Oh Ji-ho cast as Ha Ji-won’s boyfriend

Chuno‘s Oh Ji-ho has been selected as Ha Ji-won‘s co-star in the upcoming 3D sci-fi action flick Sector 7.
The story takes place out in the open sea on a large oil prospecting ship, where the characters encounter a monster in the sea. When it attacks, a battle for survival ensues, led by Ha Ji-won, who shows off high-energy action skills as she fights it. Oh Ji-ho plays her boyfriend, an engineer on the oil rig who gets caught up in a conspiracy. Also, SPOILER! In fact, such a huge spoiler that I don’t know why they included it in the press release, since it gives away a big part of his casting: His character dies. Maybe it happens early on and isn’t such a big deal? [/END SPOILER]
The large-scale project comes with a 10 billion won production budget and high expectations; it is produced by Haeundae‘s Yoon Je-kyun and directed by Kim Ji-hoon of May 18. Also starring are film veteran Ahn Sung-ki (Fair Love) and comic actor Park Chul-min (Return of Iljimae, Partner), both of whom also worked with director Kim in May 18.
Sector 7 will begin filming in mid-June.

Sounds like "The Host" meets " Haeundae". I didn't like both movies, so I don't have high hopes for this one either.

Look at that smile. He is gorgeous. I liked him a lot in My Wife Is a Gangster 3 but didn't like the few dramas I tried of his. Found him too lightweight. But is seems like he's hitting his stride . I haven't watched Chuno yet but he looked good in it ......not only looks wise but charismatic......he seemed to have developed a presence which he didn't have before. iAnd he seems like a sweet guy. You get that vibe from him. Good luck to him.

He is really gorgeous...and just so bland as an actor. Sometimes I see flashes of something and think "come on, I know you've got it in you!" but it fades away. Maybe it's because he is so great looking that I want him to be better than he is...not that I've ever had a problem watching something just to see attractive people (BOF, anyone?). And there's no doubt that he and Ha Ji-won will make a beautiful couple!
That's a very strange way for the producers to promote Oh Ji-ho's role in this movie, though. =/

ahahahah! the spoiler's hilarious! i don't mean to sound sadistic but it really is ridiculous that they would release that little detail - considering that he's such a big star!!!!!!

IMO, I don't see how this can be compared to Haeundae, unless the monster attacks the rig with a tidal wave :D
To me, it just sounds like '"Alien", but takes place on an oil rig instead of outer space with Ha Ji-Won playing the Ellen Ripley character. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I'm a huge action film junkie so this is right up my alley. Just a shame they released the spoiler about Oh Ji-ho's character, a stupid move on their part for sure.
3D needs to go away already... UGH.

I LOVE Oh Ji-ho. I agree he can be a little bland as an actor, but I think that is kind of indicative of some of the parts he has had. I enjoyed what I've seen in "Chuno" and thought he was all types of adorbz in "Couple or Trouble". Plus, look at him. If this has sci-fi action, I can deal with him being in it.

Boring?, to me any incredible good looking man never seems boring to me, they are HOT, especially this OH JI HO(T) such charismatic and manly actor.
Nice pairing also HJW-OJH, both are in their 30's, hope to see if they really can have eye catching chemistry, just like their eye catching good look.

A pairing I would love to see is HJW with Kang Ji-hwan preferably in a long drama. Sometimes pairings are so baffling to me like lets get the most boring actor so the actress will shine even brighter. Unless they knew they couldn't get a bigger star because he will ___ early on in the movie so its more like a cameo.
