New set of Paradise Ranch posters

Paradise Ranch has released a couple new photos for the drama, which will be halfway through its 16-episode run with this week’s episodes.
The first shows a kiss between Changmin and Lee Yeon-hee; if you’ve seen the series, you’ll recognize the scene from their ill-fated young marriage. (The couple divorces within six months and then meets again six years later.)
The second poster takes a cowboy theme and also includes Joo Sang-wook, who seems weirdly cast as he comes off as a full decade older than the rest, making his presence incongruous with the others. But this poster isn’t so much real Wild West cowboy so much as it is amusement-park-ride-themed cowboy, with the over-the-top costumes and toy props.
The drama has been performing about as well as expected, which is to say not very well, though not quite in bomb territory either — firmly in the 6% to 8% range. It’s about par for the course for this SBS Monday-Tuesday timeslot, though a bit lower than its predecessors by a percentage point or two and still trailing its competitors, who air news in that hour.
I’ve gotten numerous requests (and some demands) for more Paradise Ranch recaps, but I have to tell you that they’re not going to be forthcoming. And, given that I find the show awkward and a little bit insipid, you probably don’t want me recapping them anyway. It’s not as horrible a mess as I was expecting, but there’s just no pull there; I don’t get any captivating energy or emotional tug from it. Sorry to say.

"Awkward" is the best way to describe this show... I am still watching because I kind of want to see how the characters get back to each other, but I have a feeling it will be pretty predictable and more "awkward" than anything.

omg same here. my love for lee yeon hee is just not working too.
the show is just so dayum awkward that equals to boring, uninterested & so forth but i'm only watching cause i wanna know what happened between their failed marriage & how they are gonna reunite after that than good bye awkward show.

And also, I just can't really feel any romantic chemistry between the leads. I expected ex-lovers to make me feel something y'know, from the moment they first saw each other again., but i couldn't even feel it during the scenes when they were young and married. Well i still plan on watching it to see if any chemistry develops still..and see how they get back together.

Agree! I wonder why I watch it, yet I don't see myself stopping either. I've been drama-less since Secret Garden ended and I coincidentally have a bias for Changmin. Even with the bias and all, I want the big reveal to happen soon so the plot at least picks up from there.

they chose wrong for the male lead..
if the posters werent so direct and episodes predictable, i would have hoped for that the female lead ends up with the smart businessman.. the spoiled heir is sooooo boring

Although I'm a TVXQ fan, it's disheartening to say that the only series that stars a TVXQ member in it that I have finished would be Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Ide. Chagmin, he's so amazing onstage. I think that the drama itself is a awkward (not the actors alone, but the whole thing). >< Aigoo. I couldn't even bring myself to watch episode 1 until the end. T____________T

Ditto for SKKS... its the cracktastic and addictive drama of the year 2010!!! who would miss that?!?! Another $150 off my dwidling budget for the Director's DVD cut :) Thanks to Yuchun, It's the reason I got introduced to TVXQ in the first place. Maybe these idols are amazing on stage singing but really, most of them are awkward when translating on the small screen. Of course with few exception like mickey yuchun and Lee seung gi to name but a few. Also you are right, its the story itself too - very predictive and recycled plot. But same as jb when I don't get the pull usually @ 1-2 episode, I bail out. Sad to say, Paradise ranch is no paradise to watch for me.

Oh yeah, I'd prefer him to be the lead. He have this very strong aura. Captivating. that's what a main lead should be.
He has this very natural acting vs the lead. (no offense) I guess bec. Changmin has still this " acting cute" perse. Not impressive. But since by nature i giving the benefit of the doubt. For Changmin, i'm thinking, just maybe....that's what the drama calls him to be. overall, as far as this drama is concern, Joo Sang-wook steals the most of the attention.

the story and cowboy theme is just weird. plus changmin and lee yeon hee make not-a-so-interesting-couple to me. i was initially going to watch it for yoo hana but even she can't save this show. overall very weak. i think its a good idea not to recap

well, no suprise there if U decide not to do the review anymore..the reason that im still hooked at this series is changmin (im his bias!).. and i also want to know wat are the reasons for both of this couple to get divorce after 6 months of marriage..other than that, doesnt appeal much to me.. :(

about PASTA!!
I would not have watched it otherwise. But I am currently glued to the screen and enjoying every second of the interaction between the leads. It is thoroughly enjoyable.

Demands? Well, that's just...the audacity! You're under no obligation to provide recaps, sheesh! Sorry. Rant over.
My own thoughts: not as bad as I thought it would, but not particularly good either. Not quite as middling as It's Okay, Daddy's Girl, but not as fun as Pasta. Sorta somewhere in the middle.
I think the lack of chemistry is killing it. The leads seem like they should make a perfectly respectable couple...but don't. Not really. And they haven't really played up the cute either, which I think is an odd directing choice. I'm usually a sucker for the comedy of remarriage (Kiss Me Kate is one of my favorite movies), but I don't know why they haven't harped on this in the show when it's a goldmine of cute AND romantic. Is this not a romantic comedy?

I'm on the viki team so continue to watch, I must.
Awkward doesn't even describe it. Her acting is over the top and he has one and a half facial expressions. I will say though, my Joo Sang Wook Oppa has some super cute moments.
Btw does the sister annoy anyone else? Oh and she looks way too old to play a high school student.

I feel sorry for poor Joo Sang Wook being in this stinker. Hopefully Thorn Birds will be better! Until then I will just rewatch Giant when I need a JSW fix. :)

I think the Drama over all is not HORRIBLE..is just there. I'm watching cause I need something to watch between DH and MP... :P
The story is getting interestes cause it seemed that both second leads were also married to each other, but after a year of divorced they reunite once again. So, that caught my attention, so I might keep watching to see how the whole thing unravels.
But I agree JB, to be a small drama with no great viewership anticipation, is doing well.

You are wrong.. the second leads weren't married. The second guy was, and the second girl had a crush on him, but gave up when he married, but after a year they met again, and I think her feelings are coming back.
His ex-wife is a bitch, I know it because of teh preview, she appears of nonwhere and says
''Let go of this hand'' ''I'm his wife'' and shocked faces everywhere! LOL XD

Viki is subbing it? Are there any soft subs ? I read that GOESS is subbing it but they are slow ... compared to WITHS2. I appreciate that subbers are putting their efforts in but these days ... having to wait more than a week for subs is plain painful. Perhaps that's why there are requests and demands for recaps.
I like soft subs cos I can pop them into my media player -along with the 720P files and beam them on my TV. It is HEAVEN.

I can put vids on a flash drive and stick them right into the USB port on my bluray player but I have yet to figure out how to get it to play subs if there is even a way. And yes, it is heaven watching my shows on the TV instead being stuck at the comp!

It is the best thing I bought last year (my Iphone is a close second). It plays AVI, TP and MKV files etc and best of all, it plays soft subs. You can adjust the font size, position, colour and timing of subs.
Sooo.... I just dump all my files into Mr AC Ryan and beam them to my TV with the HDMI cable. :) And boy, you can tell the Korean actors/actresses all have great skin. The 720P files are good enough. 1080P files are too big at 9GB each and take too long to download >_< .
I highly highly recommend Mr Ryan. One of my colleagues has 2 - one for bedroom and one for living room.

This show is sooo adorable for Changmin. He is tooo cute. Yeah so what if he isn't supposed to be that cute and is supposed to be older and more polishedly spoiled. I like it! He is cute!
Changmin fans unite for his cute! To heck with the show being good or not. It is dang entertaining either way!

Girl, cute is not a talent and nor a way to sell dramas. Not all the viewers out there are fangirls who just wanna sit in front of the TV to watch some cuteness. and mind you 60% of the viewers are Ahjummas.
Plus I feel like this drama is just a way of SMEnt can put their artist as a lead especially that whats-her-face-who-can't-act-to-save-her-life.

I'm watching the show, but more out of boredom than anything else.
I think it's the first time I realized, without someone pointing it out, that the reason I don't like this drama more, is because of the bad acting.
The story is well-known, with it's rectangle-love and everything is as expected, but well aplied cliché could work...
So really it's the awkward acting.. I'm still watching though xD, don't really know why ^^

To be honest , i'm watching the drama bec of Lee Yeon-hee. I'm so curious about her. why? she is being paired to hot guys .. Gong You, Song Seung Hun, Hyun Bin! she must be doing something good.
Not a real , real fan of her, but i like her.
The first time i saw her on "One Fine Day", right there and then, i knew she has this "it" factor.
Surprisingly, this drama introduces a new guy to watch for me. TaDA! presenting Joo Sang Wook , the new guy on the block. added to my list :)
JB/GF, No worries about the recaps. You're not oblige. As long as the DH and the MP are up, no complain.:)

being paired with hot or untalented but famous actors-not because she is talented-totally no IT factor there.It is just pure marketing, -how good the company pushing it for her to get the role and how dumb the director to believe she can act.

I started watching this from Ep1 and the story line is okay, but for some reason, I keep watching this show.
Yeah the cast is a bit off, I'm not a fan on Lee yeon Hee literally screaming and making her a huge clutz in the show (Wasn't a fan of her in East of Eden) but at least she somewhat matches up with Changmin...
I really didnt think the 2nd lead Joo Sang Wook would be so good lookin! I've never heard of him or watch him in his other dramas till I watched Paradise Ranch.. but he's definitely got me hooked to watch this.. (plus a cameo in My princess !) but other than that I might actually keep watching this..
