Lee Junki and Han Ji-min together in Hero

Finally, some news on Lee Junki‘s new drama, Hero [히어로], which was announced last year but has remained rather quiet. The drama was first titled “Strange Heroes,” then “Unseen War,” and is now back to “Hero,” although the production indicates it is a working title.

Cast as the female lead is Cain and Abel‘s spunky Han Ji-min, who plays a passionate reporter with a strong sense of responsibility who often grows furious at social irregularities. Lee Junki’s a reporter who rushes recklessly into accidents and incidents without fear; he’s also a guy “who doesn’t have much, nor does he want much.” As ordinary citizens, the reporters stand up against the inequalities between society’s masses and its very elite.

Lee Junki and Han Ji-min have both had very good luck with their last few projects; his Time of Dog and Wolf and Iljimae were both action hits, while her Cain & Abel and Yi San both enjoyed good ratings. We’ll see if that luck continues when they combine forces in this latest project.

Hero will begin filming in September when it finishes casting. The series will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC this fall.

The pairing is fine considering Lee Junki's height.

She's one lucky girl having been paired to two of the hottest KActors Kang Ji Hwan (Capital Scandal) and Eric in Korea’s Secret Agency among others. I like her chemistry with KJH though their heights isn’t pleasant to the eye especially in romantic scene but its tolerable coz their chemistry is oozing with cuteness in the screen. Unlike others who have not been impressed with her, not with me I think she did well being timid, meek (but not totally) in CS and taught agent woman in KSA.

As a fun I fine it enjoyable to see my favorite actress in different role and she did not, unlike others who continue to have the same character especially in drama afraid to experiment the vast role in the industry of movie she managed to explore roles and I say she’s capable of.

I think her strength is she is does not outshine her usually more talented male counterpart. Kinda of like white rice. Her blandness works in the roles she has done since it is essential to counteract the hotter, spicier main course.

Though I don't find her to be super talented she does have a quiet confident mannerism that works well in "all in" and "resurrection". I think when she plays a spunky character she has more mixed results.

HJM for me is your "average korean actress". Nothing new. She is "common", flat. She has not that thing which make what actresses like Ha Ji Won, Moon Geun Young, Nam Sang Mi or even Yoon Eun Hye are. In capital scandal she was cute but I liked Han Go Eun (underrated) better than her.
But I am looking forward to Lee Jun Ki.

im looking forward to this series. like someone said earlier, neither hjm nor ljk are phenomenal actors, but theyre both good. and i really think they have good eyes for choosing entertaining projects

Han Ji Min an "unimpressive", "average', or "common" actress...... you've got to be kidding!!! I think she's phenomenal! Her performance as Song Yeon in YI SAN made that series, and the chemistry between her and SJS in CAIN & ABEL was simply fabulous. Can't wait to start watching HERO later this year.

hope he is always happy and smiling. so charming. I wish to see more fun and charming image in his movie like "My Girl". Not always crying so hard it really heartbreaking. (" ,)
