Gong Yoo becomes Cyrano Agency’s newest client

How adorable is this? Gong Yoo will be making a guest appearance on tvN’s Dating Agency Cyrano, and he’ll be hiring targeted by our resident matchmakers to woo by his co-star Jung Yumi (Queen of the Office). It’s a reunion for the actors, who were paired together in 2011’s The Crucible, although I would almost say that that movie doesn’t count in the coupledom sense since it was so dark and weighty, telling a tale of abused children that was based on a true story.
Still, it’s a cheeky nod to put them together again, and I think the pairing is adorable. Gong Yoo’s connection to the show is through his close buddy Lee Chun-hee, who plays the mysterious Master who runs the restaurant next door and knows an awful lot about the workings of the dating agency. Hilariously, Jung Yumi plays a woman who can’t even look men in the eye, thanks to her “man phobia.” This should be good.
There have been tons of television shows that utilize the star cameo to bolster ratings, often to lackluster effect or sometimes for no purpose other than to say they scored a big name. But I think Dating Agency Cyrano has really used the cameo device as an actual asset rather than liability, with each client-and-target case occupying a two- or three-episode mini-arc. Thus far we’ve had Lee Yoon-ji as a snooping librarian, Ji Jin-hee as a lovelorn suitor, and Lee Kwang-soo as a dorky masochist. I’ve enjoyed all of their bits and have hopes that this one will continue that trend.
It’s reportedly not a very long guest spot, so perhaps it’s a shorter-than-usual case. The segment was filmed last week and airs in the show’s ninth episode, which broadcasts next Monday.

Aww, I really like these two together, especially in that ONE cute scene during The Crucible. I haven't been watching the show yet, but I am excited to see the guesting. I really like that and I think it's a smart way to do this kind of show, too :)!

I can't wait to see Gong Yoo and Jung Yumi in Dating Agency: Cyrano! He is just a perfect leading man and I love Jung Yumi's quirkiness.
So far I've loved the mini cases they've had and watching Dating Agency: Cyrano kind of reminds me of American sitcoms/dramas. Plus all the cameos have been great, and Javabeans you forgot to mention Taemin of SHINee's cameo as the K-pop star/highschool boy who was in love with the class president, one of the cuter and longer episode arcs of the drama thus far.

I just realized how fickle my k-drama love is - GY was at one point the love of my k-drama life but it has faded :-) But I still love him, just not as much :-) Oh what am I saying! In any case, happy to hear this bit of casting news

in today preview it look like Jung Yumi character will be trying to wee Gong Yoo character, because she the one who comes to them. I was excited because we'll have a female trying to wee a male.

OMGGGG. I can't even handle this news. I was on the fence about Cyrano Agency just because I'm having a slump with my current dramas (Gu Book/Lee Soon Shin) and didn't want to start watching another drama and be disappointed. Been keeping up with the recaps and I'm SO excited beyond words that he's back on our TV screens...SWOOOOOOOON. Can't wait for this.
Also, I felt Jung Yumi was underutilized in Queen of the Office even though she was technically...second lead right? So I'm glad we get to see her a little more in this and be technically lead in these episodes (ya know Sooyoung aside lol)
