Won Bin sheds his gentle image for Ajusshi

I just posted about Won Bin‘s new movie Ajusshi, but now the first trailer is out, and it looks pretty damn good. The story is rather straightforward, but Won Bin’s transformation into a hardened badass is pretty cool.
Information on the plot has been pretty scant till now, describing his character simply as a hermit who comes out into the world in order to help rescue a kidnapped girl. Watching the trailer, however, really gets the dark thriller vibe across.
The trailer: The young girl is his neighbor and starts by asking, “Ajusshi, are you really a gangster?” He asks the girl if he looks like a bad person to her, and she answers with a little laugh, “It’s just that it seems like jail would suit you.” The onscreen title reads, “They shouldn’t have messed with him” as he launches into a series of violent fights, and then adds, “His one and only friend… called him ajusshi.” Hence the significance of the title. As the trailer closes, he says, “Even if I find her… you two are dead.”
Ajusshi recently wrapped filming and will open in August.

Now this is a role I wish Hyun Bin had been able to do. It would have really boosted his career.
While I have only watched Won Bin in Mother, this one does look sexy and thrilling.
He's like a younger version of Lee Byung Hun in IRIS and I heard he's been working out a lot for a topless scene. Smexy!!

this...looks... Fuckin AWESOME ^________^ i am so excited. but then i have to wait for eng sub *cries*. I did see him recently in 'Mother' and thought he and the lead actress did an excellent job acting but I was a bit disturbed by it. This movie looks like it will be well-acted and not be disturbing so hurray! looking forward to it

The only one I pinned on second lead was him in Autumn Story. And I never finish that drama. I stopped when Won Bin let SHG go.

I agree with you guys on this one. The synopsis for this movie also reminded me of "Man on Fire". Let's just hope it has a better ending. That aside, I'm also one of the many people who are excited to see more of Won Bin. And boy, is he looking good. :)
