When you figure it, let us know. lol

I feel like I'm being spoiled this year 2 Noona romance side to side, with the same 19 years difference? *Cries* Two noona who has the power to slayed any men young or old? *screams* I hope they don't hold back like the producers/writers did with The prime ministry is dating. That drama had so much potential, but they held back soo much and drag the drama.

Oh, and their chemistry is on FIRE!

There is one more currently airing. You are forgetting to count Could We Love? from JTBC.

Year 2014 is gearing up to be the banner year for what you call noona romance as well as marital infidelity.

this should be called "noona needs a sandwich." she is pretty, but really needs to eat something. I thought so when she was on Noonas Over Flowers, too. As somebody on the back half of their 30s, I get the feeling of wanting to look young again, but there's gotta be a limit somewhere, right?

I'm not seeing it? She looks fine, and she ate a healthy amount in NOF.

in the top photo, you can practically see her teeth through her cheeks. If you are anywhere near that thin that you can see articulated bone movement through the skin, you probably have an eating disorder or are malnourished. It's unhealthy, and promoting that kind of thinness should be frowned upon.

She can be whatever weight she wants to be. Promoting thinness? You gotta be kidding me.

Required fields are marked *

She definitely looks old in the last 2 or 3 pictures of her. Maybe it's the hair, or lack of drama makeup. I'm worried the age difference will be too big here (in the drama, not in real life)

I agree.. I'm not sure I can oversee the age difference if she 'looks' old. The first pic is awesome.. but in the other two, she has an unflattering hairstyle.

But she should look old. They're supposed to be 20 years apart in the show.

But they could have picked a young actor who looks more mature. Ah In is 27 but he looks 20 to me. hmm, this pairing is not gelling with me.

Because he plays a 20 year old guy in this drama. I'm sold.

I have to agree with JH and Shaista. The large age difference is what attracts me to this drama. There are plenty of noona rom-coms around. Making the age difference a serious taboo is what makes it interesting.

The point of a relationship like this is that the woman is older. She should also look her age. This will not change the fact that she is also attractive.

An attraction such as this is not only about the looks it develops because on the close contact of the people involved. The things you begin to notice that have nothing to do with why you are together. The little things that make your sense tingle.

My thought exactly. I wouldn't buy the 20-year age gap love story if the female lead tried to look younger than a 40 years old woman.

That messy hair bun makes her look 15 years older. She looks great with her hair down.

Wow, Korea really ran out of mature male actors or good young female actresses so they have to pair up young male actor with older actress, or Korean like sugar mommies, cougars ???

Required fields are marked *

How about Koreans love noona-dongsaeng love stories because ahjummas and noonas make up a large proportion of middle-age individuals?

0

Required fields are marked *

This noona is most definitely looking forward to such a story. :D

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

What about the reverse? Korean pairs up young girls with mature men all the time and very few people raise a stink about it. Hello, Prime Minister and I?

The story itself is about pushing boundaries. Specifically about a 40-something w/ a 20-something. So, the casting is appropriate, unlike Can We Love which is all about 39 year old women except they're all portrayed by women in their early 30s as if 39 year old women can't play themselves?!

Required fields are marked *

Thank you for saying that about CWL. I enjoy the show, but it's a bit insulting that all of the actresses are in their early 30s. Like, are women over 35 so hideous that they can't be dating and sleeping around as the script requires? Come on.

Choi Jung-yoon is 38 (she'd be 40 in Korean age now) but the other two are what, 32? 33? It's ridiculous.

0

reply

Required fields are marked *

No, she's 38 by Korean age. She'd have to be a '74 in order to be 40 in Korean age.

(Which makes me 40!!!!! Just realized.)

Hear, hear. And forget Korea, it's a very common tendency all over the world to pair young actresses with male actors old enough to be their fathers. How about we not show ourselves to be total hypocrites by acting squeamish the minute the 40something in the equation is a woman?

Required fields are marked *

To be fair, I'm grossed out when it goes either way. Also, this is the biggest age difference I've seen yet (although I can't speak for every drama of course). I just feel like it's a little weird when she is literally old enough to be his mother.

I do applaud the fact that an older actress is actually getting a lead romantic role, however. The medium is definitely dominated by actresses younger than 40, usually younger than 35, reducing anyone older to a mother or a resident ajumma.

The age difference in Prime Minister and I was 21 years. The age difference between YAI & KHA is 19 years.

Required fields are marked *

I wouldn't say "few people" raised a stink about 'Prime Minister and I'. In fact, people would not stop it with calling Lee old and even a pedophile. I'm sure if he were a handsome flowery ajeossi, he'd get a better treatment though. So personally, I expected the same kind of shallow crowd to have an issue with Kim Hee Ae as well, since anyone but pretty and popular men seems to be unwanted.

If you don't like it, don't watch it, people. Humans date beyond age, social status, body type, looks and so many other things. If the reality of that is too much to handle, admit it and stick to other types of dramas instead of whining about a different romance and people looking their age. The age gap is the premise after all.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

Um. You realize this is the whole premise right?

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

This is an Ahn Pang Suk drama. It is not catering to whatever cliche storyline you are talking about. If you never watched A Wife's Credentials, you do not know what you are talking about.

Kim Hee Ae rightfully won her Paek Sang, one of the best actresses out there. Saying that they are running out of actresses is an insult.

That said.
