Whenever I think of dokko Jin and his pain I feel sad for him. Why can't the last two episodes come now?! Why do I have to wait for one more week for dokko finish his surgery and aejung to fess up' :(

I've seen a lot of heated conversations on some threads, which kind of leads me to two thoughts. One, being first is not of super importance. (HOW DARE YOU BE UP AT 12 AM) Two, a negative opinion is still an opinion ... but please add something new to the conversation. Like back that opinion up with some plot choices you hate, or how ugly those pants that dude wore, or horrible facial acting some person has, whatever.

This is exactly how I feel...
I was the skeptical fan, wondering why the Hong Sisters chose older cast members (well except for Yoo In Na, Da' Hawtness!) for this drama. Then I watched the slap on Ae Jung's face - Tendrils of emotional attachment started to grow in my heart. Every week I anticipated new episodes, and the tendrils sprout vines and azaleas and potatoes and pororo toys and vitamin water. Any semblance of rationality slowly died in my heart, because Show, I like you so much. No. I LOVE YOU!

I don't want you to end, I'm afraid the tendrils will never recover from the heartache.

What a wondeful week in Kdramaland:
Best Love and Dokko Jin (yes, I jumped ships again) is still number one in our hearts. LTM keeps making people go mad, and is just so entertaining to watch the smack down. I'm still loving the show. Puppy Chunnie is sooooo cute, I just keep smiling at the screen each time he comes up. Loving to hate Jang Mi Ri, such a different character. I Need Romance is looking good, let's see if it keeps it up. I mean, a hot kiss scene in the first minute? By prince Yul? I'm there!. Sparkling/Twinkle Twinkle is getting sweeter... candies for everyone! I just saw Shity Hunter episode 7. How can a mask look so HOT on someone???
I don't know how things are on Tdramaland because I haven't watched this week's Drunken to love you yet.

Will greatly appreciate your clarifications/comments on the following:

1. On Korean names
Why is Pil Joo sometimes called Dr. Han? Isn't his surname Yoon (sometimes spelled Yun)?

2. On English subtitles of kdramas
In most, if not all kdramas, English subs use the phrase "send home" rather than "take home". For instance, in the sentence "It's late. I'll send you home," the context is that the speaker will go with the "you" which is different from the usual meaning of "send home" where the speaker stays put and the "you" goes home on his/her own.
Is this an example of Korean English? If so, is there a convention in English subbing/translation where the accepted idiom in Korea is the one preferred, even if the intended users are, presumably, English speakers and non-Koreans?

3. "I like you"
Koreans, like other Asians I guess, tend to use the word "like" to denote romantic interest more than Westerners. I've watched a lot of American movies and rarely, if at all, will a character confess his/her romantic interest in another character with "I like you." This statement would be taken in a more generic sense.

On the subject of confessing one's love, I like that in kdramas (e.g., Playful Kiss) and also in Tdramas (e.g., The Devil Beside You), no one seems to frown on female characters doing it. This would have been seen as too forward some years back. Do these reflect what society at large think? I consider it a definite step towards gender equality.

As if I am not watching enough dramas already, I started My love by my side this week, and Im loving it. I was waiting for the sub, but it's not very popular, so the sub came after. I have seen until episode 5 (Its subbed until 7 i think) and because is a 50 episode drama, they can use more episodes for the set up. I have never watched a long drama. I have watched one telenovela of 80 episodes (its awesome, I love it, I have watched it 3 times. I downloaded most of the episodes. Oh Its Corazon Salvaje, 93 version) and betty la fea has 163 epsodes, more less. And in all the cases there are side stories that frankly, I dont care about some of them. For example, everything related with the grandma, the sister and the aunt of So Ryong, the uncle of Mi Sol and another parts, I skip them.
But everything else is ok. Suk Bin is a chicken. I understand his mom but hey lady, it takes two to make a baby. I know she is trying to protect his son, but he is responsable too. Im confussed about their realtion ship, They were boyfriend and girlfriend? Really? The dont looked like it. I felt she was his stress relief and well she wanted too. But she mentioned love, so she belived the loved each other.
I was against abortion. Lately I dont know if I would not consider it, but everything I saw about abortion in school is pretty terrible. But its also terrible if you have a baby and you cant feed it,or give it a home, education. And you have to want it and love it. (it? sounds like if i am talking about a thing, but i think its the way i have to write it)
Mi Sol is brave. I couldn't wait and I check the raw episodes and his mom supports her. Thank God.
I love her name: Do Mi Sol. So musical. And this drama is one of those where the man has to win again the woman. I LOVE that stories, and this time i think it would be the same, but Suk Bin has to do many, many things. She has So Ryong, its ok.

Ah! too long. Something quick. Mi Sol's mom is Yoon Sung's mom in City Hunter. And Mi Sol's teacher is Seung Il's teacher in Baby Faced Beauty.
And names. Ki joon is in Lie to me and City Hunter, and Yoon Joo is in Romance Town and Lie To Me.

Have somebody watch "Marriage" with Jang Nara? Is it good?

Whoa! This is such a hectic week. Kdrama-wise, I have never watched as many currently airing dramas all at the same time. Best Love, Baby-Faced Beauty, Lie To Me, Can You Hear My Heart and City Hunter. If I had double the time that is allocated for all human beings, Id probably watch all the other shows airing now. I now look at the pile of books on my desk that I had to sacrifice to watch these shows...argh! And the yards of fabric that I wanted to sew up into a dress, all lying there uncut. And the new muffin recipe I was dying to try out. Plus the asian noodles I hoped to learn to make with my own hands. All will remain in my feeble mind. Mind full of potatoes, and flowers, and pororo toys, cha seung won's greatness, hong sister's awesomeness...pig's feet dinners, soju drinking, and daniel choi dorkiness... endless text messaging, ice cream and cola kisses, writing gone crazy, couple gone messy.. piano lovin'... hot pink pants on men and particularly on lee min ho! my mind is on kdrama overdrive....will i survive? ;-)

I need eng sub for Best Love ep 13 & 14 now... I am crying so much for just reading the recap.. this is so good... and I really would hope a happy ending.. but if it end up to be some like 49 days.. i guessed I would be ok... I enjoyed the story and how each characters developed throughout this drama.. and may I say the acting from the main lead are superb and even the supporting cast. I just love this drama to pieces.

Loving CH... I think for not having too high of expectation at the beginning is actually making me like this drama more... of course LMH is such an eye candy... how can i not like this drama..

Then while waiting for the sub for best love, I marathon the first 18 ep so Can You Hear My Heart... I heard so much good think about it.. so I can help but to check it out myself... and I am so glad that I did... it's so good.. and may I say I am loving Nam Goong Min right now... he is so good in CYHMY.. I first saw him in One Fine Day with Gong Yoo... but he totally steal the show on this one...

As for Tdrama.. Drunken to Love you/Love You is so good.. that I don't want it to end...

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! All I got to say is that this week has been the most happy-cheery week since a long time and I hope everyone is enjoying it as much as I am. The reason for my euphoria is my admittance to veterinary college!=DDDDD *sings* I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!!!!

Hello from the eastern standard time zone :) It's now almost noon. Lunch time.

I am currently watching LTM which I love love love. I know the smack on this one is great but I still can't help but love it despite all its flaws. Watching it over and over and still love it. I dropped BL and CH for the time being cause I ended up only having time for one. But I will pick up CH first and then BL whenever I get a chance again. I read the recaps by KJ here on Romance Town and think that I might give that one a chance. I heard it's not for everyone but it does sound interesting despite the flaws in that one too. I will end up watching BFB since I like JN, especially in kdramas (as opposed to c dramas), but I want to marathon it.

However - I am really looking forward to the upcoming Han Ye Seul / Eric drama!!! :) I really hope it's entertaining. I have no real expectations but it looks interesting and I've been waiting for Eric to be back in the drama. Not sure that I like the red hair, ok I don't like it much - but still can't wait for it to air.

City Hunter this week was awesome !!!! especially the cliffhanger at the end of episode 8... =0
