Shin Hyun-joon gets stitched up
by javabeans
Shin Hyun-joon (Cain and Abel) is taking on the part of a police detective for his latest movie, the thriller Family Picture, and has sustained an injury to his finger while shooting an action scene. I know, “finger injury” sounds mild, but the accident must have been fairly significant, because it required fifteen stitches (oww).
The incident took place as Shin’s character and his partner, an officer played by Lee Ki-woo, get caught up in a fight scene with their suspect during a raid of a loan shark’s office. Apparently it wasn’t an elaborately planned scene, but rather a down ‘n dirty fistfight, and the staff had been nervous prior to the shoot. Evidently for good reason. Shin Hyun-joon’s hand injury resulted when he was so absorbed in the scene that he threw punches hard enough to break his own skin. He continued filming the scene through the night and headed to the hospital the next morning, where he received his stitches.
Family Picture is described as a crime investigation thriller of two cops working to find the culprit in the shocking murder of a child, and takes a realistic (read: gritty?) tone. (Generally this type of movie isn’t my bag, but plotwise Familiy Picture sounds a bit like Gone Baby Gone, and if this is anything like that movie, it’ll be a good thing.)

I loved Gone Baby Gone. They actually got the accent right...(I'm from Boston) and Casey Affleck is hotter than his brother; man I should watch that movie again.
Anyway, I think this movie will definitely end up on my to-watch list. I like the crime dramas a lot more than romance/comedy but there aren't enough of them. I'll have to wait for a trailer though to see if it does end up on my watch list.

One of the reasons I checked out Korean, Movies and TV shows was because of Shin Hyun- joon.
I had watched Japanese and Hog Kong movies and when I lived near LA I found the Asian Channels.... and saw "Rondo". I am a fan of Takenouchi Yutaka and from this series found Shin Hyun-joon.( Not a fan of Choi Ji Woo though it seem she only has one expression.) anyways long story ... checked out Korean Movies/TV and I am now a fan. . .
I will be looking forward to this movie.
Also.... loved " Guns and Talks " and laughed at much of this movie. . . am I being too politically- incorrect to like the contract killers ? ? ? ?
cheers. .. parsnip

Is it my computer or what is up with his white eyebrow? Besides, all shiny sweating? Wasn't there someone to give him a hand with a towel?

What was on the receiving end of the punch? Something made of glass? 15 stitches sounds like a world of hurt no matter where it's located.
