Moon Chae-won added to My Fair Lady
by javabeans
Moon Chae-won has just been added to Yoon Eun-hye‘s comeback drama, which recently changed its title from “Lady Castle” to “Please Take Care of the Young Lady.” The series still retains that latter name as its Korean title [아가씨를 부탁해], but has been listed on KBS World for its global broadcast as “My Fair Lady.” (Bleh, now we’ve got a surplus of titles, like we did that other recent KBS show, Six Months –> That Fool –> Accidental Couple.)
Moon Chae-won burst on the scene in the period drama Painter of the Wind with Moon Geun-young, and is currently featured in the smash hit weekend series Brilliant Legacy. In My Fair Lady, she’ll portray a lively young woman who dreams of being a shoe designer. She had grown up with Yoon Sang-hyun‘s character since childhood and been like a blood sibling to him; as an adult, she worries over him and hopes that he’ll straighten out his life.
My Fair Lady premieres August 19.

That's a gorgeous picture of Moon Chae Won.
Ahh, her character sounds just like a tamer version of Yoo Seung Mi in Brilliant Legacy. The girl who has always been by the guy's side, the girl who will never get the guy despite knowing him for so many years...
Good that's she's playing bright and cheerful here...cos she's always so angsty and sad in BL..

^So happy that she's added to the cast and that what she'll be playing is a cheerful role this time.
I am deffinitely going to watch this series after reading the plot in soompi
Of the high-rolling top 'hot celebrities' of the wealthy upper class in Korea's high society, Kang Hye-Na (Hena) is the one desired by the men, feared and hated by the women.
Being the only successor to the largest conglomerate company, Kang-san Group, Kang Hena has both the looks and the background. She is the owner of the ‘Lady Castle’ and lives a ‘princess-like’ life with her servants.
Losing both her mother and father in a plane crash at a young age, Hena had a lonely upbringing living under the care of her stringent grandfather.
Despite being brought up receiving princess treatment with everything she wanted, throughout her upbringing, Hena neither knew nor felt the emotional warmth from family and friends. For this reason, Hena is overtly indifferent and oblivious to others' feelings and situations and sees that the world only revolves around her.
Whenever she opens her mouth, the words "Shutup! Get lost!! Get over it!!!" spill out, no matter who the person is. Hena possesses skills leveling any national representative when it comes to horse riding, fencing and clay shooting. However the only reason why she holds these skills is to either humiliate men unworthy of her, or to add awkwardness to conversations.
[Hye-na's commentary] Until one day, out of pure coincidence, I come across Suh Dong-chan who turns my life upside down. Not only does he make me do community service, he even kidnaps me.. and now he's the new household manager!!!
This man surely was a problem. He was a persistent weed, that had so much perseverance that even a herbicide couldn't make this weed budge. Even after stepping on him, crushing him and biting him, he still doesn't run away.
Suh Dong-Chan, I knew I didn't have a good feeling about this man. Although I feel uneasy over the fact that I may have finally met my match...
I have no other choice. If you can't leave, then i'll get out of my way to make you leave.

@1 ripgal: Hahaha! I was just about to say the same thing! Her character definitely sounds like a tamer version of Brilliant Legacy's Yoo Seung Mi ^^ Good thing it's a brighter one though!

Definitely looking forward to a more bubbly and happy character. Still, I hope she doesn't get stuck in that stereotype.

does no one think that picture makes her look a LOT like Song Hye Kyo? Gorgeous.
Hopefully her character doesnt turn out to harbour some insane love. I think it's more refreshing if it remains to be just sibling care.

So, is My Fair Lady = Please take Care of Agassi = Lady Castle?
Moon Chae Won playing a lively young woman who dreams of being a shoe designer (sympathetic character) and YEH playing a "gong-joo byung" rich girl (not sympathetic character)... but they aren't after the same guy.. Then YEH learns about life and love and turns into a sympathetic character, while MCW's reward by the end of the drama is that she actually becomes a successful shoe designer?
Well, that's fine I guess. It isn't the story so much as it is how it is done. Give a good acting performance, a good script and a kick-butt OST, and you pretty much got me.
I'll have to watch this, at least give it maybe 4-5 episodes minimum, giving considerable deference to Yoon Sang Hyun and YEH.

Samsooki do you happen to be part of the script wrtiers for this show because the plot sounds great:D
I love YEH so will be watching, Moon Chae Won is a decent enough actress, I just hope I don't want to throttle her in this drama.

Ooo..this just made me want to watch LadyCastlePleaseTakeCareofTheYoungLadyMy Fair LadyFinallyYEHIsInANewDrama even more!! Yes Moon Chae-won plays the 'evil girl' in Shining Inheritance, but I feel she's pretty convincing as a conflicting character who I can't completely hate. Her character in this definately sounds like a tamer version of her Seung Mi character, but I hope it's not too bland of a role. She does look absolutely gorgeous in this picture though! I agree with #6 jenn - a lot like Song Hye Kyo! :)

I hope they will drop “Please Take Care of the Young Lady". This sounds so lame for a drama/move title. "My Fair Lady" sounds the best.

I'm on episode 6 of "ShiningInheritanceBrilliantLegcy". So far, I'm only impressed with Han Hyo Joo (beautiful and great acting) and Bae Soo Bin (cute and mysterious, he reminds me of Sayong in Jumong). Moon Chae Won is just "OK", maybe she'll get better on the later episodes? As for Lee Seung Ki? I have no idea or guess why he was casted for this lead role. It's a good thing for Bae Soo Bin though, who's a second lead, to have a chance to shine.

16--there is a drama called My Fair Lady^^
I like MCW decently enough, but I hope she'll get a different role sometime. This sounds like SeungMi, without as many life problems.

alternate names? common way to hide bad things. used often by con men, and bad american movies when released on dvd or late night TV. caught "accidental couple"'s last episode on broadcast TV last night and can't imagine how they stretched it for more than one episode. leads are cute, some other characters interesting, but overall, too boring and the direction was too formulaic to care much. Maybe it will have clips recycled as a language lesson next under another title. Let's Learn Korean with That Fool. or hopefully something better.

SBS already has a series named "My Fair Lady" back in 2002 starring Kim Sun Hee. Instead of all these stupid name changes, KBS should have named this series "Gilmore Girls Ripoff - Korean Style". With this title, we will not be confused.

Just to clarify, the Korean public will not know this series as "My Fair Lady." That's the English title for its KBS World airings (like The Slingshot is to Story of a Man).
The Korean broadcast is running under its Korean name, 아가씨를 부탁해, Please Take Care of the Young Lady, which I again have to assure sounds prettier in Korean than it does in English.

Just wanted to add to the mix, how about "My Agashi"?
I actually like KBS World titles a lot, such as "He Who Can't Marry" instead of "The Man Who Can't Get Married", "The SLingshot" instead of "Story of a Man", "Again, My Love" instead of "Hateful But Once Again", "The Iron Empress" instead of "Empress Cheon Chun" (for foreigners they don't know who Cheon Chun is). Their titles are short but make a strong impression.

@ripgal, that's what i thought too! MCW looks gorgeous in that picture...she's really pretty, and she does have some acting skills! i hope her character's more lively than her character in shining inheritance... it's time for a change of character from the depressing Seung Mi character, no?

i totally agree with ripgal's comment. (all of it actually :p)
i was captured by MCW's beauty in POTW although i kept i also complained about her acting there then saw her improve (a bit) throughout the drama. while in BL, her character started out being pitiful then very annoying towards the end (& no i haven't finished the whole drama so i don't know how her character will end), although i understand why her character acted that way.
but MCW being added here in my fair lady is another reason for my looking forward to watching this drama :D
