@ celestialorigin,
sister, I take it back... I saw CU5 w/ chin subs and the ANGST FEST... ARGHHH! It's sooo good if we're a masochist, but it's breakjing me. we got all these unexplained stuff w/ our JiHoon (more so w/ subs than w/ going w/ our imagination), and I'd better get some answers CU writers or I'm throwing that cast iron pan of young Taec upside of your head repeatedly come tmr.

Okay....will look for that PP summary!
I got bored because the other dramas have all posted so I went into further episodes of Daring Women.....boy, that one is getting fun! Finally hit it into 32 and I'm laughing at the way most of the dramas show the male leads "unaware" of what is happening to them! You know....slowly falling for the female but not quite getting the message? In DW it's cute because the male lead (he's president of company) has been bachelor for umpteen years and son and daughter grown up and he's not been interested in relationships. So one of the other females (professional designer) who has known him for years keeps hoping he'll notice her as more than a good friend. So president, designer, employee and her male co-worker go out to lunch and they're eating that lunch where you put food into a common cooker and president, without really thinking, picks out meat and veggies with his chopsticks and puts it onto employee plate. The look on the face of the designer and other male co-worker is so funny. I was really laughing at that point because the president is oblivious to what he is doing! Female co-worker gets a call on her cell phone so she excuses herself and goes outside to talk....while she's busy, a drunk comes out of the store next door and rams into her and they both drop their cell phones and the drunk gets upset and starts to yell at her....in the meantime the other 3 come out of the restaurant and at that point the drunk has his hand on female....president sees it and grabs the guy and hits him! and turns to female and asks.....are you all right?
omo....can you just imagine where this is going now? and that was the end of that episode! darn it!!!! I tell you Lee Chang Hoon is one handsome dude!!!
sighhhh....all the eye candies are in dramas and make believe....AND out of reach!

Tamra the Island, it's a magical place because its where Im Joo-hwan went from being a boy and turned into a man.
Oh, I noticed him in Snow Queen (same as I noticed Namgong Min in One Fine Day), both boyish goodlooking kinda bland but harmless second male leads. MGN was actually more compelling, IJH was very much in the background.
The Tamra hit, and I was sold on this actor for life. He was born to play Park Kyu, right age, right physique (lean and tall) and right gravitas (turns on a dime from stern yanban to boyish confidante).
I've been screaming from months now, since they announced the Korean ISWAK remake, that IJH is the perfect choice to play the lead. So for you to say he evokes Joe Cheng, I completely agree, charisma and talent double whammy!
I know you're all still squeeing from more Ki-hoon today, so enjoy the emotional heft of CU and just let magic of Tamra wash over you during some CU downtime.

omg everyone is talking about CU5 and i haven't watched it and i want to watch it and i want to know about it and my twin is refusing to spoil it for me when im ASKING her to spoil it for me!!!!! my computer can't handle viikii cuz it hates me, so no subs until they're available...or recaps. but from the little that i've read here and there, it's a pivotal episode?? i need confirmation that the 8 year time jump is justified and explained.

@lovenyc52, tbh we dun get many answers... and I demand so SOON.
not that I'm minding the angst, I'm bracing for it, but I'm quite lost w/ KH.
@celestialorigin, imo the ending of 5 is a bit much. If they can just stop at just ONE utterance, I think it'll even be more poigant.
@twin
O M G, I thot I'm the only 1... I'm only up to ep2 of Tamra. It's uber cute and I actually think IJW is better in comical scenes than Joe *duck* his PK is even more cohesive and Im is much more committed in the role, making those booboos of PK that much more hilarious and endearing, but of coz Joe is much more flamboyant and showy an actor. I'm all for Park Kyu in ISWAK remake~! I'm loving SW in Tamra as well.

@ mookietwin
Yeah, IJH's brand of comic chops is more restrained than Joe. In fact, I say the entire kdrama brand of acting is in general way more restrained than its TW and C/HK counterparts. And prolly more animated tha jdorama actors.
Park Kyu is the butt of many jokes, and yet he remains ever regal and stalwart. It's like that saying, "you fall into a pile a shit and come out smelling likes roses" - though I'm neither saying the island is a pile of poop nor that PK smells like roses. :-P
SW in Tamra was another pleasant revelation for me. She's simply wonderfully marvelous. Her acting has this purity in it, very childlike and sincere.
And perhaps my fave non PK-BJ character in Tamra is BJ's mom......I love that woman (both the character and the actress). Scenes in Tamra will make you cry, just tear up like you never expected.

i was so trying NOT to ruin your watch of CU5 (is that what the consensus is? CU instead of CS?) cuz you just have to experience it full on.. but alas, i'm WEAK too! lol.
i have not stopped thinking about CU5 all day. i'm still stuck there, my heart pounding outta my chest, tears streaming down my eyes, and just staring at C!J!M!'s beautiful smile and the angst-filled eyes of MGY.
so i'm torn as to what to watch while i'm in angst waiting for CU eps. What's Up Fox for more CJM or Tamra for a glimmer of all this Park Kyu talk. i mean, he has his own TEAM for ICOMYM, for goodness sake!
and i don't remember exactly when i delurked, but it was right around the time i found my twin on OT regarding our mutual 2PM obsession. i finally found someone to share my obsession w/. and we're even able to share all the boys w/ each other. :)

thaaaaaanks for sharing!! it's cuz otherwise i would have NO idea what was going on for unknown # of days because i have no access to subs until with s2 releases them or until jb/girlfriday does recaps and i just can't wait that long. you can't ask me to wait that long for C!J!M! that is just IMPOSSIBLE. duh.
Between What's up Fox and Tamra?? Hrmmm...hard decision. C!J!M! is pretty irresistible but Team Park Kyu, well he does has his own team. How bout you watch BOTH. Plenty of time before next week's of CU after all :)
re: sharing our boys - this works because we're willing to do mini time shares haha. If I went after junK or if you went after Tabi, i think we'd have words....

Taec, I barely can recogn him not following Kpop, but to me, he looks like a very young bro of SSH but maybe a bit better than SSH w/ nuanced.

Prosecutor P - episode 5!
Major, major episode! I cried. Not bawled, but cried.
Can I just say, I (heart) Ma Hye-ri!
She fights back with full force this episode and succeeds, so it was a relatively less grueling episode, but then there was her heartwrenching relationship with the little girl Ji Min, and I was so proud of the way she handled everything and so sensitively -- without anyone else's help. Atta girl!
Never knew this show would have so many layers and some that delve as deep as they do.
After the intensity of the Ji Min scenes, following her victory, she stands outside the gents, waiting for Yoon to step out and then ambushes him when he does - with ''Hah! Showed you! ...In your face, bitch!'' Well, not in exactly those words but that was the spirit. And then quickly darts off. It was a great comeback to all those nasty things he said to and about her in episode 3&4. Not only Yoon but everyone at the company and her scary mother of a dad, too!
My heart thumped like crazy in the scene where she once again somewhat shyly confesses to Yoon (drunkenly this time) that she likes him (she's bloody hopeless this one). As usual, he's blunt, flippant -- and again, she is hurt by his response but quietly accepts it as gracefully as she can and then all misty-eyed she promptly walks away (sob). This time however, looking somewhat remorseful, he starts moving towards her, reaching out as to pull her back (omo! The crackling chemistry!), when In-woo - the creep - who had been lurking nearby in his car - in the dark - blinds Yoon with his full beam headlights, revvs up his engine deafeningly loud and then speeds past him, dangerously close to running him over. Jealous bastard!
Yes, episode 5 was a very revealing episode, we learn of MHR's many hidden strengths, and a little insight into In-woo's true self.
In-woo is bipolar, no, scratch that - he's f__king scary! I think I underestimated Park Shi-hoo's acting ability. In the first few episodes where he was overly smiley and heart on sleeve friendly? All of it - fake!
I could tell there was 'something' amiss in earlier episodes though, he looked uncomfortable with her (apart from those jokey around moments).
He is now angry, dark and brooding. Oh, how to solve this complex riddle that is Seo In-woo. Who is he? *tears hair out*
p. s. In the small moments where he did smile, it was a very genuine
smile where you could see his sincerity.
Yoon's hair has been trimmed short and stylish and he looks so much more boyishly handsome, better, it's not depleted any of that wonderful General Choi aura any - in fact it's enhanced it.
Oh and I love the chief! He's the best!
Onto episode 6 now! This show is so damn unpredictable.

My suggestion is also Tamra. I'm on ep 4 of What's Up Fox? and still have no impetus to keep watching. I thoroughly enjoyed what I've seen, mind you, but in some way its MNIKSS's slightly less engaging cousin.
@ mookie
What chu say? I was busy watching YT videos of our loverboy, been awhile since I gazed adoringly at his visage, and his addictive turn as Yelu Xie.
Yes, Tamra has some poop humor which completely disappears rather quickly in the drama, but it was pretty darn funny. Yeah, somewhat along the lines of Arale playing with round mounds of poop and grossing out the Professor. Dr. Slump, I cackles at how the lowest common denomintor could be so wickedly funny.
As for Taec, been curious what the initial impressions are? You made me LOL w/ the comparison to SSH, yeah, my robot has the same slice cheese cheekbones, but getting outacted by a newb is not a good sign. I'm waiting to see his turn in the ABT remake w/ JJM.

thanks for the opinions, all! i think i'll start Tamra first while i'm impatiently waiting for eps of CU to come out. why i torture myself w/ this watching as it airs drama is beyond me. i can't believe i gave in. well, after seeing C!J!M!'s smile, i can believe it, but i'm still mad at myself for doing so. i'll supplement the smile w/ fanmade MVs.
Taec didn't have too much screen time to really judge. but what i saw, i liked. he shows interested confusion well. i'm not familiar w/ how spot on the accent was, but it sounded like it was pretty good. and his stand off w/ KH and intro w/ the uncle were ridiculously cute. i'm not being biased at all when i saw he'll do well, as far as i can tell. but more screen time would be needed to fully judge.
@ twin
i'm totally ok w/ sharing junK's voice. there's so much power and soul, everyone should be able to enjoy that part of his talents. the rest of the talents are for me alone. HA! and i just want a few growls and stares from YOUR tabi every few weeks. i would NEVER monopolize his growlings. i like living another day for growls.

I agree that What's Up Fox is not as engaging as Tamra, but I think because it felt so... realistic in it's development and it's characters - that's what really grabbed me. and the noona-killer CJM. I'm a sucker for those. My twin knows that lol.

Sunao ni Narenakute was alright. I don't care for Tamayama Tetsujis character. If you don't like the Ting Tings you might not be able to get through the episode, even though their songs are neither billed as the theme song or the insert song (it is, however, playing during the opening title). I'm alright with JaeJoong, he says maybe one or two korean lines but they aren't subtitled, but you can understand the sentiment. (To clarify I wasn't really watching it for him) I wish they had a hairdresser friend in the group, because.. yeah.

Tamra: It may be too early to tell, but I'm loving what I've seen so far and can't find any glaring flaw.
On the whole, Fox is still a very decent romcom, there are parts that moved me greatly, I think I've seen many more romcoms worse than it vs better. My prob is exactly the same w/ ockoala though, it felt very rehashed, a wannabe....but slightly lacking in luster. I'm all for noona killers, but how they came about to make the story plausible....lost me, in a gist IF BH and everyone else were having prob w/ CS being too young... yet he still acted as though he's a teenage boy, I could not suspend my beliefs w/ the jump of sentiments (but of coz if they were melted to puddles like we all r, he can be whatever for all I care, but that's not how the drama's written) Also I have a lot of bewilderment w/ BH's characterization of being a writer of that particular magazine yet so impossibly ignorant as a 33 yo in that dept (I'm not talking about experience, but basic human anatomy)
there were some scenes puzzling to watch if we're looking for realistic (eg writhing in painful distress in a VERY public bkstore and yet, only option is call a friend for help and WAIT; and when fresh off surgery, she can walk blocks, climb stairs to find CS... trite). I liked ChulSoo the character, love C!J!M!, and tolerated SHOW till ep10/11 but it really needed much sharper writing. It broke my heart it was by MNIKSS' writer Kim, I really did have faith in her 'eternal' brilliance.

Hey girlfriend....I love your recap! As great as javabeans! :-) Oh boy...so there IS a dark side to PSH role! So is Ma hye-rie in love with our General Choi?
I signed up to Viikii so I can check certain dramas. The one that is kind of stressful because of the characters is Cinderella Sister. Good acting but i find myself getting all tense because Moon Geun-young never smiles and she is just hurting from not being able to express herself! And Seo Woo sure is doing a good job of being the bitch. Not sure about the male because he's not exactly on top of the whole thing either....stupid enough to trust giving the letter to Seo Woo when he was leaving.
Okay....keep the recap coming on PP. Thank you!

LMAO! Yeah, I know what you mean. Eita sure needs a new hair-do.
I was just discussing about this drama Sunaoni narenakute with my sister since she's on a mission of winning the lotto to be able to buy "Junsu, Jejung and Yuchun's Thanksgiving live in dome concert" tickets right now for me. It seems like it's impossible to access that particular website to start the application process. I was trying all night long with no success. Plus, I don't have Japanese credit card. Over there it's so complicated, you need J-issued cc to shop on-line and so on. Too bad.
Anyway. the drama is OK, Jejung's OK. Not much screen time for him so far. On the other hand, Ueno julie and Eita(except his hair), they were fully present and intriguing in a predictable way. May be it'll improve as the story unfolds.
Meantime, CU Ep6. once again, watched it un-subbed half way through and the site died. I took it as it was meant to be and am patiently waiting till late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Argh, the torture!

Yes, yes, yes! She 'likes' him! She was somehow awed by him even before he rescued her.
She's not flinging herself at him all embarrassingly though, phew! --as she seems to lack confidence in herself where men are concerned, which is explained in episode 6.
Crazily through a flashback in 6, I can't believe I missed the dialogue yesterday where Yoon's second blunt response to her 'liking him' is even worse than the first one (''don't ever come anywhere near my house again''.)
This time he said: ''I know women like you, you'd just like to sleep with me!''
Uh! Come again?? Whatchyu say?
After my initial anger subsided I see some logic in THAT snark of his too. (What is wrong with me?) But I think it's because he is afraid her admiration towards him may develop into something grandeous, which he can't handle. So he attempted to cheapify it/trivialise it before it gets out of control. Am I right? Don't know.
In-woo obviously heard that when he revved up the engine and charged at him. So he wasn't simply jealous. Still who the hell is he to be intruding on their private convo? I thought Hye-ri handled it well enough herself. Her restrained yet heartbreakingly apologetic tone in response effectively made Yoon feel like crap. I would've liked her to have been less apologetic-sounding and more confident/fierrrce - but I suppose that's all part of her growth.
Yoon does more than make up for it in this episode though! All is forgiven!
Yes, yes, Hye-ri don't touch any of the lavish fare that In-woo brought you, the modest little sandwich that Yoon thoughtfully brought for you, and handed over to you as he held your hand under the gazebo. Yes, yes, that's right! Now gaily skip away with the now empty carrier bag that he brought you the sandwich in. I laud you for your taste in men Hye-ri!!
(I would totally do that too! I treasure things of no monetary value but of high sentimental value like that. 'Cos I buy myself the superficialy stuff, but when it comes to guy I fell in love with 6yrs ago, I've saved a blade of grass, a couple of his doodles on a crumpled up scrap piece of paper and a now-dried-up bottle of burn treatment gel, they're invaluable and I would highly likely die without them. Yet I tore up and tossed away his photos. I know, I'm such a creep.)
I loved episode 6. Didn't know how they would handle the flashback parts of an obese Hye-ri (with huuuge styrofoam hands!). I loved the part where she hears some devastating news - you guessed it, related to a guy - and suddenly there's a deafening thunderclap, blinding flash of lightning and torrential downpour. As she runs through the rain she loses a shoe (a recurring theme for her now) and then collapses from exhaustion as she's running up some stairs, so lies on the stairs sobbing. What's worse is a rude passerby who shoves past her shouting out ''hey, you're blocking our path''. Can you just imagine it? Poor girl!
Eeep! I just went off on a rampage there. Need to sleep, happy Friday girlfriend!

Wow...good stuff huh? I like this recap cause I don't have to deal with the actual voices and faces. Of course, I'll also get to follow JB who has posted episode 4 recap.
Hmmm....I'm getting the feeling that Yoon has problems also...but have they ever said what happened to his wife? I know in the beginning he seemed to always look at her photo. I always felt he loved her a lot and just wasn't interested in getting involved with another female. His friendship with the other female prosecutor is a co-worker kind of thing with him....but I know she's in love with him.
I'm laughing here about Yoon's remark...I know women like you just want to sleep with me. Huh? Don'tcha get the feeling Ma Hye-ri might be dealing with 2 left field jerks? It's bad enough she's got psychological problems and much of it from an over bearing sicko type father.
When javabeans posts their episode 5 I'll go over it and let you know what I feel and even 6. That way we can still have a flowing dialogue going.
By the way....I am really enjoying Dong Yi.....great acting by Han Hyo-joo....can't believe that's the same actress in Shining Inheritance. It feels like she really studied for this role and has become DY....and Ji Jin-hee as the King is out of sight! Pretty soon Bae Soo-bin will be entering the story and seeing her as an adult....I can imagine his expression when he sees her. As a child she promised to marry him one day because he was a close friend of her father and brother.
You go off to dreamland girl.....be rested for Aloha Friday!

@celestialorigin: It would be hard to get those tickets without buying them through someone who lives in Japan, and even then....?
I think Jejungs character alright with me because the harassment problem at work is a normal trope in jdramas. Well, the worst case scenario, I have to buy them off from professional scalpers, again... Like I did for BB's concert over there... What can you do, a girl's gotta do what she can... Since going over there is no problem, free flights, a free accommodation(with a big joyful bonus of being able to hang out with my sis, my niece and nephew especially because I didn't get to see them in Feb. and Mar., too busy working there), it's totally (self) justifiable for me. Plus I've been working so hard at home for my upcoming seminar in Japan, I can use a break... Excuses, excuses. I can come up more...
@wabbit
Yes, I have. Last year was the worst year financially for me as I was involved in one of those infamous Ponzi scheme thing and also had o sell an investment house near Lancaster at a huge loss, sigh. It took me a whole year to get myself back up emotionally out of a black hole(Thank you JB and OT, you've been my cheer leaders). And all you can claim is $3000.00/year for next many many years, guess till I die unless something change and I'll get some sort of huge capital gains off something. Anyhow, thanks to my accountant, I've gotten pretty much all the tax I'd paid last year and now my business is taking off. So, I'm all gratitude for all that.

yay, things ar better now and will only get better! Glad your biz is doing great and those free trips to Japan *envy* good luck in getting the tic!!

do u like your new haircut though, unni?!
CU6:
couple plot points r kinda falling into usual Kdrama tropes,,,and there r scenes w/ weird editing/directing/music.. o_0 in general, 5, 6 r less magical than 3, 4 for me (very understandable and I've been expecting so)
but OTP is still doing excellent angsty drama w/ almost no words. y dont either1 or both of them just lose it and tear each other to pieces or makeout... or just talk?!?! haha
Taec doesnt not stand out like a jarring sore thumb in this terrific cast. I was expecting tolerable, but he is doing a truly decent job as a newbie. He had couple scenes where he's quite in character, and I see nuanced, tenderness convincingly. He's in the peripheral still, scenes r few and non-demanding. And for some reason, he really looks like SSH's facetwin to me. SSH with even 'beastier' muscles.
I honestly have no clue what to expect in the next 14 eps, it can go every direction.

What's not to like about the hair cut. (I can't glue it back or cry) Yes, it's a little bit shorter than I wanted, but it will grow out. I'm living on 51/2 hrs of sleep already and constantly on the go. The short hair allows me to literally wash and go. Besides, seriously, ever since I cut it super short (think Bummie's length), I don't have to tie it up at all, thus losing LESS hairs. At my age, I need all that I have *sigh*
I think I will finish SMM and call it a nite...it's past midnite,so ...TGIF

Thank you. Thank you. BTW, what OTP stands for? I'm pretty sure it's about our main couple, right? I first didn't associate Taec with 2PM. Then, yes, it's him. He's adorable. It's just he's not CJM. His smiles are truly like wram glorious sunshines! Whohoo. I'm sure, if he wants to, he can melt the entire North pole regions.
@cingdoc
When did you get a haircut? I must have missed a post?

Oh no, it's not Javabeans, it's two other recappers - and they're awesome.
I think I'll have to be more careful when blabbering away on here after each episode, when there are recaps in progress.
Both Yoon and In-woo have swooped in and helped her many times, where Yoon may say some terrible things he's always remorseful after and makes up for it. In-woo had been a plain sweetheart (to her face) and given us no reason to hate him but he's very shifty and untrustworthy. So I can't hate either of them - it's not black and white. We're also given on/off moments where you both love and hate Hye-ri too, so...
I really like the girl, in fact she's reawakened my love of cherry tomatoes and I've been snacking on them at work for the past coupla days! Haha!
There's a scene where Yoon is assuring Prosecutor Jin (who loves him one-sidedly) that he is not sticking his neck out for Hye-ri because he happens to be attracted to her because she resembles his late wife! Tch! HER? Then he says ''my (insert late wive's name) was smarter, yaddayadda ... and she was beautiful.'' (I agree, Kim So Yeon of Gourmet & IRIS was MUCH prettier than the KSY of PP.) And just to drive that point a bit further, they cut straight to Hye-ri's face, where she's looking very similar to this: http://i630.photobucket.com/albums/uu26/dramabeans/pp2/PP4-00019.png -LOL!

hehehehe....picture worth a thousand words, huh?
And yes, you're right it's not JB...but another recapper on episode 4. There are several others and I know that Samsooki was doing Chuno.
But you're not competing with recappers....just filling me in.
Yeah...those cherry tomatoes look really nice....great snacking food! And my tummy is gurgling...it's a little after 3 a.m. here. :-(
I'm gonna have to go easy on CU cause I get a headache when I'm done...the acting is so intense and stressful! MGY's character must have given her a headache! And CJM...male lead is so wimpy I groan constantly! Totally opposite of the males in PP. I guess all the actors are doing a great job to get me riled up mentally and emotionally, yeah?
Hey....happy Aloha Friday!

@eiko - oh defo NOT in any way competing with any recapper, haha, I wish! I meant more in the sense of letting slip anything spoilery on OT.

okay....i gotcha on that one! you're not handing me any spoilery on my turf so no worries there but your recaps are really good so it could be competing with JB ! guess its' on to #131 OT and there are many, many Cinderella Sister fans there!
