I have to agree with JB's initial statement.

My first reaction is: if that bear attacks SHG, then the headlines might read, "Panda bear goes crazy and attacks Song Hye Gyo," but the responsibility rests with the people that put SHG in that situation. That 9 month old baby panda probably weighs 50 lbs.... not a small animal at all.

I will loosely quote Chris Rock discussing when a tiger attacked Roy of Siegfried and Roy - "that tiger aint go crazy, that tiger went tiger! You know when the tiger went crazy? When the tiger was riding around on a little bike with a Hitler helmet on..."

Awwww...I wanna cuddle a panda too! Anyways, Hye Gyo looks extra chic with her t-shirt & short ^_^

I've heard about pandas actually being violently mean at times, but this picture makes me want to go awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww with the urge to cuddle one.

Have to go with JB, not for the hugging of.....Panda Bears or Koalas. If you must get huggy, get a life size toy one. Best leave the real ones in their habitat protected.

It's nice to see celebs taking an interest in wildlife preservation, and I hope to see more of them doing the same. If their fame can raise more awareness for the plight of these animals - some of which are facing extinction - and prompt the public and organisations to do something to arrest the problem, then that's for the greater good.

At that conservation, it's actually a very normal practice/main attraction to let tourists cuddle and hug the baby pandas for a fee. (I have done it...even if u r against everything about it, they r just impossibly cute to pass :) )

As close to extinction as they r, babies r mostly raised by caretakers even if they r born by natural birth and their panda mamas are healthy and well (since the moms will have to go thro 'matchmaking' every yr and hopefully more babies, yet they need to be raised by moms much longer), so they are very accustomed to and even welcome all the loving(at least fr their actions). It is a case where human intervention is crucial, if they r left to be, there won't be any pandas around long time ago. and when a panda is being a panda, all they wanna do is eat bamboo.

You can not hold them all the time. There are many days when you can't. It all depends on the panda's conditions.

I remember a little boy who yelled out "Mommy, Panda!" at the Costco check-out counter when he saw a pudgy lady in black and white outfit.

I am so incredibly jealous right now! She is not just petting a panda -- she is holding one in her lap!!!! Gimme! ME WANT! It looks soooooo soft. Seriously, life is so unfair -- SHG gets to not only be one of the world's most beautiful women (I can deal with that), but she gets to cuddle with a PANDA as well (less able to deal).

well, pandas are more closely related to raccoons than bears...
and though i would still be more cautious in approaching a panda, given the chance...they're still so cuuuute!

i think SHG's a sweetheart to take action upon such an issue.

In China you can hold and hug a baby panda bear for an extra fee...it is worth it since it is a once in a lifetime kind of event....just like whale watching or dolphin swimming. It was very memorable when I did it. They take you around their sanctuary too.

way to go for hye kyo! im proud of her. this just shows that she's not just your typical beauiful actress. she makes use of her fame to spread awareness about taking care of animals as well as the environment to the public.
