Congrats Ryu, all the best to you and your bride. But right now I am having an issue with this. Is it a sin to use birth control in this country? I wonder about that a lot because it appears that very few persons actually use them there, this is shown a lot in their dramas and real life. Which I find in poor taste - what's wrong with practicing safe sex?

The other thing, is that I don't think we all need to know that she's pregnant, its early yet. We can find that out after she gives birth later, but this announcement to me is sort of tacky & redundant - like saying "we had sex, she got pregnant, I'm marrying her, ah well." Though I'm sure that's not what they meant, but I'm a bit tired of this as this has become a very common announcement among celebrities getting married. Cant you just say, we love each other and decided to marry, thank you for your love & support; the rest to be frank is really nobody's business per se. I admire Song Ill Kook for doing that, he got married some years ago and we don't even know if he's a father, which is fine with me. Yet he is still very popular with a good fanbase locally & internationally. I don't mind sharing good news to the fans, but sometimes we don't need all the information, some will do just fine.

I guess it's because they wait until the last possible minute to get married due to all the "pressures" of being a celeb (that's my guess). And maybe some of them want to extend their "single" status for the fans so they don't get married until someone gets preggo. Heck some don't even get married until after they've already had kids (although I haven't seen that too much in Hallyu / Korea).

I'm not a big fan of his but congrats to him nonetheless.

I like how Lee Beom Soo handled his wedding albeit a second marriage after a failed, short-lived one years before. He met his girlfriend in 2008, introduced her & confirmed their engagement in 2009 and in early 2010 announced their May wedding. Though smaller in scale compared to the exclusive Jangs.. it's nonetheless a beautiful, sweet and heartwarming ceremony with family and close celebrity friends. And they recently got pregnant in June but released the happy news in October when she's truly 4 months into the pregnancy.

I agree with you. Basically, the situation is they are dating someone regardless of what they publicly proclaim. And the girl getting knocked up becomes a pressure point (and like someone said, a necessity) to tie the knot. It has been the case for the longest time and will remain this way for the longest time to come

And considering these celebs have to hide from the pararazzo, fans, netizens, they hide behind closed doors (and in some cases their tinted MPVs), what do they do ? Watch a DVD or discuss global warming ?
