What is it with j-drama and the random songs?? They love songs from the 80's.

Just like k-dramas and their random infusion of hip/hop R&B that you always hear in the background while they are at a coffee shop. I've heard Alicia Keys and Black Eyed Peas so many times in a k-drama.

One more thing about k-dramas.

The past. . .say. . .8 Korean dramas I've seen has had a guy offering to buy a girl a cellphone. It's a Korean drama staple.

Is that like a symbol of dating? Do men admit their interest in women by buying them a cell phone?

@mishane - yes! the cell phone thing!! so what if the girl already has a cell phone? does she get 2? does she have to give up the one she has already and take the guy's offered one? if they break up, does she have to revert back to her old phone? i think i maybe overthought this. but really. changing cell phones is difficult. u gotta re-add all ur #s and learn how to use the new phone too! ok. end over-thinking rant. haha.

I'm just wondering where Korea puts all these old cellphones. Do they have a recycling system? Do the cell phone store employees get commission?

What if you're dating more than one guy? Do you have to switch from cell phone to cell phone? Does new guy pay for the cell phone plan?

OMG! that Queen song ( i was born to love you) in Pride always cracked me up.... I was cringing at first but then i got used to it.... it was quite an old, old song for me..and so english...^-^

but love the "we will rock you" in Pride...suits the series...

@ 75 Isabelh : pervasive use of humidifiers in K-hospitals ... yes, I've noticed that too. I thought maybe the air in Korea was unusually dry, but I went to Seoul last month for a conference and it was pretty humid. I also notice that the second anyone looks mildly peaky, a bit off-colour, they get whipped onto an IV drip faster than you can say k-drama. Maybe the humidifier manufacturers and IV tubing manufacturers are k-drama sponsors?

@ all you cellphone thread people : and what about the Couple Phones? Then both of them have to get new phones, both have to input all the numbers, etc etc. And then if they break up...?

I don't know. . .but I've been looking to get the new iPhone so maybe I should date a Korean drama guy next.

That way, I don't have to worry about getting a new phone, I can wear fun matching clothes, he can carry my purse, give me a piggy back when I'm drunk, buy couple rings, buy me pretty pink shoes that are too big for my feet, pick up hot pots from the stove, block my body with his when gangsters try to beat me up, etc etc etc.

Some cell phone plans offer free phones if you add a second line. LOL. How embarrassing would it be if your gf-to-be finds out that the new cell phone you gave her was actually a free phone?

That's pretty traunatic, if you ask me, if the gf-to-be were to catch you giving a free phone as her "gift." I would have to move out of the state... To start over...

@mishane - don't forget he'll grab you by the arm and miraculously not disjoint your shoulder when he doesn't want you to leave and will also chase after you on foot when you're in a moving vehicle...for 8 blocks. then you'll end up in an airport where, instead of looking for the flight number, one of you will run randomly around and JUST miss the other person. in the chance u do find each other, prepare to be dizzy when he hugs you and suddenly you're turning in circles.

ok, it's the tail end of friday for me but:

1. get the iphone- it's legendary (and i only refer to the awesome apps not the reception or battery life as such as those kind of suck)

2. am currently watching B&W alongisde Tamna and My Fair Lady- it's really awesome so far but I really really want mark zhao's character to get with the forensic lady! although haha I agree- vic and mark make a pretty amazing couple as they are :) but yeh....far too many cute asian guys on my computer screen right now. where are they all in real life? must go to asia....

3. slap chop O_O i looked it up on you tube and vince is 100% amazing- i love how he sells the graty! dammit- why isn't this available in a less cheesy *scuse the pun* way in the uk??! I LUB IT! so much fun :)

Gah. I want the iphone, but alas I'm stuck with Verizon. AT&T gets no reception at my house. In it's place I think I'll pick up the new Storm Blackberry next month. I saw a couple of videos on youtube and it looks MILES better than the old version.

JB--are you going to continue with Tamra recaps? If not, I'd love to volunteer to continue them. It's been such a pleasure for me to watch that I want it to be shared with everyone.
