Will Kim So-eun Walk the Night with Lee Jun-ki?

Yes, please, can we make this happen? We’ve gone through a lot of casting possibilities for Scholar Who Walks the Night, but if ever I wanted one to stick, it would be this one: Kim So-eun is the latest leading lady in contention, and is “positively considering” the sageuk fantasy romance set in the Joseon era about a vampire scholar who falls in love with a young woman who dresses as a man in order to sell books.

Lee Jun-ki recently signed on to play Mr. Vampire, and while I would’ve loved for him to act alongside previous heroine contender Han Groo (…though not so much the most recent contender, Jin Se-yeon), if we can’t have Han I would be happy with Kim So-eun. She’s got a great bubbly charm and has the ability to take characters with frustrating traits and make them relatable onscreen, which is a pretty crucial skill when dramaland is so littered with underdeveloped (or badly developed) heroines. She did that with the wide-eyed and overly trusting heroine of Liar Game, for instance, plus she’s also got sageuk experience under her belt (Horse Healer, Iron Empress). I’m down to see how she matches up against Lee Jun-ki.

Kim’s reps have confirmed that she is working out the final details with the producers — which, while not a confirmation, sounds like it’s farther along in the process than the others got. If I cross my fingers extra hard, will that help?

Scholar Who Walks the Night will be a Wednesday-Thursday MBC drama premiering in July.

I prefer KSE doing the lead roles even K-netizens and Netizens have the same opinion as me ...Will Kim So Eun take the role ? when she is doing WGM and movie with Aaron Yan at the same time? I wish she will put on priority her health more than anything else

*SIIIIIIGGGGHHHHHHH* not that into KSE but I prefer her over JSY. this is going to be DS alllllll over again. my god, what is this world coming to?. I love LJK to death but am not ready to see him with JSY. imagine the freaking kiss scenes..... *shudders*

I prefer anyone over Jin Se Yeon. That woman has no talent whatsoever. Dr. Stranger still haunts me.

Allkpop reported that although she is in final talks with the producer, KSE's role is not the LEAD role, which sucks!

What do those producers see in JSY that we don't. Must she be the lead for fuck sake?

I hope she Is in! I would love her to be the lead not only because she is the better actress but jsy will just be out shined. Plus kse always has fantastic chemistry with her co-stars.

The only reason I can see KSE accepting a second lead role is if the second lead role is more meaty and requires more skill than the main lead. Because lets face it, sometimes the side characters are much more interesting than the main OTP and can overshine the lead in some cases.

Jsy replaced kse before...so maybe kse can replace jsy? I haven't seen any of jsy drama to compare. I do like kse and have watch some of hers ...but would love yeh. In either case, I'm watching this all for lee junki!! He always star in great dramas but the ratings weren't ?

Btw, if she did star in AoF, do you think she would still be on WGM with SJR? I only started to watch WGM bc if KSE.

i just read the news that JSY turned down the offer. but still KSE would x be the female lead. not really sure on the accuracy of the news. i dont hate JSY, because the acting skill can always be improved & developed, as long as she work hard and she has a talent.
Even KSE will accept the supporting role, i hope the role will make her shine and can open the success road for her, since she work hard and she is talented actress also. :)
