Lee Soo-kyung may become dutiful daughter for Father, I’ll Take Care of You

MBC’s upcoming weekend drama Father, I’ll Take Care of You might have found its leading lady in Lee Soo-kyung (My Little Baby). Last week, Kim Jae-won (Hwajeong) announced that he was also thinking about signing onto this drama. Currently, Lee Soo-kyung has received the script and is in the middle of considering taking the role of a travelogue writer.

This new drama is centered around an elderly couple who are excited to finally start their retired life together, after twenty-some odd years of raising their children. Their hopes of a lovey-dovey home, with just the two of them, are dashed when their adult children return home all at once. The four siblings quibble as they re-learn the strength of familial bonds. In the midst of it all, there may be a side revenge plot because the character Kim Jae-won was offered is an international investment executive with a large chip on his shoulder.

Writer Cho Jung-sun, who also worked on family dramas Sons of Sol Pharmacy and Twinkle Twinkle My Heart, and PD Lee Dae-young, who directed successful makjangs Queen’s Flower and White Lies, are heading the production team of Father, I’ll Take Care of You. I really enjoyed Sons of Sol Pharmacy (featuring Ji Chang-wook in his early years), which won a slew of awards for its charismatic characters and meaningful story. If the new Cho Jung-sun drama is anything like it, it might be worth checking out.

Father, I’ll Take Care of You will start to air on MBC in October after Flower in Prison‘s end.

Twinkle Twinkle My Heart was one of the worst written drama ever. I cannot believe all these big name stars are willing to try a drama with this scriptwriter. She will end up selling them to some teenager, as she did In Twinkle Twinkle.

I just finished Soulmate. Damn the with drawls! It's even sadder not being able to see most of the cast in recent dramas and know about SDW illness. Any suggestions to overcome these withdrawls?

At least she's a good actress, unlike the one in FiP.
