First thing I noticed too was the EunYoung/PSY-inspired hair style. I hope it gets more viewers to watch Coffee House. Loved it!

I had to scroll back up to look for the "Guilty" message. You know, it really could have happened the way you saw it! On his school uniform, no less. I'm thinking of that teen girl K-pop band (T-ara?) selling Tshirts sporting the F word in a phrase that makes no sense to me but (according to the band's reps) it is used commonly in English-speaking countries. Can someone explain that to me?!

Khj's character is supposed to be cold... As opposed to the girl's character which is full of emotion.. So I guess they really did a good job in this picture!!! Read the synopsis of the manga guys so u will have an idea of their characters!!!

Claire!!! I have read the manga synopsis!!! I understand that he's cold!!! It just didn't fit with me that he would keep the coldness all the way until right before their lips met!!! At some point, when kissing someone you care about, you should heat up!!! You should lean toward the person you're about to mack on!!! I expected some emotion!!! But you seem to know more about the manga than I do, so I'll admit that I'm wrong, and that's OK!!! Because he's gorgeous!!! And they're so cute together!!! Yay!!! Woohoo!!!

This pix was taken I guess to show their character..if u based it on the manga...it will be weird to see naoki smiling while kissing..sorry to disappoint u but I think this is the typical naoki style of kissing..!!! Kekekeke

I'm willing to wait for the drama to start before I make judgments on the actual acting, but I'll respond to that whole Naoki-is-cold thing. No matter how "cold" a person is, they aren't dead. In a manga, we have internal dialogue that let's us know what is going on inside someone's head, no matter how no matter how expressionless they appear to be. That won't work on film; allowances need to be made for the medium. There's an underlying complexity in this type of portrayal; a character's emotions may be somewhat hidden from other characters, but they should be, if not transparent, at least apparent to the audience. He will need to convincingly display some sort of internal struggle as this girl begins to get a grip on him.

I'm not saying Kim Hyun-joong should emote up one side of the screen and down the other, but there will need to be flashes -- hints if you will -- of humanity and emotion beneath that "coldness," otherwise the audience will have absolutely no idea of what he's thinking/feeling. Taking "cold" as a license to be a blank slate is poor acting and would result in a failed portrayal. Unless his character is actually a corpse, we'll need to see some sign of life. If Kim Hyun-joong can do that -- and I'm rooting for him to succeed -- I'll be pleased as punch. If he can't ... I'll accept it and enjoy the drama anyway! And anyway, I'll always be grateful to his parents for making such a cutie-patootie! Cute, cute, CUTE.

I agree with you..but in both manga and ISWAK drama actually plus the anime..he started cold and arrogant but it was the girl who awakened all the complex emotions deep within him... So eventually he'll pass the cold state with the help of the girl... That explains the full amount of kissing scenes in ISWAK and TKA... Kekeke.. But I doubt in Korean version if they will have one... They're so conservative when it comes to kissing scenes.... I've read from another blog that the concept for this photo is "To kiss or Not to Kiss" so I guess it not bad for a first photo still.. I checked out the official website of playful kiss from mbc.. They have more photo with ugly uniform on but they're expression is much better...I'm sorry but I'm just one of the believer that khj will deliver this character better.. I just turned into one of his avid fan recently.... Kekeke

Please be a believer in whatever you like -- no need to preface it with an "I'm sorry." I too want to believe that Kim Hyun-joong will deliver this character than he did the last one. I don't know if he will -- I have some misgivings -- but you can be darned sure that I'm hoping for it really hard. And I quite like the kid. Therefore, other than us having different opinions about the way an actor can portray "cold and arrogant" I'm thinking we're of pretty much of the same mind. Here's hoping! :-)
