeon as an actress, but woah, her eyes are mesmerizing!
The age gap between two leads are quite a lot, but as long as he isn't in his 40s, I think I can tolerate. Even Lee Junki & IU have a 9-year gap.. Might keep the drama in my list because of Yoon Park <3
