Awesome song of the day, I'm just getting into Arcade Fire after accidentally leaving my tv on PBS, and watching a live preformance from Austin City Limits.
On to dramas, I won't lie, my hope built a little bit for Playful Kiss after seeing that extended trailer. I like that the main girl is strong and has some feistiness to her. That was probably the biggest issue I had with the Taiwanese drama, if she had been feisty and ready to defend herself, the being a jerk would have been more tolerable. In terms of the lead boy not being able to act, eh. I mean, unless they are just really bad, it's not a big deal for me. I guess especially for a story like this one, which I don't think is this really new or epic drama.
But I'm going back and forth with Woman Who Still Wants to Marry and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. The first is really wonderful, Kim Bum! The second is amazing, I've only seen the first episode but your recaps are awesome!

From what we know via this blog, Han Ye Seul was being tossed around to play her character and the project as a whole is having some difficulties. I think that its mostly financial, so getting it off the ground has been near impossible. However, I'm hopeful that before he finishes his upcoming drama, we'll hear some good news in that arena.
I was really forward to that movie, over this role that he's slated for at the moment, so I pray it works out.

Happy OT everyone! I am having fits of exultant laughter right now! I got one of my friends hooked on K drama! We both "work" in the computer lab at our school, and every time she would come in to relieve me, she would kind of roll her eyes at whatever drama I was watching.
But oh how the mighty has fallen. A week or so ago she was channel surfing, and came upon MBC showing a drama. She was riveted, it was soooo funny and look at all the hijinks. She was hooked, but she didn't catch the shows name. She tried to find it to no avail, and suffered all the agony of withdrawl - especially intense because well she was just at the stage of wonder and discovery.
I ran into her yesterday, and the following conversation issued.
friend:" I like Korean dramas right now. But I can't find it anywhere I don't know the name..."
me: "just tell me what it"s about."
friend: ' I can't really explain it, the guy is an architect but not really.."
Me: "I don't need to know anymore. I know what it is."
So I hied her off to dramafever, pulled up Personal Taste and gave her the password for my premium account. We were just friends before, but now I have the feeling that we are going to be soulmates. 'Cause the bonds of K drama addictions are unbreakable! :)
LOL, Thanks :) It feels so nice to see someone else discover the awesomeness that are K dramas. She hasn't seen anything yet, and there are so many possibilities. I was thinking of rewatching MNIKSS with her. Do you have any other suggestions?

I don't feel so silly now being addicted.I am on days off today and called my cousin who lives like 3000+km away and her husband was suffering from KD withdrawels.We can't get good legal subbed copies of KD drama...sigh.
Anyway I agreed to download all 20 ep of City Hall (fansubbed) and she gets it off my Mediafire files.I feel as if I am such a geek.However I only became like this post KD addiction.
I keep telling other people who buy DVD sets that the subs sucked that it's better when you actually get an accurate translation.KBS at the moment produces the worst subs EVER!! The person(s) translating needs to be sacked.
I wish! My brilliant flashes of intuition and information synthesis happens only when K dramas are concerned. I kinda feel guilty about getting her hooked though. She is studying for the mcats and she still needs to take physics and orgo II this year...........a very very bad time to discover K drama. Lucky for me, I discovered Hana Yori Dango during summer...... ah my first drama, so many nostalgic memories! :)

Great song of the day. Their new album is mindbogglingly good, and dare I say it, the best North American record in the last 10 years. I would rabble on about Arcade Fire, but I shall control myself. Looking forward to Playful Kiss, but I have been disenchanted as of late with the K-drama scene. Lately I've revisiting the good days of Coffee Prince and Kim Sam-Soon. The recaps of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho are enticing, but I'm waiting until it ends, so I can have myself sleepless weekend.
I need to have my confession today. Well, I'm a teacher, and 2 days ago, I almost tempted to confess my kdrama addiction in a class full of students. A subject of favourite tv shows came up in the class discussion and a few of the 18-year-old students started to mention kdramas and gave synopsis of few of them..
..and I found myself getting really excited, and started to correct them on the drama plots, the actors name and such. At one time, I was so close to brief them the differences between historical sageuk and fusion sageuk, but stopped myself before things got any weirder. *sigh* I seriously need to practice self-control.
Really, how was it received? Last semester, I had this really cool, tight knit workshop class, so I felt comfortable talking to them about my Kdrama obsession. I wrote an entire short story based on that one scene from Cinderella's sister; when the guy tries to grab Moon, but missed and tookcout her hair pin and all her hair came tumbling down. That was so eerily beautiful.
And whenever I got carried away, I would appeal to the lone Korean girl who was also in the class. She would just look at me in bewilderment, and say "Viola I don't watch dramas!" The teacher referred to me for the rest of the semester as the Kdrama girl. ;) It really is an addiction.
okay. now I'm having the fear of being found out by a student. :D
p/s Don't tell the other teachers that I only pretended to do online research. It's so hard to suppress giggles watching MGIAG & reading the recaps while pretending to have a serious online discussion with a fake supervisor.. ;p

Happy Fridayyyyyyyy!!! It has been a long couple of weeks. I think I missed OT last week too. Just too much work to do. But, omo omo omo, MGiaG has been making the weeks bearable. I'm not even minding the weeklong wait between eppies cuz I just do rewatches of the old ones. SMA is beyond amazing. I can't even describe what a complete joy it is to watch her as MiHo. She has such range of emotion and facial expressions ... it's just fantastic :)
The Hye-In noona on the other hand.... I didn't like her in the bits of BOF i saw her in (where she wasn't an evil villian), and i don't like her now. Something about her just irritates me to no end. Maybe cuz she is just so princessy and entitled. Ugh. can't stand that.
And Gumiho Hunter - umm... anybody else think he is WAY too pretty? I mean, he is kind of otherworldly pretty. Throw a wig on him and he's prettier than most girls I know. Hell, shave his head and he's probably prettier than most girls still! Sigh, I'm just jealous of his utterly flawless skin. What I'd do for poreless skin, you don't even know lols.
his stage name is Rose?! yes, very appropriate. SO PRETTY. seriously. i couldn't stop staring at him throughout the first ep cuz his face was so flawless. and totally like anime. I know people say dbsk's jaejoong is the anime prince, but um, have they seen gumiho hunter guy?! haha. sorry, i can't get over it :P

Sunday: not-so-good feeling: sore throat which progressed to a progressive body weakness
in-between: fever while on an aircon...I know it's stupid, but some stupid neighbors were up all night on their effing rented videoke machine on the fXXing street!!!
Monday:
-38.3 Celsius FEVER!!! As a result, whole day bed rest in exchange of a one day absent. DX
-(then there's just this one eensy weensy incident involving a bus on a wide grandstand, STUPID POLICEMEN, and widespread panic & pandemonium...nothing too great, really, when you've got a country against you, NO~)
Tuesday: besides stressful activities when I got back from my absence, I made my own sim card rejected!!! GRR!!!
(the prepaid load got wasted!!!)

-YAB - yes, I find it hard to let go of things you really love...
-G(umiho) G(irlfriend) (recaps) - I lurve that UEE (not as a national fairy bitch, but as a scared student freaking out due to her hamburger missing its patty) & Park Shin-hye (strangely as Go Mi-nyeo (or was it Min-yeo????) who looked like she never stepped on a convent, became an A.N.JELL, or ever metHyung-niiiim)
-First Wives' Club - yes, I heart this drama. My fave moment: episode 63, when Han Won-soo was violently knocking on Na Hwa-shin (with the adorably cute Goo Se-joo)'s rooftop flat, due to the lights going out (suspiciously?), and Won-soo's jealousy (if you could call it...meh :P) kicking in, and Se-joo (not Mishil, XD) coming out dressed (or rather, making it look like) in only his untucked & unbuttoned dress shirt for all the world (and the neighbors & fangirls O_O) to see. I laugh like crazy... XD

So last week I bonded with my little brother over Avatar: The Last Airbender after noticing in past OT's that some of you great people are fans and hearing complaints of the general crappiness of the movie through friends. And I have to say, I LOVED it save for the disjointed feel of s3. And I'm totally disappointed that Zutara didn't end up together. Was I a blind viewer or did I sense some SERIOUS chemistry in practically every scene they were in together?? I feel like I've been watching a kdrama that screwed up the OTP and left a huge, messy goo of WTFery behind...
And now, wonderful OTers and lovers of A:tLA, I ask you to guide me in the only way of healing my defeated expectations: what Zutara fanfics do you recommend? :)
I've always wanted Zuko & Ty Lee to end up together! It's like in Kdramas where the old male lead changes after falling in love with the energetic and loveably female lead. The writers have obviously never seen any kdramas -sigh-
Avatar!!! I was always a Zuko/Toph fan, tbh. Man, that would have been an awesome pairing... "I want to go with Zuko! Everyone else has had a life-changing field trip with Zuko, its MY turn!"

I don't pick what drama to watch base on its rating (whether it comes from JB/GF or other rating source), although it is one of the consideration. I usually choose after I read the recap, if it is good, and suit my personal taste, I really considerate to watch it. So I'm wondering the reason behind you,JB pick one drama to recap among other or invite someone to recap one drama than you do it yourself?
I rely on your recap glossary right now (write them down and go searching for them)
I've come to the place where I can't watch without subs... I was watching 'cliff hanger- next episodes' Raw, and then watching with subs when they came out. BUT - what is happening is .... on some level I am understanding more than I thought. When I watch the subs it it feels like I've watched with subs already. Is really really exciting and scary at the same time.
This is truly k-drama addiction :) I can live with it.

I keep telling other people who buy DVD sets that the subs sucked that it's better when you actually get an accurate translation.KBS at the moment produces the worst subs EVER!! The person(s) translating needs to be sacked.

I wish! My brilliant flashes of intuition and information synthesis happens only when K dramas are concerned. I kinda feel guilty about getting her hooked though. She is studying for the mcats and she still needs to take physics and orgo II this year...........a very very bad time to discover K drama. Lucky for me, I discovered Hana Yori Dango during summer...... ah my first drama, so many nostalgic memories! :)

Great song of the day. Their new album is mindbogglingly good, and dare I say it, the best North American record in the last 10 years. I would rabble on about Arcade Fire, but I shall control myself. Looking forward to Playful Kiss, but I have been disenchanted as of late with the K-drama scene. Lately I've revisiting the good days of Coffee Prince and Kim Sam-Soon. The recaps of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho are enticing, but I'm waiting until it ends, so I can have myself sleepless weekend.

I need to have my confession today. Well, I'm a teacher, and 2 days ago, I almost tempted to confess my kdrama addiction in a class full of students. A subject of favourite tv shows came up in the class discussion and a few of the 18-year-old students started to mention kdramas and gave synopsis of few of them..
..and I found myself getting really excited, and started to correct them on the drama plots, the actors name and such. At one time, I was so close to brief them the differences between historical sageuk and fusion sageuk, but stopped myself before things got any weirder. *sigh* I seriously need to practice self-control.

Really, how was it received? Last semester, I had this really cool, tight knit workshop class, so I felt comfortable talking to them about my Kdrama obsession. I wrote an entire short story based on that one scene from Cinderella's sister; when the guy tries to grab Moon, but missed and tookcout her hair pin and all her hair came tumbling down. That was so eerily beautiful.
And whenever I got carried away, I would appeal to the lone Korean girl who was also in the class. She would just look at me in bewilderment, and say "Viola I don't watch dramas!" The teacher referred to me for the rest of the semester as the Kdrama girl. ;) It really is an addiction.

Happy Fridayyyyyyyy!!! It has been a long couple of weeks. I think I missed OT last week too. Just too much work to do. But, omo omo omo, MGiaG has been making the weeks bearable. I'm not even minding the weeklong wait between eppies cuz I just do rewatches of the old ones. SMA is beyond amazing. I can't even describe what a complete joy it is to watch her as MiHo. She has such range of emotion and facial expressions ... it's just fantastic :)
The Hye-In noona on the other hand.... I didn't like her in the bits of BOF i saw her in (where she wasn't an evil villian), and i don't like her now. Something about her just irritates me to no end. Maybe cuz she is just so princessy and entitled. Ugh. can't stand that.
And Gumiho Hunter - umm... anybody else think he is WAY too pretty? I mean, he is kind of otherworldly pretty. Throw a wig on him and he's prettier than most girls I know. Hell, shave his head and he's probably prettier than most girls still! Sigh, I'm just jealous of his utterly flawless skin. What I'd do for poreless skin, you don't even know lols.

Last Friday I went to an interview.

Today I watch recent episodes of Gloria and I am Legend. I like both but the OST of IAL is really impressive and it makes Gloria sounds silly.

This week (actually 4 1/2 days) had been an exhausting one...XP
last Friday:
-didn't get to participate in OT149
-my Nokia 6600 broke down after my 1 yr++ usage (it just went off like that, and when I try opening it, it acts weirdly: on & off & on & off until it offs itself...
-voiced to my mothr that I may need a new cellphone...maybe a Samsung Corby??? (yes, I'm still on YAB HEAVEN!! WAHAHAHA!!!)
Sunday: not-so-good feeling: sore throat which progressed to a progressive body weakness
in-between: fever while on an aircon...I know it's stupid, but some stupid neighbors were up all night on their effing rented videoke machine on the fXXing street!!!
Monday:
-38.3 Celsius FEVER!!! As a result, whole day bed rest in exchange of a one day absent. DX
-(then there's just this one eensy weensy incident involving a bus on a wide grandstand, STUPID POLICEMEN, and widespread panic & pandemonium...nothing too great, really, when you've got a country against you, NO~)
Tuesday: besides stressful activities when I got back from my absence, I made my own sim card rejected!!! GRR!!!
(the prepaid load got wasted!!!)
Still loving:
-YAB - yes, I find it hard to let go of things you really love...
-G(umiho) G(irlfriend) (recaps) - I lurve that UEE (not as a national fairy bitch, but as a scared student freaking out due to her hamburger missing its patty) & Park Shin-hye (strangely as Go Mi-nyeo (or was it Min-yeo????) who looked like she never stepped on a convent, became an A.N.JELL, or ever metHyung-niiiim)
-First Wives' Club - yes, I heart this drama. My fave moment: episode 63, when Han Won-soo was violently knocking on Na Hwa-shin (with the adorably cute Goo Se-joo)'s rooftop flat, due to the lights going out (suspiciously?), and Won-soo's jealousy (if you could call it...meh :P) kicking in, and Se-joo (not Mishil, XD) coming out dressed (or rather, making it look like) in only his untucked & unbuttoned dress shirt for all the world (and the neighbors & fangirls O_O) to see. I laugh like crazy... XD
Anticipating (like I've been mentioning for over nearly 5 OT's already):

-P(layful)K(iss) - yes; 2 of my mates are already hooked in, with one of them acting nealry crazy once hearing of any news...

Happy OT Friday y'all!
Going back to college on Sunday (tears)...I shall mourn the demise of my slothful existence of summer.
So last week I bonded with my little brother over Avatar: The Last Airbender after noticing in past OT's that some of you great people are fans and hearing complaints of the general crappiness of the movie through friends. And I have to say, I LOVED it save for the disjointed feel of s3. And I'm totally disappointed that Zutara didn't end up together. Was I a blind viewer or did I sense some SERIOUS chemistry in practically every scene they were in together?? I feel like I've been watching a kdrama that screwed up the OTP and left a huge, messy goo of WTFery behind...
And now, wonderful OTers and lovers of A:tLA, I ask you to guide me in the only way of healing my defeated expectations: what Zutara fanfics do you recommend? :)

This maybe my last weekend in town, must be going to some remote place that I can not imagine how the place will be like.There's possibility I won't be able to get internet access and up dating kdrama for 1 year. Ahh I will get my kdrama withdrawal syndrome soon. Hiks.

I don't pick what drama to watch base on its rating (whether it comes from JB/GF or other rating source), although it is one of the consideration. I usually choose after I read the recap, if it is good, and suit my personal taste, I really considerate to watch it. So I'm wondering the reason behind you,JB pick one drama to recap among other or invite someone to recap one drama than you do it yourself?
I rely on your recap glossary right now (write them down and go searching for them)

Hi everyone,
I've come to the place where I can't watch without subs... I was watching 'cliff hanger- next episodes' Raw, and then watching with subs when they came out. BUT - what is happening is .... on some level I am understanding more than I thought. When I watch the subs it it feels like I've watched with subs already. Is really really exciting and scary at the same time.
This is truly k-drama addiction :) I can live with it.
