Woohoo, now I don’t have to be sad anymore that Yoo Seung-ho (Remember–Son’s War) turned down the drama adaptation of The Man Living in Our House, because this is much, MUCH better: He’s currently considering an offer to headline a new fantasy sageuk called Ruler–Master of the Mask as a prince who battles injustice. Oh glorious mane of glory, here we coooooome!

The new drama will be about an 18th-century Joseon prince who goes up against a shadow organization that wields power behind the scenes. The prince will fight a righteous war in order to battle increasing privatization in Joseon society, which drew public censure. The character is described as a prince who becomes a hero because of love, and “starts a war with the power to possess and control water.” I really don’t know if that’s literal or not. Can he make water dance, or is it a metaphor? Maybe his swindler Kim Seon-dal character took all the water and now he just lords it over everyone.

If anyone feels at home in royal robes, it’s Yoo Seung-ho. He’s already played a king three times — in The King and I, Queen Seondeok, and Legend — and that’s not even counting the times he’s played a god (Arang and the Magistrate, God of Study), or legendary swindler Kim Seon-dal, who impersonated a king. And if he’s a warrior prince, all the better, since he could reuse all the fighting skills from Warrior Baek Dong-soo. Basically, he’s got his bases covered.

Ruler–Master of the Mask will be a 20-episode drama series that’s 100% pre-produced; it’s currently being shopped at the major networks, and doesn’t have a broadcaster yet. Once casting is complete, shooting will begin in December for a 2017 broadcast. That is EONS away! I protest! …Or fine, I’ll just sit here impatiently until you give me the drama. Sigh.

Even though it is way too far (I miss him BADLY!) I'm willing to wait for my love for YSH, This talented actor deserve a quality drama. Btw, what station will it air?

Prince or not, I just want to see Yoo Seung Ho in a romantic drama. Something like "Healer" or even "W".

From the interviews, it seems like he doesn't like to play romantic heroes but THAT FACE straight out of a shoujo manga!

THEORY: Yoo Seung-ho is a manhwa character who came to life. You remember Hwang Seok-jeong's cameo in 'W - Two Worlds' and how she insisted all her characters have giant sparkly eyes? Yoo Seung-ho probably stepped right out of that story.

I'd prefer to see Park Eun-bin in a traditional sageuk with a meaty role like she did with Lady Hyegyeong. She is far more talented to be a love interest for fictional prince or of that sort.

Whoa another 93ers~ It really is a good news! I got Park Bo Gum as Joseon prince this year. And I may have Yoo Seung Ho as another prince next year. Assa!

Okay, If I have any chance to do time-travelling, I'll definitely choose Joseon era as my ultimate destination. I really want to know if the actual princes are as handsome as actors who portray them in Kdrama.

I just watched YSH's Seondal [sageuk] last night, he previously starred Jeoseon Magician and becoming a Jade Emperor in Arang, and I don't know what sageuk roles he played as a child actor back then...

I didn't make a major on Yoo Seung-ho's projects but I know that he's this awesome if he went to serve in the army at such a young age. I guess I'll be watching his previouse dramas for thw mean time.

It's really a mystery how segeuk dramas keep on popping these days. Really, when it rains, it pours.

There's always going to be a soft spot in my heart for the very few classic dramas of 2016 (even if we are only just past the halfway mark of the year and still have a couple more months and a couple more dramas to go before the year is officially over), and "Remember- Son's War" is one of those classics <3 So anything and everything that needs to be done and that can be done to get Yoo Seung Ho back onto my screen, you got me hook, line, and sinker <3

If he becomes a Prince, Definitely him and Park Bo-Gum (Moonlight Drawn By Clouds) are the most charming ever! But Prince or not, please give him a drama as soon as possible. And if POSSIBLE, pair him with Kim So Hyun!
