• Im Shi-wan is hot, hot, hot after his appearance in Misaeng; it’s said he’s received nearly 50 scripts and offers and that he’s currently reviewing them all as he vacations in the Philippines with the Misaeng team (now that’s what I call a wrap party!). He’ll likely select a movie for his next project, but fingers crossed he comes back to dramaland (for Misaeng 2 and other projects) soon. [Osen]
• KBS has a new weekend drama in the works titled Bluebird’s House, which will air after the conclusion of What’s With This Family. Han Joo-wan (Joseon Gunman) has been offered the lead and is positively considering, while Jin Kyung-soo (Plus Nine Boys) is also contemplating a role. Meanwhile, veterans Chun Ho-jin (Doctor Stranger) and Choi Myung-gil (Punch) have confirmed they’ll play supporting parts: Chun is a man with masterful entrepreneurial skills, while Choi Myung-gil is a pleasant and gentle woman who holds a lot of remorse inside. When Choi learns that Chun’s character deliberately abandoned her first love as he was dying, she sets out for revenge. While that’s a dramatic subplot, the show’s overall theme will be about youths overcoming ordeals and their personal growth. Still, with 50 episodes, they’ll have plenty of time to flesh out ancillary storylines. Bluebird’s House will begin in February. [Dong A, XSports News]


Han Joo-wan

• Hyeri (of girl group Girl’s Day and JTBC’s Seonam Girls’ High Investigators) has landed a role in Hyde, Jekyll, Me as a girl who’s got a puppy-love crush on Hyun Bin’s character. She’ll play a college student majoring in playwriting, who’s smart but goofy. She’s also got crazy energy and a strong sense of curiosity, and she’ll bombard Hyun Bin with declarations of love. Hyde, Jekyll, Me airs after the conclusion of Pinocchio on SBS in January. [SBS fun E]
• Choi Won-young (Secret Door) will be joining the cast of Kill Me, Heal Me, which stars Ji Sung and Hwang Jung-eum. He’ll play the hero’s confidante who helps him deal with his seven split personalities. And whoa, it’s been 17 years since Kan Mi-yeon debuted as a singer with girl group Baby V.O.X., and remarkably, she hasn’t aged a bit (I want whatever she and Jang Nara are having!). She’ll try her hand at acting for the first time with a bit part in the drama as a mysterious woman. Kill Me, Heal Me premieres January 7 on MBC. [Joy News, Star News]


Choi Won-young, Kan Mi-yeon

• Filming has begun on FHM—Friend (or FHM 2), the Chinese drama and second collaboration between Park Hae-jin and Jin Hyuk PD. They had such a blast working together on Doctor Stranger, they’re doing it all over again, with much of the same crew. Zhang Liang and Xue Zhiqian are joining them, and the show will tell the stories of men in their 30s—their friendships, ambitions, dreams and loves. Park will play a warmhearted man who is as sweet as an angel. FHM—Friend airs in China in 2015. [XSports News]
• Park Jung-min (formerly of idol group SS501) has had to pull out of tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, Ho-gu’s Love. After experiencing neck and back pain, he sought medical attention and was advised that there was significant damage to his spine. He’s going to focus on treatment, and tvN is now searching for someone to pinch-hit for the character. Ho-gu’s Love is based on the eponymous webtoon, and stars Choi Woo-shik (Fated to Love You) as awkward Ho-gu and UEE as his love interest. The show begins February 9. [My Daily]
• The web drama Space Between: Sun-showers will launch soon on Naver tvcast, and it stars Ha Yeon-soo (Legendary Witch) and Yeon Je-wook (God’s Gift—14 Days) in a sweet and warm story. It’s based on the popular webtoon Space Between, and Ha Yeon-soo even sings a song for the OST. [Daily Economy]
