First week back to work after three weeks off - it's been tiring!

"Six Flying Dragons" is continuing to be awesome and c-drama "The Disguiser" is an awesome spy adventure.

This week I just started on Cheese In The Trap and The Merchant Gaekju/Master of Trade.

At first I didn't intend to watch Merchant yet since I normally don't watch 2 sageuks at the same time. But while waiting for new episode of SFD (which is still awesome btw), I decided to give Merchant a try and surprisingly loving it!

I guess the best thing about Merchant is we really don't know what's going to happen next, since the story is not based on real history. And I guess it's refreshing too that for once, a sageuk does not focus on the politics (king).
And of course it's a plus point that we have Jang Hyuk and Han Chae-ah. I adore them!

shortest fairy tale: started watching Six Flying Dragons. Morning arrived.
I hadn´t found a way how to approach this dish, for one, being afraid I won´t really understand the whole history behind it, and two, that they would try to make it too grandiose, too over-the top. Somehow, recaps, too, had had an opposite effect on me, it seemed unappealing through them. But I should have just jumped in head on and thought about the "what if´s" later.
It is really solid, although I am not obsessed or fanatical like I was with some other dramas. But it has well-built characters, good to great acting, steady quality... the male characters carry this show, but still, my favorites are the female spies! How awesome is that organization? not looking at whose side they are on or what they benefit, but just the idea of a house-load of bad-ass girl ninjas is worth all the thunder. And intelligent girls too - not that that in itself is anything rare though, cause women ARE intelligent, period. But intelligent combined with courage and determination, without hesitation, at a time ruled by male warriors... and men, who actually respect that intelligence? Who actually let the women use it? in a kdrama? wow. Girls who analyze and calculate and give the guys scoldings when they get all puffed up. I love that. Looks like my new years´ drama wishes were already partly fulfilled in it. Except Cho Young, she does have authority, but she doesn´t seem as witty as the other gals.
also with the mentor- student relationships, my other new years´ wish for dramas has already been fulfilled, and there are many, but it is reciprocal. They are all each others´students and mentors. Although the balance between them is messy and unsteady, cause at one point one is seen as a mentor, another moment the follower might become an enemy.I felt slightly bad for Teacher Hong, when Gil Tae Mi died and he said that he was a good kid as a child. The teachers´ work and hope, and when the student grows up to be so evil...yet he is still your student. You are still The Teacher... It is hard to explain, but I can imagine it. But now reading the latest recaps, people are saying Teacher Hong is suspicious. well, we´ll see.
There is not a single pointless character, and they are all well fleshed-out. Every side character has a purpose and presents a different side of human nature in the show. I am glad to see Lee Ji-Hoon here, who I took notice of in School 2013. And Min Sung-Wook! I have gotten so used to this guy being everywhere that if the next drama doesnt have him, I´ll feel weird. I have reached ep 19 so far, not trying to marathon, on one hand, it is not easy to swallow all at once, on the other hand I want to give them enough time before they turn into...something else.

so far, a solid 8/10 for me. why not 10 is that I still don´t exactly route for anybody fervently. I feel like I am just observing and letting things happen, but not emotionally involved in their struggles, maybe cause there are so many characters and it feels like a real society, I feel like I am just one of the citizens who somehow gets an insight of the turning wheels. I don´t even have a favorite character, they are all too ambiguous to be their fervent fan. Or maybe Yeon-hee...she is a toughie. I am glad to have something well-produced to watch.

I dunno what I think of the preview for Reply 1988... I don´t understand the translation, but at least Taekie seems to be all right. He walked around and talked to people. That´s all that matters.
Did you hear Lee Dong Hwi is dating? That´s awesome, he seems to have a similarly fun personality as his character. I bet he is a great boyfriend, especially because he went straight for honesty and openness.

QUESTION:

if you had to list drama characters you got most emotionally involved with (not just from this year), on a scale of 1 to 15+ alpha, who would you list and why did you get emotionally involved? was it a positive or negative kind of attachment? did you like them so much you kept thinking back to them, or did they make you so angry that you couldn´t enjoy the show without cussing? or did they just make you endlessly curious so much you could die? not about your favorite characters, but someone who had a big impact on your emotions. I´ll think about my own list later.

Since there's no year restriction

Bidam: 15+ Queen Seon Deok - It was mostly both feeling, I just relate to him a lot. I feel him, his frustration, his anger, his love, his loneliness, his goal, his regret and his wish. I kept thinking every time I saw Saeguk like "oh there was Bidam once upon a time in Shilla". I was grieving 1 week after 1st time watching it in real weekly update- it happen when I was in high school-
I recently re-watched it (like every year after disappointing by saeguk) and Bidam still hold a very special place in my heart.
for 6FD - I need to wait after it ends, ending is important

Chilbong: 15+ : Reply 1994 : Okay I knew it was bait, but chilbong's life in the drama are only najung and baseball and both turn out no like I expected. Chilbong resonance to my self, his confidence, the rejection, the confession, every thing he did is just a simple attitude looking for answer, until this day It ain't over until it's over

Nakatsu(Ikuta toma): 15+ Hana Kimi : he just wonderful character, I love every thing about him and I feel his character, as long as he is happy, it's enough

Sibling in Graveyard of fireflies: 15+ I give my heart to them

Yakusuke: 14+ Okitagami Kyoko : He is the memorandum, love his bad fate and his change behavior, will be 15+ if it gets 2nd season

7 personality of cha do hyon: 12+ I feel really sad when they're leaving I really curious about what exactly gonna happen if they still there, I mean they no necessarily bad for Ri Jin anymore

Kazuo Kikuta: 10+ Strawberry night: to do a great job and looking for her from apart,

and my ultimate Hisoka: 100+ well I am a fan
hope it's not too much, I think I forget a lot of things at this moment

SFD: Yeah Actually I like the non-history parts the most in SFD (like 3 young dragons, all intel-selling groups, Swordsmen, and WTH is Noname/MooMyung?)

"Did you hear Lee Dong Hwi is dating?" Yes, a model. I mentioned I lol-ed when he received the best dresser award. But now I know there was a reason (Girlfriend is model)
Reply 1988: Production team is upset with all the spoilers flowing around and now talking about possible law suits. There has been spoilers about Duksun and her husband (like Duk-sun becomes a stewardess, and Jung-hwan becomes a pilot etc).

Most impressive characters? Even with decades of drama watching, I do not have many characters I went ga-ga over.
The ones I can think of-
Bi/Rain in Sangdoo, let's go to school
Jo Hyun-jae in DaeMang/great hope
Kim Myung-min in Immortal Yi Soon-shin
Ji Jin-hee in DaeJangGeum
Byun Yo-han in SFD

.."if you had to list drama characters you got most emotionally involved with.." This is probably more to do with memorable performance.
(Don't judge me. I love veteran actors who are as old, or older than my dad lol).

Jung Bo Suk: Love - King Gongmin (Shin Don). Hate - Jo Phil Yeon (Giant).
Song Chang Min: Love (Shin Don).
Seo Jin Hye: Love-Queen Noguk (Shin Don).
Kim Myung Min: Hate -Jang Jeon Hyuk (White Tower), Love -Yi Sun Shin (Admiral Yi).
Han Suk Kyu: Love - King Sejong (Tree with Deep Root).
Song Joong Ki : Love - King Sejong (Tree with Deep Root).
Honorable mention lol:Love - Warrior Moo-hyul (Jo Jin Woong).
Ahn Nae Sang: King Jeongjo (Conspiracy in the Court).
Moon Geun Young: Shin Yoon Bok (Painter of the Wind). Empress Myeongseong (The Last Empress).
Go Hyun Jung: Mishil (Queen Seon Deok).
Eom Tae Woong: Yoo Shin Huk (Ressurrection).
Kim Sun-A: (Kim Sam-Soon).

I wouldn´t mind a sequel to Faith. cause the only thing that truly disappoints me in Six Flying Dragons is.... WTF General Choi is supposed to be tall and look like Lee Min Ho, I will not play this game, get lost, shortie, I will never accept you. I'm probably the only one who prefer SFD's old general Choi over Lee Min-hoo. I couldn't finished Faith because I thought he was so wrong in every way. Choi Young was supposed to be old. I guess I'm too much of a history geek lol.

superfox, that is my dilemma with 6FD, the portrayal of Choi Young and where is Court Lady Choi, his amazing martial arts aunt? Well, all I Know about Korean history I learned in kdramas and Choi Young in 6FD is no Lee Min Ho.

0

Required fields are marked *

with the attitude shown in SFD, they would even have court Lady Choi murdered. Although it would be a failed attempt because, c´mon! it is Lady Choi!
I don`t care, even if this Choi Young is more accurate historically, the Faith Choi Young is the image I prefer, MY original, cause that is how I learned about him in the first place. Besides, heroes SHOULD be beautified a little, to make our mind more willing to wander into the past.

I'm sory, but that's a tad too shallow. SFD is already full of "flowerboys", the few veterans are a fresh breath of air.

0

I dont mean a flower boy at all. I just always had the impression he was a tall man. I have nothing against the veterans whatsoever. beautify doesnt mean a flower boy for me.

0

I have a few favorite Choi Young before Faith came along and they were always older actors. That's how I picture him in history too.
Lee Jiran was the only warrior to be described in history as physically beautiful. He is not as beautiful in SFD but I like his rugged looks. He is believable as warrior.
I made a comment in earlier episodes about Lee Min-ho being his descendant.

Oh, I had a definite "How's Annie?" moment with the stare in that ending (google it if you don't get the reference). It was kind of...jarring. But I'm sure it was supposed to be open to interpretation. In the novel it was pretty clear that Alan wasn't a real second personality.

Happy New Year, fellow beanies. My first post in OT.

Really looking forward to AM 1988 back this week and next, but NOT looking forward to it ending next weekend. Had no intention of watching, but ended up LOVING it.

Jang Yeong Sil - just starting this week and gave it a try for Song Il Gook, my very first kdrama crush many years ago in my first kdrama & first saguek EOTS. First two eps were solid, so anticipating another greak saguek from SIG. (I think he's just awesome in sagueks!)

Cheese In The Trap - watched it just to see what all the hype and excitement was about and was totally sucked into the mystery and intrigue of the characters. All actors are doing a great job so far - seems like casting was a total success. (This coming from someone who knows nothing about the webtoon & history.)

Oh My Venus - Enjoyed this rom-com. Liked how they handled the weight loss issue, loved chemistry between So Ji Sub & Shin Mi Na - very cute together. KWB is a lucky guy... Lots of plots holes, not tons of substance, but feel-good, and more realistic in the adult relationships. Was a fun one.

Thanks for 2016 getting off to a good start (except for this lousy cold I caught from visiting family at New Years, ah well...)

Have a blessed 2016!

I agree on 2016 getting off to a good start -1988, SFD, CITT, remember etc. And we have tons of pre-produced shows coming in our way- Descendants of the Sun, Uncontrollably Fond, Hwarang: The beginning, SaImDang, BoboGyungSim: Rye- Most of them are big budget with halryu stars as leading roles, and will air in Korea and China at the same time.
Pre-production shows have not been successful so far, but They say this is the way to go because live-shoot reached its limit and needed to attract the Chinese market.

Six Flying Dragons - I've watched up to the episode of the black horse/white horse situation. ....... This drama is simply outstanding.

Oh My Venus - I just don't understand the girl who's constantly after Korean Snake. Seriously, what's the point of having her appear in this story?

Hi beanies!

So i did some catching up with Mask and High Society (which in didn't finish for obvious reason). I was too caught up with I Remember You to care for any airing drama at that time.

I regret that i ever watched High Society. I won't rant on it further. LOL

So i'm finally watching Ojakgyo Brothers. Or you can call it a rewatch because i did watched a few episode before but never follow it from the beginning till the end due to my cousin constantly bugging me about it. It reminds me of Smile, You which is super good for a family weekend drama and it kind of washes me off from all bad residual feelings i have for Uee in High Society LOL.

I blame the writers in High Society. Enough said.

Mask, is just so-so but i still finish it.

For JDrama i just finished From 5 to 9 which totally works for me when i switch off my brain. A rom com good for laughs definitely.

Will start on Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku soon and despite the casting (weirdness) of Moon Lovers, i will still be following it just to see how it turns out. Please, give me some pleasant surprise drama!

Happy OT and Weekend to All!
Are we already into the 2nd week of January?... well yes if we take 7 days after the first of Jan to be the next week!

Thoughts on a few shows...

Minor SPOILER?

Cheese in the Trap - Alluring. Engaging. Different in a slightly alarming or ominous way and fun to watch so that we get to guess is he or isn't he, but mostly why is he, and is her gut feel right or is she just reading too much into situations. I feel like I'm the cheese together with her! It's an amazing blend of normal school/college life-cum-mystery, cum-romance-cum-unsettling and even scary. Might it be said to have a bit of the 'du Maurier's Rebecca' feel to it? Anyway, I'm hooked by the mystery to be unraveled.

Reply 1988 - This show feels like a smooth ice-cream with a surprisingly tangy after taste. Goes down slowly and comfortingly and still give me a little surprising burst of flavor at the end. Still loving it!

Web-dramas - Since I wanted something short, quick and easy to digest.

The OK ones were Secret Message and Be Arrogant. Thanks to the Beanies who recommended them! They were interesting and coherent and had a proper development and ending and were pretty satisfying to watch.

The not entirely a waste of time ones were EXO Next Door, Noble My Love and Her Lovely Heels. They could have been less tropey and have had more character development but at least they were enjoyable and not too frustrating, which was what I was looking for.

More a waste of time shows were A Better Tomorrow (but at least it had a little message for overcoming fear and some ok songs), Vampire Flower, Dream Knight. I did not necessarily finish them or watch every minute, short though they were.

Re-watched Sassy Go Go in bits. It soothed my nerves and made me feel happy! :)

@ Carole McDonnell

I guess it depends ... on the one hand, if we consider that the whole 'relationship' thing was 'remote', and there were long pauses in action, it might seem boring. But it had an eclectic arty mood to it and there were messages interspersed in the things the individuals did... might not be all that secret LOL! except their message! It helped that TOP was enigmatic and Juri Ueno so very watchable. :)

You should see One Sunny Day if you haven't yet, it is better than The Secret Message and Noble My love, at least according to me. Though I thought that the leads lack a little chemistry but the shows pace is good and its only 10 episodes. Plus I think web dramas have lesser budget than dramas which is pretty visible but One sunny day managed to not make it that apparent compared to the other web dramas I've seen.

Yes, One Sunny Day was only 2-episodes long. So Ji Sub looked super young in it although it was dated 2014. He brought a totally different feel to this character, unlike that of Young Ho in OMV, and was more likeable from the start. I even liked the chemistry between him and Kim Ji won more than that between him and SMA.

Waiting For Love was only a drama special (KBS) but it was a really thoughtful, comparatively modern look at relationships.

BoA and Choi Daniel did great, but I remember being particularly impressed by the second leads - Im Shi-wan and Kim Ji-won brought a lot of nuance and dimension to roles that could have been just throwaway tropes/obstacles for the OTP (the cute puppy who's not quite right for our heroine/ the bitchy second lead who can't detach showiness and materialism from love). This was right before Heirs and I remember thinking they'd go far if they got a shot at the right roles - and well, along came Misaeng. (I'm still waiting for KJW's big lead-role break).

@GB - I can absolutely identify with the rewatching of Sassy Go Go as a palate cleanser from otherwise disappointing drama landscapes!

I wish I could make myself do this more when the current dramascape disappoints me (revisit older dramas). I'm still saving Giant for a particularly bad spell.

Yes, disappointing is the word. After the hope with the good beginnings ... I wonder if show makers actually do not care about viewers. Ever so often do not seem to keep up the standards and the strength of story, after getting us hooked. I feel like I've been manipulated and cheated, somehow.

Another show I'm saving is Splash Splash Love. Short and good and puts me in a good mood!

yeah, Sassy Go Go and Splish Splash Love pretty much saved the end of the drama year for me. What an unexpectedly fantastic pair of dramas, it's the rv equivalent of having a really so-so meal but then being presented with two really amazing desserts at the end to finish off.

(I also enjoy Answer Me 1988 but it's not quite in the 'will revisit' league)

Hello all,

Winter has finally hit upstate New York. Am in need of veggies so I might venture out into the frozen tundra. Other than that, am working on a new novel for a mobile app and have fallen in love with my villain (as usual)

Dramas:

My impatience with All About My Mom is making me feel my drama-ideas is waaaaaaay at odds with Korean ahjumma tastes. Its ratings are so high in Korea and I'm like... seriously??? The bugaboo of "don't be horrible to your elderly parent coz they might die anytime out of the blue" is just too much when it comes to these weekend family dramas. I mean it worked with "What's with my family" which was sooooooo good! But this.. wow! The kneejerk drama tropes and the weird out of the blue complications! I am seriously annoyed.

Okay, rant over... I think.

I'm still weirdly interested in "All will be well/Everything is alright" and am waiting for episode 90 to pop up so I can actually watch and see how it all comes out.

Cheese in the Trap: Am interested in this one. Probably because I might be needing a good rom-com.

Remember: This is one of those shows where all the main and secondary characters are sooooooo good but the story is kinda typical. My sweetie Namgoong Min is just so good at being bad. I'm hoping all the underlings -- of the good and bad guys-- are gonna save the day. Why did Dad suddenly start to kinda sorta gain his memory?

Six Flying Dragons: Wow, i'm learning all kinds of history now. And watching it while watching Jang Yeong-sil with its guilt-stricken king is such a fun historical balance. I love the narrator in Jang Yeong-Sil; I think I've recognized her voice..and love the history culture thing at the end of each episodes. These two dramas have gravitas up the wazoo, or at least up my wazoo.

Sweet Savage Family: Another rant (I thought I was finished) but I am so annoyed at the sure-as-heck-it's-coming forgiveness

arc. Sometimes these dramas get me so angry because they simply do not have the courage to write off crappy relationships. Kdrama redemption arc, I am seriously annoyed with you.

Chinese Drama: The Lost Tomb. This is utterly unbelievable but it promises fun.

KBS World TV on youtube. Scandal in Old Soul is okay, but predictable. Gonna watch Fugitive Plan B and the drama special Contract Man cause I like that actor a lot.

That's it..i think. Kinda wishing there was a good jdrama to watch.

Happy creativity and happy weekend, all.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to all the beanies who recommended Nirvana in Fire (for some reason my brain keeps wanting to call it Nirvana on Fire). This is my 1st CDrama. Started it during the holiday season and I only have 5 episodes left.

Currently Watching: Cheese in the Trap, Imaginary Cat, Remember—Son's War, and Let's Eat 2.

Just Finished: Oh My Venus

I really would like to start watching: Six Flying Dragons, Master of Trade—Inn 2015, and Sweet Savage Family.

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. ~ Oprah Winfrey

Anyway, it's a really fun show. A nice break from rom-coms etc.

good morning beanies!

Remember – War of the Son – It’s odd seeing Lee In Ah’s father as the kindly Papa John pizza guy in this murder story after his role as Gap Dong. Jin Woo’s glasses “disguise” should have had the nose and mustache, too. Nam Gyu Man is a villain of the debaser sort, rotten to the core. Like his father. I predict Soo Bum is gonna break and turn on his master. Park Dong Ho is one of those memorable characters you just love to hate. Does it even matter if you have a soft spot under that pile of dirty won? A more rhetorical question there never was when he asked Gyu Man, “Are you going to kill everyone you don’t like?”

Cheese in the Trap – Give me a man in a suit and I’m in heaven (Cruel City, When a Man Loves, need I go on?) but Park Hae Jin is Mr. I’m Handsomest in a Sweater all the way, going back to You From Another Star, and now Cheese. When his eyes reveal potential evil, it’s very scary. I’ve got my eye on Seo Kang Joon, though. Bad boy done wrong looks good on him, but I’m worried about him versus Yoo Jung.

Oh My Venus – I think Young Ho knit all the loose ends of this drama into that cotton candy pink scarf. The ring in the pompom was a cute enough touch and who wouldn’t be swept up in the romantic moment between So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah, but on the scale of meaningfulness from “it meant the world” to “it was meaningless” OMV only meant enough to barely finish it for me so I could add it to the kdramas watched list. Even with an all-out leading couple, the plot fell short.

Watching Imaginary Cat. Stay healthy, Miss Bok Gil!
6FD – the db discussion makes this historical drama a keeper for me.

Happy Together Solo Christmas (singles Christmas special) was one of the worst k-entertainment episodes I’ve ever seen, as was last year’s Infinity Challenge Singles Christmas (un)special. It’s best just to drop the concept altogether. Maybe I’m still reeling over the fact that HT kept Seho, dropped Misun, and brought on Kim Poong. I don’t get it.

I caught the first ep of The Fugitive – Plan B with Rain. Remember Rain and Crystal or has everyone forgotten that on purpose? It’s like watching an old-fashioned slapstick detective comedy or maybe that’s just the way Rain is and he’s not acting. He’s working on a case, shirtless of course – I’m not complaining, and it seemed like he was going to break out singing as if it was really a stage set for a concert in Thailand. When the monks with awesome blades were after him and he jumped down the temple steps I was sure they were backup singers. I’m confused whether this is a kdrama, a reality show, or an elaborate Rain concert.

have a great weekend \/

In Remember, I'm thinking Chaebol Dad could go super-protective or might go the "put son in a rice chest" route. Will see. I wish chaebol sister had more importance to the plot. Who knows? Maybe she will later. Loving the underling bromance. Would be nice if villain had a weak spot whom he loved. Girlfriend, perhaps. But I guess his love for his sister is enough.

I like you, Carole, you're always giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. Makes me feel even more cynical, but I can't see daddy or son baddy coming out golden in any scenario. Rotting in jail, like they did to Jin Woo.s father, is too good for them. I hope son baddy's comment that he wouldn't survive even a day in jail is a premonition of things to come for him.

Ah, is it possible that my cynicism sees Dad cutting troublesome son loose? If Daughter Chaebol was more on the ball and corporation-minded, Dad might very well give her "the kingdom" but she's "only a lawyer" right now.

I'm thinking Son will definitely spend more than a day in prison...cause we want him to become some prisoner's bitch.

But the cynic in me thinks that perhaps Dad will get away unscathed or might die of a heart attack and be spared.

So, friend, who is the cynic now? ;-)

Hi Owl!

Re: Fugitive Plan B--you should have talked to me before you started. FPB is one of those dramas where I would absolutely recommend you not watch the first episode. The first episode is horrible and it culminates in that ridiculously cheesy over dramatic chase/shoot out scene. Luckily they make no more mistakes like that in the rest of the drama and it's a lot more fun and interesting (but still could have stood to lose a few episodes--the tighter editing that four fewer episodes would have required would have helped). I'd say pretend you never saw the first episode then keep on going and you should enjoy it.

That's too bad, but I don't blame you. I luuuuuurve RAIN to pieces and I managed to sit through this one because of him only. If it wasn't for my Bi-na, it likely would've been dropped. It wasn't a bad drama by any means and I actually enjoyed episodes 2 thru to about episode 12. But then some of its flaws, especially the superficial quality it had (sort of like it was trying too hard), started to become more glaring. By then, I just wanted it to finish up already. Having said all that, minus episode 1 (which imho is the worst first episode of a Kdrama--ever), I think credit is due to RAIN and Lee Jung-Jin b/c they were quite awesome in spite of the material they had to work with.

Yeah, that first ep really threw me off, as in the "off" button on my screen. Definitely a case of trying too hard - the slapstick felt very forced. Anyhoot, I gave it a try even if it was under the mistaken premise of a new kdrama, and I'm glad for your feedback. Your Bi-na, my G-Dragon, I get it. (I read somewhere that Rain caused a huge tattoo run for the character Bi. Did you get one? :) )

Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe we're already a week into the new year!

I just started Six Flying Dragons last week- I'm already 7 episodes in and I'm completely hooked. The cast is solid, the plot is engaging, the camera work and action scenes are amazing, and it has a wonderful balance of comedy, intrigue, and action that makes it addicting. I think this may be my favorite sageuk (Sorry, Empress Ki...).

Splish Splash love is adorbs, and I wish it had been expanded by two episodes - I have so many questions! But I'm glad it ended well. The only thing I can take away from time travel rom coms is that when in doubt, always trust an equally-attractive love interest doppleganger to do what logic and science cannot.

I really hope Kim Seul Gi is cast as the lead in all her dramas this year, she is too damn good for second-banana scene-stealing roles.

Answer Me 1998 - I forgot how incredibly difficult it is waiting for new episodes, especially when they've been moved due to the holidays. I really loved this iteration of the series, and I can't wait for the cameos from the 97 and 94 crew *crosses fingers* I haven't decided if I love the 1997 or this one more, but this one is definitely my favorite drama of 2015.

Imaginary Cat - Holy ninjas, episode 6... I love the cute, but Na Woo needs to dial it back... like a ton. I like that she cares for Bok Gil and Jong Hyun, but her concern is bordering on obsessive, if not creepy.

I think that's everything so far. I'm sure I'll be looking for another drama to binge-watch once AM 1998 and Imaginary Cat finish, so I'm open to recommendations.

Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008)- A couple major alterations from the novel could lead to big confusions for those who watch the sequel Romance/Return of the Condor Heroes but didn't read the novels.

Glamorous Temptation - I've been watching it on and off and I keep asking myself why I bother. Maybe it's the craziness. Maybe I want to see how the 3 leads get back to where they began after all these twists and convolutions.

Nirvana in Fire - I stopped at Ep 13. I started to feel that it was affecting me a bit in some weird way. I will probably slowly continue to enjoy the cinematography and listen to the mellow dialogue. I cannot say that I care all that much for the intrigue, but I guess I'm slightly invested in the hero and his plans. I anticipate a difficult journey for our hero and a difficult end for me, the viewer.

SPOILERS

I felt the guilt and the horror of the fact that I was watching Glamorous Temptation while I was watching it. Madness (me, I mean). It's amazing how many times they spin around the same theme and might re-use the same moves at getting back at each other. I'm now interested to see how often that 100 million won changes hands, just like how that bag became so mobile (and not a single soul thought to open it and admire the interior!!! That's the first thing I'd do with a bag!). For all we know, someone has taken out the documents by now and thrown is away as so much written gibberish.

I should also set up a count of the number of informants there are and who's informing on whom for whom... and the number of times the family sit miserably U-shaped around that dinner table never enjoying a meal and usually saying something that will get them into trouble. The repetitiveness is hypnotic and keeps me coming back for more!!! LOL!
