Anti-wedding hijinks for Mirae’s Choice

If there’s anything Mirae’s Choice (Future Choice) wins, it’s the This Premise Is New (And Maybe Crazy) Award. We’ve got a heroine (Yoon Eun-hye) battling her future time-traveling ajumma self (Choi Myung-gil), who wants to stop her at all costs from marrying the man she loves. What I want to know is, what the heck is wrong with future hubby Lee Dong-gun that requires such drastic measures? And are divorces not possible in 2043?

A second teaser reveals a little more about the characters and continues to be light rom-com fun. Mirae is an aspiring TV variety writer, but is used to rejection. One day her thirty-years-later future self shows up as a chic and bossy ajumma who declares that she’ll introduce her to a great man — not-her-husband Jung Yong-hwa, a secret chaebol masquerading as a VJ at the station he’ll own someday. (Below he’s pictured with Go Doo-shim, who plays his network CEO grandmother.)

Lee Dong-gun on the other hand, is a rather puffed-up news anchor whose name means “god.” No wonder he thinks he’s god’s gift to man. (Though that still doesn’t explain the Star Wars get-up in the stills, which hilariously came with no explanation. Closet fanboy?) I love that he’s introduced in the teaser as Mirae’s Husband (= Future Husband). We’re gonna get a LOT of mileage out of this one pun, aren’t we?

Yoon Eun-hye will naturally fall for him because duh, she married him the first time, only Future Mirae (lol) will stop at nothing to put the brakes on that budding romance because she knows that Jung Yong-hwa is the better choice. And they do seem to fit the Darcy vs. Daddy Long Legs hero types to a tee. As advertised, I think it will be a happy dilemma indeed. Yay for a new rom-com on the horizon.

Mirae’s Choice premieres October 14, following Good Doctor.

Looking forward to this drama. I liked how each teaser and photo still released actually stirs interest in the drama like it's supposed to. I like how low-profile it is too, not too much hype is good too so people can easily judge it based on its merits.

I totally agree with Mystisith and Toto! He's probably time-traveling too. Maybe that has something to do with why she can't marry Lee Dong Gun...?

Omg she looks super ugly in that haiiiiir ! Anddd the girl goes for darcy at the end ! Lol foreshadowing but I really think thta this drama is the journey of merai to the pst only to make fhe same choice even if she got a million chances its how she truly figers that her marriage is not what she thinks it is ! But what she and her husband made it to be not understanding each other and putting work btwn them (he got to be a much important announcer and she a hit writer *the future her is sooooo Sophisticated and elegant and rich *) and the kid she thinks is the better choice is the one go make her see truly what differences btwn her husband and other men ! Just aback up plan )
So tbis drama for me is and open book I can predict the end befor the beginning ! I hope that im fast judging and that I just got carried away with conclusions cuz I really want to be wowed not reciting what I already knew ! Im going to bet my sister on this vergion off the story hHHHH lol and ill bet u guys tooo
Thabks unnies u r awesome !

Is it just me or does Lee Dong-Gun and Jung Yong-Hwa look pretty similar?
Although I think Jung Yong-Hwa is still better :)
This drama looks good! Although I want to rip off that ajumma perm on Yoon Eun-Hye's head -.-

JYH and LDG do look alike but I think the far more pertinent factoid is that they're both from the same agency. Maybe casting JYH forced LDG's hand.

That's pretty much the only reason I can think of anyone casting JYH for anything.... other than the obasan fanbase in Japan which always comes in handy for the bottom line.

GO DOO-SHIM!!!! Wow, wow & wowx100. Her hair, her boobs , her clothes? Such a contrast from her role as Soon-shin's mom. Is this what SK's 'TV network CEO grandmother' look like?

I don't understand why JYH gets so much flake for his acting. If you look at the 2 characters he played before, his characters are supposed to be leaning towards the cold, emotionless type, and so he's only playing to character. I do admit that he can still improve as an actor and so I'm really looking forward to this drama to see if he is given a chance to act out some other type of character. I think it's great that he gets to act with YEH and LDG as well as some seasoned actors.

Because leaning to the cold side does not mean being emotionless. And he hasn't gotten this yet... I cannot say it was horrible (we've seen much worse acting) but most of the people who act like this stick to secondary roles. this guy has is one of the leads, we need him to take command and do better so we can love him more..

unfortunately...his prior roles didn't require any acting...as you say...emotionless...let's see if that's changed

Wait a second... I just realized something.

If Future Mirae wants Mirae to marry Seju, then that means in the future, Seju is still single and would want to marry Mirae! Does that mean Seju/Yukyung (which they seem to be implying) is just a ruse? I mean, future Mirae doesn't seem to be a horrible enough person that she would desire to break up another couple for her own sake, right?

Good point, but technically she wouldn't be breaking up a couple that hasn't happened yet.

I used to love Yoon Eun Hye but not in her famous role like Coffee Prince or Goong, but in Lie To Me. Sadly, my anticipation on this drama dampen because I loathed her acting viewing from the snippets.

Seems overacting and she potrayed the early 30's unmarried girl in the typical light of desperate and seems retarded. I was hoping that as a better actress, she could tone down the typical cliche but she dissapointed me by going the same direction without trying to establish the role in a more realistic way.

What's with the way she walk? And I don't find the scene of her singing "I Will Survive" and won the trip to Jeju is hilarious in anyway. Seems lame and retarded.

No hatred just dissapointed cos I always feel she is more talented than this. Hope my early judgement is wrong, though.
