Yoo Ah-in goes boy scout for High Cut

The newest baddest Bad Boy in town, Yoo Ah-in (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) poses for a playful shoot in High Cut, straight on the heels of his buddy Song Joong-ki‘s spread. I see what you’re doing, High Cut. Don’t think I’m gonna fall for your bait and spend my day watching Yeo-rim/Guh-ro MVs. I have willpower, you know!
The shoot’s concept seems to be camping-related, though there are no woods to speak of. Mostly, Yoo is his adorable self in what appears to be a losing battle with a sleeping bag. I mean, why take a hottie and then shove him into an amorphous sack? Are you mad at us?
If you’ve caught any of Yoo Ah-in’s reality series Launch My Life on Mnet (a sort of documentary-ish thing, following him on photo shoots and such, like this one shot in LA and Vegas), you know why I’m calling him the new Bad Boy About Town. He’s taken the hot-and-cold / gruff / 까칠남 thing to a whole new level. It’s morbidly fascinating to watch him diva-out or spiral in a mood, and yet at the same time, it’s kind of refreshing to see someone just speak his mind, even if what comes out of his mouth is completely unexpected. You can actually SEE him turn on the charm whenever he damn well pleases… which is both curious and totally infuriating. Heh.
When I’m watching that show, I alternately want to scold him, kick him, and give him a hug. He seems loose and free and naturally gifted, and yet so at odds with being a star. There are some actors who always live in that in-between space: they hate the camera and yet live for the camera. That’s what he seems to be, in a nutshell. Though lord knows that version of Yoo Ah-in on Launch My Life is just someone’s interpretation as much as anyone else’s.
What’s clear is that he isn’t what he appears, and then some. And then he goes and does a photo shoot like this, where he’s looking like a goofy kid, and…it’s all sorts of confusing. Yoo Ah-in: the guy with a million faces, that’s for sure.

Although the very first picture was downright fantastic... He looks so tough, but kind of cute at the same time. I know it's weird that there are no woods in this photoshoot, but YAH's fantastic enough for us to forget that.

I thought the same too as I was watching the show. He's so damn conceited (more than I ever expected), has a really terrible mood swings, he seems always bringing the 'idgaf' attitude to others whenever he feels like it. Yet, somehow he acts all sweet (mostly when he's in a drunk state)
Yoo Ah In, hmmm... I agree he's a man of millions faces, with a complex personality to boot.

I was very disappointed to find out his rude attitude.
Some fans are defending that he's just a straight-forward person. But i am not liking how he makes the co-workers Noona's all uncomfortable with his abrasiveness. It seems like they fear that he'll just leave.
In any chase, i only watched 1 ep..i may be totally wrong and quick to judge.

I dont know what to think of him now. He's rude. I understand if someone is frank / speaks their mind in a way a celebrity usually wouldnt but this isnt it
He shouldnt give his attitude to other people.
He isnt even that big yet i wonder what he'll be like if he rockets to full on stardom and has even more to deal with on his plate.
I really liked him and i still give full credit to his acting chops but i cant say i respect him (As a person) anymore.

He isn't a rookie at all, he's been in the business for years. He won Best New Actor twice. But somehow when he gets too popular after a successful show he would lie low for quite some time. What he likes is simply the job, not the immense popularity that comes with it. He would've been more popular now if he just basked in the limelight and the attention people give him.

I was also kinda surprised after watching the show...but then I thought it was more because I had romanticized him as an actor after watching his characters. He's not Prince Charming, but then again he shouldn't have to be, even if he played one really well.

I watched the half of 1st episode and kinda surprised with his attitude.
I didn't think he could be such a diva like that, even though I know why he did that, the Maxine Koo's attitude is not better from him to start with.
And the way Mnet edited the show, and the PD's narration kinda makes him so arrogant. But it's indeed an interesting show. Most of young stars usually act proper and behave in front of the camera, but he seems ' i don't give a damn, i don't like it, i want to get outta here'.

Me, too. He's adorable without the scruff, but even though I know he's legal I'm still creeped out when I perv on him while he's looking like that.

this is why i love him...have you read his tweets??....he can be totally insightful, deep but very cynical and dark as well ...he has such layers that i cant help being fascinated by him...and this part of him makes him an incredibly interesting actor to watch on screen

What makes him interesting is that you either hate him or love him.. but I think that's what made him real...
Of course, its a very unusual attitude from a young actor from SK because most of them are so polite, corteous to their staff, sunbaes and fans but I guess he was pissed off first by Maxine Koo's attitude. I don't want to think that the success and attention he got from SKKS made him act the way he did at the show 'coz it was too soon. I know from past interviews that he's really moody and such but not to the point acting like super-diva. But you can't really trust these shows.. they're reality but still scripted and the image that YAI and his mgt wants to project is still the bad boy Guhro..

Im not going to pretend i know YAI or anything but from what he writes you can get a sense that he feels like being a celebrity forces you to uphold a certain image and if anything YAI is someone who doesn't like to mould himself to fit with other peoples expectations.
Hes both cynical of media and fame but its also a medium through which to express himself....like what GF said "they hate the camera but live for the camera"
so maybe thats why he acted that way...also he hates things like variety shows and things like this...maybe it wasnt something he wanted to do in the first place?

Yeah, I don't want to think that SKKS made him like that & like red I'm not going to pretend to know him but when I was watching a Come To Play episode with the Antique Bakery cast, Kim Jae Wook & The Goong Main Lead Boy (always forget his name) were like 'he was so nonchalant when he greeted us even though we're sunbaes'. So I think he's just like that.
