Kim Ji-suk added to Personal Taste

Chuno‘s slave-hunting Kim Ji-suk has just been cast in MBC’s upcoming trendy drama Personal Taste. Both are Wednesday-Thursday dramas, albeit on different stations, so this means he’ll be busy jumping from one project right into the next.

I have mixed feelings about this, because while Kim Ji-suk can be amusing (as in Chuno), I don’t feel the pull for him as a second lead. I’m reading the novel Personal Taste right now and I can see how he was cast as Lee Min-ho’s rival (he’s a “perfect” type of guy with great background, schooling, and brains), although I don’t know if I’d find him all that compelling as a competitor. But I’m hoping that the main pairing is strong enough to sustain the drama regardless.

Sohn Ye-jin and Lee Min-ho take the lead roles, with Jo Eun-ji (Forever the Moment) playing Sohn’s best friend, musical actor Jung Sung-hwa as Lee’s close sunbae, and Ahn Seok-hwan (Chuno) as the father to Sohn’s playboy ex.

Personal Taste will begin filming at the end of February and will replace The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry starting March 31.

You're reading the book? Please share with me when do you find the time to work, run the site, write recaps, answer emails, and read books. I'm dying here and I bet I'm not as busy as you are. lol

Honestly can't say I'm too excited for the second male lead either. I usually get second lead syndrome so maybe it's a good thing if Min-ho comes off a lot more charismatic. That way I won't be too troubled :)

Hmmm, I can't imagine Kim Ji-Suk as the second lead... we'll have to see how that turns out. I haven't seen Sohn Ye-jin's previous dramas so I have no idea how she is an actress, but considering the praises I don't think I have to worry :) It's not like with Ha Ga In...

Oh my God. I think Kim Ji Suk is not that bad you know. His acting in Chuno is pretty acceptable for my taste, well probably just mediocre. But he's quite enjoyable to watch too I think.
And oh em gee! I am so excited and sooo can't wait to see this drama! I love Sohn Ye Jin!
and Min Ho, I'm not a fan but I think he can pull it off really well for his new character. Because he did a great job in BOF. I can't wait. 1 and a half month is too long for me!

I've only seen him in Take Off so far (great movie btw :)).
I admit his acting skill wasn't so impressive at first... but he did a good job in the main scene...
In a little while, i think that he might become a decent actor...

One thing that I learned pretty quickly from watching
Korean TV dramas...............Never underestimate anybody.

Who is that actor / actress?
Where did I see him / her before?

And whenever the lightening bolt finally hits me, I'm amazed
at how costume changes, make-up, and time frames manage
to transform people. The foundation for me was "Dae Jo Young."
Now...whenever I see anybody originally from DJY, my brains fall out.
Is that the evil 7th century villain, Shin Hong, wearing a suit and tie? :)

My point being that the only role I've ever seen Kim Ji-suk play was
that of "Bacon-boy" in "Likable or Not." Somebody at the Korean
Drama Group web site made up that great name, based on Baeku (sp?)
which I guess nobody could remember. "LoN" wasn't exactly monumental,
but Kim Ji-suk did a good job with his role, and I'm sure he'll do well, here.
Good luck to all the cast and crew of "Personal Taste!"

PS...........
I would imagine that some people might be scared, to be working alongside of
~ ~ ~ The Lee Min-ho Fireworks Factory ~ ~ ~
But I wouldn't be surprised if LMH ends up surprising us all, once again,
with this new character he'll be playing. I expect to see the unexpected.

And I hope that the ducks from the swimming pool of "Boy Over Flowers"
will be making a guest appearance in this romantic / comedy / drama,
once again....... :)
