Choi Ji-woo, Joo Jin-mo, Jeon Hye-bin, Lee Joon

• Choi Ji-woo, Joo Jin-mo, Jeon Hye-bin, and Lee Joon have all confirmed Woman With a Suitcase, which will follow the fall of Choi, an office manager of a law firm who gets framed for a crime, and her eventual return to success. Joo’s a paparazzo who knows everything about anybody in Korea, and Jeon and Lee have signed on as lawyers. The legal mystery/romance is formatted as a miniseries (as opposed to other Monday-Tuesday MBC dramas that have run for 50 episodes) and will air after Monster wraps its run in September. • Kim Jae-won (Hwajeong) will play a director of a global investment company/head of a construction site with dreams of revenge in upcoming MBC weekend drama Father, I’ll Take Care of You. I’m a bit intrigued by the plot (and not sure yet how Kim’s character ties in), in which a husband and wife marry off their four daughters, only to have them come back home. They’re selfish women who have only looked out for themselves, but after re-entering the family home, they’ll learn how precious their parents are and will have renewed respect for their siblings. Written by Jo Jung-sun (Twinkle Twinkle My Heart), the show will follow the conclusion of Flower in Prison in October. [Joongang]


Kim Jae-won, Hwang Bora

• Jeon Hye-bin (Oh Hae-young Again) stars in an upcoming drama short called Noodle Shop Woman. She’ll experience heartbreak in Seoul and will move to Andong (three hours away) to live with her aunt and run a noodle shop. She’ll meet an aspiring novelist (Park Byung-eun) and their growing attraction will cause conflict between him and his wife, played by Shim Yi-young (Beautiful Mind). The drama special is expected to air on KBS in October. [Sports Chosun]
• Joining Blow Breeze as the younger twin of Han Joo-wan is Hwang Bora (Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-ki). She’s the one that annoyed her oppa (by 12 minutes) so much he didn’t want to date. The 50-episode weekend drama will air on MBC in August, after the conclusion of Happy Home. [Joy News 24, Xports News]
• A new smartphone modeled by Park Hae-jin (Cheese in the Trap) is soon to launch in China, and news outlets are pitting the poor guy versus Cristiano Ronaldo. The sales of the phone modeled by soccer star Ronaldo boosted China’s economy by 2 trillion won, and expectations are for Park’s to do the same. [Asia Economy]

Go Soo, Namgoong Min

Holy cameos! Here are all the ones that are coming up:

• Go Soo (Flower in Prison) will appear in Princess Deokhye as Prince Yi Wu, the 26th prince of Joseon. The Heo Jin-ho-directed film stars Sohn Ye-jin, Park Hae-il, Ra Mi-ran, and Kim So-hyun and premieres August 3. [Sports Chosun]
• Director Oh Choong-hwan came by the Beautiful Gong-shim set to personally offer Namgoong Min a guest spot on Doctors, and the actor was happy to oblige his Girl Who Sees Smells director. Namgoong’s cameo follows previous guest spots from Im Ji-yeon, Han Hye-jin and Jo Dal-hwan — tune in Monday, August 1 to see his emotional performance as the father of two kids. Cha Tae-hyun, Jo Yeo-jung

• I am looking forward to this drama so much — with this teaser, how could you not? As icing on the cake, Cha Tae-hyun (The Producers) and Jo Yeo-jung (Babysitter) wrapped filming their bright and cheery guest appearance on Moonlight Drawn by Clouds this past week. Both will play stirring characters in the first episode, which premieres after the (sadly early) conclusion of Beautiful Mind on KBS. [Joongang]
• Drinking Solo (given the number of celebrities passing through, maybe they should change the title to Drinking Together) will see SHINee’s Min-ho (Grandma Gye-choon) pop by to support fellow bandmate Key in his acting debut, while Kim Hee-won (also Grandma Gye-choon, Let’s Eat 2) and Ha Yeon-soo (Legendary Witch) have already filmed their own guest spots. The Let’s Eat spinoff will premiere in September and take over the timeslot vacated by Bring It On, Ghost on tvN. [DongA, Osen]
