Twelve Men in a Year adds to cast, releases preview
by javabeans
Twelve Men in a Year is getting ready to unveil next month, and here are some stills and the first preview for the rom-com drama starring Yoon Jin-seo as Miru, a writer who takes on the idea of dating a man from each zodiac sign. Hence, twelve men in a year.
Ohn Joo-wan (My Love By My Side) is the main love interest, and Go Jun-hee has been cast as a photographer who works at the magazine. Now Bae Geu-rin (49 Days) joins them playing a character reminiscent of 200 Pound Beauty‘s Hana; she gets full-body plastic surgery and transforms herself into a beauty.
At one word of praise from our hero, Bae falls for him and chases him around, which sounds like a cute loveline. Bae Geu-rin has a cute charm to her acting, and she showed us that she could play the part of dogged admirer as A.N.JELL’s fan club president in You’re Beautiful, which means Ohn Joo-wan may find his hands full fending off her advances. Hee.
Heroine Miru starts out as just your ordinary staff writer for the magazine, and when the dating writer fails to deliver a column, she pinch-hits. Her twelve-zodiac-signs idea arises out of this opportunity. She’s described as a cute character who has the occasional flare of temper, which I can totally see; she’s great playing sassy (Runaway Plan B).
Cable channel tvN may be smaller than its broadcast counterparts, but I’m really liking its approach to branding. On one hand you’ve got the Oh Boy series targeting teens and twentysomethings (Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band), and on the other you’ve got this emerging target demographic of the twenty- and thirtysomething careerwoman, with fun, breezy shows like I Need Romance and this one. The channel’s got a sharp focus, and it’s going after its goals aggressively, which seems to be working.
Twelve Men in a Year is based on a German novel with the same title (Zwölf Männer hat das Jahr), written by Martina Paura and published in 2005. The drama premieres on February 15, making it a Wednesday-Thursday drama. It’ll run for 16 episodes.

Ok. I'm liking the main character already with her short hair and flannel (plaid?) shirt. It speaks to my inner tomboy. Like. And if it hooks me the way I Need Romance did, than I'm so there.

Yeah, that also caught my attention. :)
I love the fact that she doesn't look all cutesy from head to toe, and is dressed a bit more tomboy than the average female lead.
I think I will enjoy this drama :D

Love her haircut and her style. Modern not showy. Took me awhile to remember who BGR was in 49 Days. This keeps looking better and better!

Finally a short haircut on a heroine that actually looks good! Loved her in Runaway, and this story sounds so cute. Looking forward to it.

Twelve men in a year that corresponds to the zodiac? Heh. My inner Fruits Basket fan fangirled for a moment despite the irrelevance.
But goodness, I love her hair. I like the sound of her character. And the plot. Kind of reminds me like an Japanese dorama or josei manga.

Hahaha. Why am I not surprised that Shigure is mentioned here? He's everyone's first choice when it comes to Fruits Basket.... Everyone that I know that know Fruits Basket I mean. XD

I love her hair too! Ohhh The very thought of Fruit Basket gets me warm, bubbly yet a little bit sad, something about the anime was bitter sweet. My favorite character is Momiji (usually I'm not too much into the chibi characters in anime/manga), but by god do I love Momiji Sohma!
I even named my laptop Momiji 'cause my computer totally has a personality, and on occasion I sing the Momiji song with unparalleled mirth (my brother knows all about Momiji even though he has never actually read or seen Fruit Basket).
Boy, do I digress! I blame you Luraaa (cool name by the way) for bringing up Fruit Basket, haha. Anyways, I'm now overcome with anticipation for this upcoming series.
Long live Dramabeans and all of you Earthlings!

what's with all the leading ladies cutting their hair super short? i think her hair is too short for her and it makes her look like a sick patient or something..the trailer looks cute but i don't know if i can get pass the hair cut =/

There was a Bollywood movie called "What's Your Rashee" (What's your zodiac) that had the same concept (probably based off of the same book). The movie was soooo terrible! Hopefully this one is considerably better

That's the first thing I thought of, too! Heh, I thought I was the only kdrama-obsessor who also watched bollywood. BUT this is automatically better for me because there is only one girl and twelve hot guys (in the bwood it was one guy and 12 of... the same girl dressed differently)
Anyway this actress is so cute! And I'm glad this is a drama instead of a movie.

well,
western zodiac would deal with months
chinese-zodiac would deal with years
i can understand western, but chinese will have huge age gaps. hmmm, we shall see.

Let's hope it will be as good as My Sweet Seoul (I doubt it :P ) . My Sweet Seoul was so good because they didn't care about the ratings, only the quality of the show.
