im happy about this news..... :)

Thanks GF for this bit of news (which seem to have caused quiet a stir here, hehe) and for JB's elaboration on the "serious actor" part.

For me who knew MY only from SKKS and LDH from My Girl, this new project sounds like a delicious rom-com/sageuk :-)

But with the 2 other serious actors thrown in, well!!! Sounds more promising, eh?

JYJ and MY fans should be very very honored, if this project will push through, that their idol can rub elbows once again with artists of such calibre. I think his "seriousness" despite his idol image when he took on the SKKS drama merits him the curious speculation of many if he can truly transcend the idol image into serious acting. He just needs a series of right projects with the right directors/writers for his acting chops to be harnessed and showcased. Very interesting to watch! I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised...

Agreed. This is a very odd set up with this line up but I'm getting actually really excited about what Goodbye Ms. Ripley might be!! Everyone involved has been so tight lipped about it (the basic one sentence plot/premise still isn't out!)

I love JYJ, I love YooChun. I'm looking forward to his next drama. Just I'm afraid if in middle of filming if Kang Hye Jung gets notice more, Da-hae might quit. I like her before but her recent actions, i hope she learns that she doesn't have to be perfect. No need to be defensive all the time, simple reaction is more appealing than too much drama. She can't have at the same time, If there's an offer more pleasing to her, she might drop out of this again, which I'm hoping. If this pushes through, more appealing to me is Kang Hye Joong-Yoochun pairing!

I don't have any bad sentiment towards LDH (though she's the one who make herself worst to public), the only thing I'm kinda unsure about is her bland acting, she tends to just following the script, she doesn't have the skill that makes me go "WOW!" so far to me.
It would be much more interesting if LDH is paired with KSW. While Yoochun with KHJ. That would be amazing. I can totally see the dynamic of their romantic relationship. KSE is an actor who is really dedicated to his role, if he'll be playing an intimadating role and that would be good for LDH, he can bring her up to his level. And so the same case with YC-KHJ pairing, the woman will make the man bring out all his potential. Or so what it seems to me. That will make the show more interesting. Imagine if the PD/writer puts YC-LDH pairing in the center of the story, it's like bland meets bland. I just hope the script as good as the original version, and please you guys, especially LDH-YC don't fail me!

I really agree. I somehow feel that there is some very weird inbalance... Micky performed well in SS with a relatively strong supporting younger cast. But now he has to act with an older much more experienced sunbaes... [and i am not referring to lee da hae]. maybe if kim seung woo were the main lead and micky were the supporting, then it wouldn't feel so weird.

but who am I to judge? by some stroke of luck, the script might require stronger acting from the supporting cast instead...

Isn't Lee Da-hae a SME artist? Are they really going to allow a drama with Yoo-chun?

LDH reminds me of stepford wives. Age is not the issue here for MYC, it's her mannequin look.

Lee Da-hae was GREAT in My Girl (even today is a beautiful drama to watch). She is a good actress.
But I have never seen Micky in a drama. I have to watch S.Scandal.

As much as I'm a big fan of mickey via his SKKS drama. Like GF said, this collection of stars is a little bit iffy. I didn't see much of Kim Seung-woo works even IRIS/Athena but I've seen enough of Kang Hye-jung works to say that she is indeed a veteran actress. I like her in Flowers for My Life and Welcome to Dongmongkol not so much in Old boy and Rules of dating. But yes, she is a very talented actress. As for LDH, the only project of hers that is so worth mentioning, for me, is My Girl because that is a Hong sisters drama and no matter how bad an actress you stick with a hong sisters, it will still sell out. But with this Goodbye Miss Ripley...hmmm....I only hope Mickey momentum as a rising actor doesn't make a dip. I also hope he is paired up with KHJ instead.

^^ I 'll probably give this a try but if this drama airs the same time as "Discovery of Affection" by the Hong sisters then sorry my dear mickey, I might bail out.

I don't like the pairing.. i love micky soooooo much! but i hate lee da hae as much as i love micky.. grrrrrrrrhhh.. can it be me instead???? gish!

LDH for me is a good versatile actress. I am always looking forward to all of her upcoming projects, whatever they are. That's all I have to say!

i know about this comments war from my besties whom happen to be a fangirl of yoochun just like me... she said it's pretty hot now in dramabeans thx too this article and i was like "Haaa... finally..." hahaha

i have no problem of how JB and GF put this article, explain serious actors and etc... yes yoochun is a great singer and talented composer. That i agree more than anyone else. As for acting, he just started it and it turns out to be not bad compare to other idol turning actor. Compare to actor who start their career originally as actor (like Kang Seung Wo) there is no doubt that yoochun still lacking with...

In acting, yoochun still has a long way to go and many other ways to choose. Sure enough that he has talent in acting, possible to be next big thing as an actor but will he pursue that more than he pursue singing only he knows the answer.

So let us just rest in peace now, watch until we heard that the drama actually begin filming and cross our finger to see if yoochun can bring the same quality or even better acting in this drama...
