Giveaway hootenanny: CDs and OSTs!
by javabeans
It’s a giveaway! It’s a hootenanny! It’s a giveaway hootenanny!
Here’s the shortened version of how this giveaway came to be: gummimochi says, “Hey, I have this CD I want to give away to fans to celebrate my anniversary with Dramabeans,” and we says, “That’s a great idea, let’s steal it and give away LOTS of stuff, because as we know, more is always better!”
So we’re giving away OSTs, one from each of us, just to say thanks for being you, and for sharing our neverending love of all things kdrama.
Rules:
Leave a comment here (with your real email address!), explaining why you’d like to win the CD of your choice. Maybe this was your favorite drama EVAR, or maybe you really want that disc to use for dart practice. Whatever floats your boat. You may enter for any or all of the CDs (separate comment per entry, please), but be sure to specify which particular one you are addressing.
Note that winners will NOT be picked in a random selection; each of us will choose one winner, to be announced next week. Meet back here on Sunday, August 12, for results!
gummimochi:
This time one year ago, I could never have imagined that I would be able to share my everlasting love for variety, drama, and pop music to a beautiful you. Putting all those together, I’ve chosen SHINee’s new mini-album, “Sherlock.”
Min-ho will be headlining the upcoming drama, To the Beautiful You, where he needs to be clued in that a he might be a she. Not like it takes Sherlock Holmes-esque detective skills to figure that out though, but hey – this is kdrama-land.
kaedejun:
Time flies when you’re having fun! It feels like yesterday when I wrote my first recap, and I can still remember that experience. 12 recaps and 2 years later, I’m still living through that experience – which I’ll never forget – thanks to Dramabeans, where discussion, fan-girling (or fan-guying), and sharing flow through like streams of consciousness during the lazy days of summer. Speaking of summer – this is why I’ve chosen the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. Its OST makes me think of sunshine, happiness, sunflowers, and daisies. Really. And it features CN Blue’s Jung Yong-hwa and Kang Min-hyuk, which is one of my few favorite bands (second to the almighty Big Bang). So I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and live this summer out as carefree and happily as the students of You’ve Fallen For Me. I’ll see you at the beach!
HeadsNo2:
This is a soundtrack near and dear to my heart, not only because Chuno will always remain one of my all time favorite dramas, but because it also represents one of my favorite aspects of dramas and Dramabeans – the ability to bring people together. By melding history with modern sensibilities, it’s a drama that broke ground and appealed to a mass audience, whether they were seasoned sageuk lovers or complete newbies to the genre. No matter what our favorite genre is, we all look for stories with the ability to move us, to transport us to another world, to be thought-provoking, to give us a reason to want to gather and share our thoughts, our experiences, and our love of community. One hundred posts later, I’ve definitely come to treasure the discussion that happens here and all the wonderful insights I’ve learned from our time together, and hope you can enjoy a soundtrack that moved and inspired me as much as I did, if not more. Oh, and ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥.
javabeans:
There are a lot of reasons for me to single out Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, like the fact that it remains, more than halfway through 2012, the drama that touched my heart the most this year. Other dramas had the big twists, the high drama, the epic conflicts, and the quirky high concepts—but Shut Up, despite its small world and small stories, had for me the sincerest connection with emotion and angst. The people felt real and the drama was fueled by that pounding, aching, fluttering and sometimes raging heart that drove its characters.
But you know what? All that aside, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band had awesome music. It had the deftest way of working its music into the plot, effectively making its soundtrack a running storyline like it was a character of its own. So there.
girlfriday:
An epic drama that managed to steal my heart in an epic way. The King 2 Hearts swept me up in its tense action, side-splitting comedy and sweet romance at every turn, and the score played a big part in keeping me enraptured in that world. It’s also a drama that reminded me of the fervor of fandom — you guys made the crazy train fun (also crazy), and I was happy to come along for the ride. This OST probably marks those few months in time — the OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT crack addiction — as much as the drama itself. Here’s to love in the DMZ, and sharing good dramas with friends from around the globe. Cheers.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST
It is my favorite drama and it was the firs drama that a can't wait for subtitles and watched without them even though i didin't understand 85 percent of it:D
It’s very rare that a drama like this comes along that is so raw and so unpretentious but so full of heart that you can almost swear those characters are real people, that their pain is your pain, that their problems are your worries, that their pursuit of dreams and happiness are what you aspire and wish for. I just wasn’t expecting such a deep, moving story. The characters are brilliant. I loved the friendships that they had together.
It is only drama that hit me about lives in struggle as this drama showed, the plot, characters, and story is just perfect setting. and the only drama that made me actually cry and laugh my heart out at times, songs is always stuck in my head and heart...
this was the most rocking, realistic, bromantic, love angst, and what you will give up for your dream and to make it happen.

Hello! I would dearly like to win the Chuno Ost. Historical dramas such as Chuno are are truly breathtaking works of art that truly captivate me with their exquisite beauty, cinematography, and dramatic plot. Besides serving as a source of entertainment, they teach us priceless and important lessons that we are able to cherish in our daily lives, such as lessons of courage, commitment, and diligence. They also educate us on the fascinating and colorful history of Korea, portraying the lives and culture of the inhabitants of that time. Chuno for me is an unforgettable drama and experience, with its rough but gorgeous story and the wrenching grief, sorrow, hanging suspense, subtle humor, and dark action that it employed. I also had an opportunity to look into the dangerous lives of slaves and slave hunters . Please, please entrust the CD to my possession for I know I will cherish it forever

For me, it's You had fallen for me. despite the fact that i have not watch any single episode of the drama, i was still in love with all the song when listening them on youtube. being single for too long, I hope one day that love will come and the songs really make me feel happier, less lonely, and the fantasy of love.

OMO!!!! This is awesome! I'd like to enter for the King 2 Hearts OST!!! It was the first currently airing drama I've watched, AND I only decided to venture into it because a few of the recap summaries written here on Dramabeans for the middle eps snagged my attention enough to read the full recap and then I knew deep down I had to check it out. :) The K2H has an irrevocable place in my heart, I was SOO happy to discover the songs at the beginning of the recaps are sometimes downloadable, and I've listened to "Hang Ah's Dream" hundreds of times by now. I've been into soundtracks for a looong time, and K2H is first drama to blow me away with the music. I would be ecstatic if I were picked! Thank you for this awesome (or rather daebak? :P) chance and for all the hard work all of you put into this site!! It is a most wonderful and helpful place!

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band
Probably one of my top dramas of ALL time because I'm a huge sucker for bromance and underdogs. Would anybody believe me if I said that I'm still having withdrawal symptoms? Hyunsoo still breaks my heart. And Byunghee. I miss Byunghee. ;_;
I love that the music only enhances the drama, rather than distracting us from the plot. Also, having this OST would only enhance my love for Dramabeans. *winkwink* ;)

SHINEE SHERLOCK.
Shinee's Minho was my first "serious" celebrity crush. I remember watching variety shows with Shinee as guests and listening to all of Shinee's songs; I have their first and second CD in my car. I remember back in high school a bit after they first came out I dragged my friends out to a restaurant to celebrate Minho's birthday with me...and they amazingly stayed friends with me haha. I've also recently joined a kpop cover group and did a dance cover of Sherlock and Replay (oldie but a goodie). ANYWHO I'm terribly excited for "To The Beautiful You," I've seen the Japanese drama "Hana Kimi" and I'm hoping the Korean version is a delightful surprise.
Charisma Minho fighting! :]

The King 2 Hearts OST pleaseee!
I watched this drama was because of Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won were starring it. I was curious with this pair. But it turned out, I'm into this drama! How Lee Seung Gi was so smart-ass and how awesome Ha Ji Won's determination! And of course the love line between the princess and Eun Shi Kyung which was so epic cuteeee. Shi Kyung shouldn't die :( he's such a loyal guard for the king and a frustrating man for the princess. He's way too cute!

Shut up flower boy band OST please. Thank you.
Absolutely love the drama and the songs!! I searched the album but couldn't find it. I try to download it but couldn't find all the song!!! Damn my limited to greeting korean language. *sobs* So hopefully by winning it I can listen to all songs until my room mate's ears bleeds... I mean, until I satisfied.
My favorite would be Lee Minki's Not in love and L& Hyerim I love you, I like you, partly because I loveeed them my Infinite boys and Minki but mostly because listening to it always makes me wanna re-watch the drama.
p/s: darn... looks like most ppl want SUFBB OST. ~le sigh

I would shamelessly like to ask for SHINee's Sherlock :p
A few reasons why
1. Onew's love for chickens is as pure and passionate as javabeans love for dramas.
2. Jonghyun's voice give me goosebumps...so does Head's Dr. Jin recaps.
3. Minho's flaming charisma is very much like girlfriday's fiery love for Choi Han kyul ♡
4. Taemin's and kaedejun's genders are pretty much a mystery to me :p
5. My love for Divas like Key and people who come up with fantabulous giveaway ideas like gummimochi is thiiiiiiiiiiiiiis big!
So you see how much SHINee can relate to my dramabeans family ♡
Besides this SHINee is one of my most favorite band :)

SHINee's Sherlock.
Simply because I'm hooked to anything Hana Kimi, despite how obvious the plotholes are, and To The Beautiful You strangely lead me to start digging up Min Ho (and SHINee). Am not a kpop fan - heard of them, but I have no idea on the kinds of music they played, but the drama made me googled them up, watched them on few variety shows, aaaand I started to get addicted to Onew's ttakbam (now this is random LOL). So if the album could make a SHINee fan out of me, (and a kpop convert), then be it. :-)

August 5, 2012 at 9:00 PM
After watching You're Beautiful, I was estatic that Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa was finally going to get their happy ending. I really really really really want this ost cd because this was the first drama that I finally got my not- kdrama fan sister to go heads over heels for. Please kaedejun. This would be an awesome present and would make me the happiest fangirl. This drama has one of the best soundtrack, in my opinion. Even though the story itself was flawed I kept watching because of the music (and also for park gi young's yummie six pack. Hehe.) Thank you very much. Fighting!

I would love to have the You've Fallen For Me OST CD! Coincidentally, the drama aired the summer when my friends and I were spending our last summer together before we parted ways, I and one friend to graduate school, and another to a different country. The music especially the title track "You've Fallen For Me" and the gukak-pop fusion Carmen remind of my last carefree summer with my best friends from college, and every time I listen to those, I feel like I am reliving the summer of 2011 all over again!! Absolutely the best summer ever for a light drama and excellent company!!

I would want the you've fallen for me ost cd, why you ask? because just like this website and all the recaps you guys provide i've fallen for it! I personally loved park shin hye and Jung Yong Hwa in You're beautiful and was really anticipating this drama. Although the drama did not live up to my expectations, the music made up for it where I think the plot didn't. I probably would have stopped watching the drama all together if the music sucked, but it didn't so i continued to watch :D I'm a big fan of CNBLUE as well so thats another reason why I like the OST and why I want it! ^.^

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST
Which is kind of funny because of all the dramas, this is the one I haven't actually watched yet. It's been on my list for AGES. It's always on my list. I'm always JUST about to watch it and something happens or something comes up and I don't have time to start. And then I start a drama because I forget this is on my list, and just when I finish some other drama I remember about this and...run out of time.
I really, really want to watch this drama. It's my type of drama. I read the recaps (was in school when this was airing) except for the last few and it's just the kind of drama so full of heart, but at the same time so real and so deep...that I know I'd fall in love with.
...I just need to start it. Hopefully having the OST would give me a physical reminder of that important part of this whole drama-watching process...
(...if Shinee didn't look girlier than me in their Sherlock album, I might've entered for that one LOL. But alas, Taemin...once again...does... I'm so curious, yeahh~~ ...on how he manages that.)

King 2 Hearts please.
Although it's not my favorite drama this year, (so far Bridal Mask is occupying that spot) definitely King 2 Hearts truly touched my heart. This drama had so much heart amongst the good guys (Jae Ha and his brother, Jae Ha and Hang-Ah, Shi Kyung and Jae Shin, and just the entire royal family). The bromance, the romance and the family.
Lord knows how many times I cried when Jae Kang died. The music totally tugged my emotions along each episode. I could feel how beloved the king was, how much Hang Ah and Jae Ha cared for one another with the beautiful background.
So much heart, this drama.

Hi!!! I'm Katasu1996!!!
The CD I'm requesting for is the King 2 Hearts OST. The reason is because there are very few dramas that have made me cry. This one has. There are only three other dramas that have eer made me cry. They are: Boys Over Flowers ( this was my first drama, so although I see it's flaws now, I still love and cherish it as what made me fall in love with Korean dramas), Playful Kiss (I am a sucker for the main leads), and IRIS ( when Seon Hwa confessed to Byung Hee and was rejected... I really cried than. I love the actress that played her and I love the character Seon Hwa so much... Even now I'm a little bitter when I see Kim Tae Hee on other dramas. Just a bit, since I love her too.) However, King 2 Hearts really broke me. That show will always have a place dear to my heart despite the fact that it has flaws. It's like BOF to me, I will watch it again and again and I will recognize its flaws I didn't see while I was glorifying it, but it will always have 60% ratings to me. So I hope I get the CD!!! Thanks for reading!!!

though the fashion is ridiculous, some of the boys looks hilarious, onew's voice is very pleasant to my ear. i have always resisting shinee's music despite my love for onew, so maybe Sherlock is the opportunity for me to embrace their music, as a key to open the lock in me ^^

Chuno OST
I will always have a soft spot for Chuno, before this drama first aired two years ago (has it really been that long?) I never cared to watch any historical dramas; the language was too difficult to understand, the plots seemed too complicated, and my lack of knowledge of Korean history made the historical dramas that I had previously tried watching unappealing and I would give up after the first two or three episodes (ex. Jumong and Emperor of the Sea). I developed a habit of avoiding historical dramas for a few years and then I was persuaded by my love of Lee Da Hae from her My Girl days into giving the first episode of Chuno a try and after the first episode I was hooked. The gorgeous cinematography, the epic fight scenes, the chase scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat, and the unforgettable love story of Dae Gil and Un Nyun captured and held my interest for the entire 24 episodes . Throughout the 24 episodes a wonderful OST was playing in the background; not just a collection of random songs by popular artists but within the songs were also stories about the characters. In particular, I enjoyed Im Jae-Bum's "Brand" which I thought suited Dae-Gil's character perfectly; the heartbreak, the anger, and the passion that lived inside of Dae-Gil. Was this drama flawless? No, absolutely not but I was thoroughly entertained and emotionally invested in the story and the characters; I desperately wanted to see Dae Gil and Un Nyun reunited, I cried when they cried, I smiled when they smiled, and I screamed at my computer screen every time they narrowly missed reuniting. It is for these reasons that Chuno will always have one of the top spots in my favorite dramas list.

SHINee's Sherlock, please~
SHINee's Sherlock mini album was quite exciting for a fan like me, who had been waiting for a year and a half for them to release something new in Korea. Granted, I wasn't too happy when they suddenly had bared torsos in their photos (I prefer my idols fully clothed, thank you very much!), but every time I listen to the songs, particularly Honesty, I am amazed at how far they've come. They've grown so much from the young teenage boys singing about loving their noonas, and not just visually! Four years ago, I would have never imagined I would hear their voices during popular dramas like Boys Over Flowers or City Hunter. I definitely would have not expected to see them on the small screen either, whether as cameos or main characters. It would be great to win the Sherlock CD, so that I could hold it in my hands and be proud at how much has changed for both SHINee and me in the years preceding its release. Plus, Sherlock still makes me want to dance whenever I hear it, and I definitely need the exercise this summer!
Thanks dramabeans for this giveaway!

Chuno, please! :) I've always thought that sageuk dramas have the best OSTs because it's interesting how they blend traditional elements from the past with modern-day flair! It's just strums a different tune than say the K-pop madness. It's good music accompanied by an amazing show. Eh, Lee Da Hae, I could've done without but I fell so much back in love with Jang Hyuk and Oh Ji Ho that I swear I binged on all the movies and dramas that they were in. Jajangmyun, anyone?

Shut Up flower boy band OST for sure.
I've seen so many dramas and movies but this remains as not also one of my faves but also one of two i would be willing to put down money for just for the soundtrack ( but i thought i try my hand at this giveaway ^^). I'm picky when when it comes to music but this ost seemed to be composed of all my favorite things like blaring vocals and the awesome use of the word "Jaywalking" which i totally loved :D And even though they played the same Jaywalking song over and over again I could never get tired of it like a certain "paradiiiiiiiisssssseeee!" (which is still lovable)

If I could win any of those 4 CDs, I would like to win the Chuno OST! This was my first saeguk drama, so it brings back good memories. I remember looking through all the dramas on dramafever, trying to pick one to watch. I came across Chuno, starting watching it, and became hooked. I really like the actress Lee Dae Hae (My Girl), and I believe that this is her first saeguk. She carried herself very well and had one of those sad pasts that everyone wants to know about. My favorite character was Oh Ji Ho. There are so many words I could use to describe him. He's perfect, hot, delicious, charismatic, and a man of honor (Haha). I thought that the OST that accompanied the drama was very fitting. This drama was epic. I would really like to win this OST, simply because Chuno marked my first saeguk and I have great memories that come from it. I would like to thank all the bloggers for providing kdrama addicts with the latest news, and drama recaps. I've been visiting this site for about 2.5 years and it has become my favorite website. We really appreciate the time you take to recap things, so that others can enjoy. Thank you :)!

I'd also like to put in a word for the Chuno OST. If K2H is not fated to be mine at this time, then this is hands down my second choice. :) I was actually scrolling through the list (pleading silently for K2H to be on it!) and when I saw Chuno, I thought, "oh yes!! I loved that music as well!" Chuno was one of my more recent finishes and my first historical drama. I really loved that the music was modern, epic, and still fit and helped set the tone so well. I'd love to have it in my collection, it would be well listened to, I promise! :) Again, thank you all for offering these to us! And my congratulations to gummimochi on her anniversary! :)

I would love to win the Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST (along with all the others, but hey, you can't have it all) because this drama to me was absolute perfection. Seriously, my favourite drama of all time (followed very, very, closely by King 2 Hearts). This show stole my heart from the very first episode. It had so much heart and it really warmed /my/ heart. The ending was soooooo perfect; everything was wrapped up neatly in a way I definitely was not expecting but it was just perfect.
As for the OST itself...flaw free. 10 tracks of utter perfection, what is not to love? My favourite OST to go with my favourite show. Brilliant.
Not In Love was (and still is) my jam. Totally my jam. I loved the Crystal Castles version in the first place, but replace electro with rock and ohmygosh shahsjdxnsdjjanzkxzkksjnsnansjsn. Not to mention Lee Min Ki's /voice/. And speaking of gorgeous voices, freaking Sung Joon. I love those two ballads he sings, and Jaywalking is an equally amazing song. Everytime I listen to it, flashes of certain scenes appear in my mind and it makes me want to rewatch the show over and over again. SO GOOD. And the very last track, Dear Friend, is so beautiful. Words cannot even begin to describe how gorgeous it is to me. When I listen to it, I relive all the angst, the pain of Byung Hee's death (SOBS) and every bittersweet moment, but oddly enough, it also makes think of slow motion laughter scenes, and the boys doggy piling on top of each other, and the boys eating ramen together and the boys being just too fucking cute. Wow that was a long sentence... That song gives me so many feels, the OST gives me so many feels and that whole drama gives me so many feels.

I've recently started listening to more K-pop (other than just what I heard from dramas), and I've discovered that I have a real weakness for SHINee. I can't even explain it, but every time they come on, my head starts bobbing and I'm ready to dance.
Maybe I'm not a real "fan" yet because there are only a couple of their songs that I recognize right away, but, hey, I'm new. I'll get there. : )
Thanks, gummimochi!

The King 2 Hearts OST please. The instrumental tracks of this drama were pitch-perfect in depicting the emotions of the scene, and resonating with the character's every feeling, and even went as far as relating the audience to the emotions the characters were feeling at the moment. This drama's conflicts were very character-driven, and I just fell in love with the story and the conflicts they faced.

SHINee’s “Sherlock” I was a fan of them from the beginning wanting to be everyone's Noona. (especially Taemin's!) I cannot wait until Min-ho starts the new drama. I hope that the Korean version will be the best one yet! Min-ho fighting!~~

Brilliant.

The King 2 Hearts OST
I don’t really know why I love king 2 hearts OST. The songs are all emotional and I really enjoy to listening to them. Whenever the music start playing at a particular scene I find myself paying more attention to it that the drama. I guess you don't always have to have a reason to love something.

The Chuno OST. Everything about the script was pure perfection to me. Of course it helped that the drama had an amazing soundtrack that made the dialogues carry that much more meaning. This drama will always remain a favorite.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST
This drama really has left an impression on me as well. I still feel at loss by the fact that Lee Minki dies. I knew he was making a special cameo and would have to eventually leave, but when that scene came..my heart just sank. The rest of the boys did a great job carrying off the drama into a new direction. I love love love their friendship and wish I had something similar to it. As I'm typing this, I'm listening to Wake Up by Sung Joon :) kekeke. Getting my hands on the real deal would sincerely make me so happy. I love all the OSTs fromt this drama.
Yikes, sorry for the paragraph.

OMG you guys! You're all SO FULL OF AWESOME. <3
The only one I am interested in is JB's pick (though I loved everyone's little story about why they chose what they chose to give away).
SU!FBB is a drama that touched me to the core - an aspect so sorely lacking these days as I continually churn dramas after dramas back2back, whether old or new. The funny thing was I didn't even WANT to watch it - I was all stubborn and adamant not to join the wagon - but when I finally did - completely on a whim - it literally hooked, lined and sinkered me. I remember shedding tears - what a surprise, because I often don't tear up watching shows - and just feeling gutted, reeling for days after. Even when I finished the show, I remember attempting to write a review to do it justice... and realized I couldn't, because how does one encapsulate so much awesome and heart that defined the show? How to justify exactly why it worked and touched me to the core?
Months since that never-quite-written review, I feel like maybe I've now found the answer: it brings me back. It personally was not an easy show to watch - I could relate to their sentiments on so many levels - but that was exactly it: show had heart, and presented them all bare and honest. PLUS it was also solid in terms of writing and directing, what chock full of awesomeness.
So much respect for this show that winning the CD (from JB personally too! Signature please haha) would be strawberry on the cake! :)

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST!!
Shut Up flower boy band is my favorite drama of all times. It had everything i loved packed together adorably in a drama: bromance, adorable couples, and most importantly a lesson learned at the end.
Though this drama wasn't a hit in korea, it will always stay in my heart as the best drama of all times! No matter how many times i rewatch it i will never get sick of it!
I would be in heaven if i happened to get the OST! adkfjlskdj their vocals adf;slkdjsl so lovely! My favorite song from the OST is Jaywalking. I love the casual feel of the song and how it connects with the main couple (lol rooftop couple my ultimate otp!)
And thank you all for being so kind and starting this giveaway =D

This entry is for the Chuno OST
First and foremost, I have to admit that I dropped that drama halfway through and did not finish it. However, the fact that the OST still lingers with me until this day and that I still have pangs of epicness sweeping through me every time I'm listening to it proves that it was... well epic.
Whenever one of the songs starts playing, I'll have flashes of epic stories going on in my mind. I used to write a lot when I was younger (albeit not in English since mine is not so great) and I'd dreamed to be a writer. However, I was so lazy that those epic and tragic love stories that I love so much end up staying in my head only. Then I discover that one song from the Chuno OST (one of the main song, the one sung by Beige) through a SKKS MV, and I spent that whole day writing down notes, ideas, dialogues and scenes. You could say that that OST is giving me inspiration, or maybe I'm using its epic-ness as my muse, but something that can make me write again will always be a keeper :) I'm reading all the pages that I've written down that day right now, and I couldn't be more glad to have discover that wonderful soundtrack
