Behind the scenes on the set of Athena

I love seeing happy pictures from a serious drama. These stills from the set of Athena: Goddess of War show the cast in a much lighter mood behind the scenes, when they’re not busy running around saving the world. I’m really enjoying the drama thus far, mostly because although it’s the same old spy stuff, it’s got a really great cast of characters that makes me invested in the action.

Kim Min-jong as the shady Northern defector-turned-ally is my personal favorite, and I’m also really digging Su Ae and Jung Woo-sung‘s dynamic, wherein she’s the uber-badass black-ops spy, and he’s the competent but less-badass slacker. There’s actually a moment where he’s smitten with her because he watches her kill people. It’s sick and twisted and totally awesome, only because they’re both spies, and he has no idea the extent of her actual badassery.

The stills are from the latest episodes in Japan, and also on the set of NTS headquarters. Athena airs Monday-Tuesday on SBS.

Jung Woo Sung with a serious face and a peace sign! *dies*

Funny to see Su Ae all smiles while her character always makes fake smiles.

And Kim Min Jong with the fan! That is so Asian, indeed. He's adorable in the series actually, and I'm loving him as much as I love the triangle between Hye In, Jung Woo and Son Hyuk (not on Jae Hee though because she should know what she's getting into from the start).

And that picture with bloody CSW and the other guy he fought with and the cake? Priceless.

I LOVE ATHENAAAAAAAA and to tell ya the truth i was chocked that lee ji ah was the second lead in that series but i got hooked up from the first epi and i think but not sure that ae and cha will get killed in the end even i like them both i dont wanna heartacheing ending iris ending really suckes it was gonna nearly be happy till they ruined every thing in last 30 sec of the ending even if lle byung hun cant continue part 2 it was unfair to end it like that i know it'slil bit shallow but i hate bad ending any way i can tell ya that athena cast is really great all of them specially the north korean guy i was gonna drop dead from looling when he start puching the man who was gampling in his face soooooooooooo let's cross our fingers for athena to be one of the 2011 hits

I truly like the acting of LJA in Athena. To me she is perfect and awesome actress, though she had only 3 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She can portray and immerse any role given to her once the camera start rolling but quiet shy during press conferences. She is pretty and beautiful within. I have read in some articles in "Soompi, Ah Ah and etc. which have several positive reviews/comments and praising LJA for her excellent acting as well as being pretty and beautiful whether in a simple/without make up. So Lee Ji Ah keep the good work and don't be discourage for any negative remark for they {anti-LJA} have nothing to do, just envious and always have a crab mentality.
