Rumors abound for Kim Bum’s return to dramaland

There was a bit of a dust-up early this morning about everybody’s favorite man-boy cutie pie Kim Bum (The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry, Boys Before Flowers) possibly returning to dramaland, not just as a drama hero, but as an outright sword-wielding hero-hero.
There were reports confirming that he’s been in martial arts training to take on the lead in SBS’ upcoming adaptation of the manhwa Honorable Baek Dong-soo [야뇌 백동수]. But then those stories were promptly pulled, and now there’s back-peddling afoot that he’s only “considering the role among many other offers.”
Boo. I originally had a chorus cued and ready to go, but then I had to tell them to pack it up and come back when reports were more conclusive. Such is the world of internet news, y’all. My source article literally disappeared into the wind by the time I’d written my story. Is it a metaphor for my life? Or have I just not had enough coffee?
Well, regardless of casting, the drama will be a fusion-sageuk manhwa remake, so expect something like Sungkyunkwan-meets-Return of Iljimae (in my hopeful version, of course). Who knows what reality will bring. I’m not in charge of those things, but I’m in a hopeful mood today, so I’m going with Forecast: Cheesy…But Awesome.
The titular hero Baek Dong-soo is a character based on a real person who made a martial arts guide during the Joseon era, in the reign of King Jeongjo. The fictional story takes off in the mystery/conspiracy of Crown Prince Sado, as almost all heroic sageuks set in Jeongjo’s reign do, even if tangentially.
Honorable Baek Dong-soo plans to air on SBS in July. Something tells me that Bummie can rock a mane of glory. *tries not to get hopes unreasonably high*

i died.....thinking of him folding laundry and smiling that damned smile of his because the towels are so fluffy and soft... maybe even wearing a "snuggle bear" costume... ive gone too far now.

I think there was a laundry folding scene in the woman who still wants to marry. I haven't seen him in anything else and I thought he was attractive in that role.

But you know if you imagine Bummie in fusion saeguk drama, don't you think that would be awesome!! I finally found my second Kang Dong Won (I've been missing him terribly since he entered army months ago T.T)
And if the cast consist Yoo Ah In, I think I might gonna die from happiness. But I think that's just too good to be true.
That's why he's been keeping his long hair these days.

i wish to see him in an modern drama..still cant get over his role in BOF so it would be awesome if he could play someone like that again xD

How do you figure, Clarenoona? No, seriously, because I luhves me some JGL (that voice, DAMN), and if Kim Bum has done anything besides TWWSWTM that is also Gordon-Levitt-like, then I want to find and watch it.
Also, Girlfriday, Kim Bum kind of looks like Kim Soo-hyun on that photo. I mean, it could just be the racist in me thinking that all Asians looks alike, but they've both got that sparkly-eyed, gorgeous man-child thing going on.

Hmm, I don't know... Kim Bum just reminds me of JGL, I guess. Their style seems similar... And I know Kim Bum still has a long way to go to get to JGL's caliber, but he has time :-)

OMO This needs to happen, STAT! Bummie in a sageuk?!?!? As long as it's a fusion one, in a traditional one his adorable cheekiness would be stifled by the stilted speech. However, in something like SKKS-meets-RoI, he would be AWESOME.

Would LOVE to see Kim Bum tackle this type of role - he needs a leading-man drama to push his career - this just might do the trick for him.
And I can totally see him rocking a "Mane of Glory" along with sword skills!
The highlight will be those cute, devilish eyes of his peering over the silly half-mask all our bandit bad-boys sport, (while saving the world and the girl!)

Honorable Beak Dong-su is going to be some cheesy teeny-bopper stuff? But I thought it would be like... I don't know, like Jejoongwon with a dab of fairytale aspects.
And I was so pumped after hearing both Choi Min-soo and Nam Ji-hyun are attached to the project...

I am WAAYYY too excited about this! I love him so much from The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry. I really, really wanted a boyfriend like his character, Ha Min Jae. And yet....Wouldn't it be super awesome if Yoo Ah In took the lead in this saguek. Tears of joy would seriously damage some computers! ;)

Every since I seen him in that one piece swim suit in BOF, he lost his appeal. I know I'm being shallow but when there nothing there then it just nothing. Save all your relpy I heard it form my sister already I know I'm just "Wrong" but to make it "right" the lead actor in City Hall, can wear tight pants any time.
