Friday again. Thank goodness for that, right?
SONG OF THE DAY
Ryuichi Sakamoto – “The Lang Song – Music for Artelligent City (One Winter Day remix).” I was making new ringtones for my cell this week, and remembered how awesome this song is, and now I have the most awesome ringtone(s). [ Download ]

JB,
Do you have to pay money to make ringtones for your cell, do you need to go to a special website or something? I remember my friend sending me mp3 of the Final Fantasy 7 victory song (the song is called Fanfare), but he said that if I wanted to make it into a ringtone, I would have to pay some fee...

@ 1
It depends on your phone. Some phones can make a ringtone odd of an mp3 for you.

@ samsooki
Really depends on what phone you have. Some phones have proprietary software, others are more open.
@ JB
So give me a quick update. What are you watching, what are you skimming, what are you dropping/dropped. For some reason my head's been spinning too much to keep up

I am slowly watching city hall and story of a man, but I am suckered into dang gae geum. I heard many great things about it but since it was an old k drama I wasn't too excited; plus it had like 54 episodes. Good thing I did though. Dang gae geum is killer. The story, the characters, the plot, the scenery, etc are freaken fantastic! I am only on episode 8 but I am loving it!

My computer was out of commission for a couple of days this week. I was searching for Allegro Cantabile by Suemitsu & The Suemith, when I got to a bogus site. My machine got infected! #$^%&!!! Norton was able to fix it, but for a hundred a pop! Owel, I'm just glad it's up and running now, and that I get to read Dramabeans on a bigger screen as opposed to my cellphone's.

I just edited an mp3 and uploaded it to my phone.
@cosmopolite, I'm watching:
Story of a Man - yay!
Return of Iljimae - it's already ended, but I'm catching up
Strike Love - hoping to catch up before new eps air this weekend
That Fool - not that motivated to continue but may stick around for another week
Queen of Housewives - made it to 8 episodes, put the series on hold till i have more time
City Hall - dropped. People keep saying it's getting better, and it makes me want to try, but I remember how much I hated Lovers, On Air, and this writer.
Cinderella Man - I actually read about the latest development and wondered if I should peek in again. But I probably won't.
Brilliant Legacy - caught the first episode, thought it was kinda cute but not that interesting. Felt like a daily drama with a good budget and pretty but average actors (although Bae Soo-bin is yum)

@Shin7,
Daniel Henney was ok...mostly because he didn't have that many lines. But the one scene where he did speak a fair amount was um...interesting.

javabeans, just wondering... I know you enjoy blogging about kdramas and all that (and I do appreciate your work!), but do you ever get tired of it and feel like taking a long break from it? Especially the drama recaps, which must be tiring to do. What keeps you going all this while? Hope you're having a great Friday!

javabeans, thank you for introducing me to my first ryuichi sakamoto song. of course i've always heard about him and probably watched a movie with his score (though I didn't consciously know it was his score) and i did dl like 3 of his albums last month but didn't get around to unzipping and listening to them. love the song you posted, it's beautiful.
@Samsooki
you can create your own ringtones from mp3s at phonezoo.com. it's free, you get to choose about 30 secs of your mp3 and then text it to yourself.

kitty, i told myself when i started blogging more seriously that i would quit the day it felt more burden than enjoyment. i love blogging here but it's not my whole life and i need to know i can let it go, theoretically at least. that said, i do get tired and sometimes feel chained to the keyboard. stupid comments sometimes make me want to walk away (no, i'm not going to be PC and say all comments are wonderful), but that's not too common -- usually that's fixed by physically walking away and getting outside for a while.

Sarah, what are the good bookstores in K-town?
I know of Dong-A Book Plaza on 8th. Any recommended reads (for a slow reader)?

City Hall is good. very different from the show Lovers at least at this point of time. I found the first few episodes rather slow but funny. Looking forward for Episode 7, i think things will pick up a little more interesting relationship wise but duller politics-wise. overall i think its a light heart drama. javabean should take time off from serious drama and relax a little w city hall just for brainless laughters. why not? =)

i was waiting for your comment about City Hall..Yeah, don't force yourself to watch it if you don't like the writer. From watching too many kdramas and movies before, I have my share of K-actresses and K-actors that I hate to watch again, no matter how good the drama or movie is....I watched Lovers in Paris last week, I thought it was a cute romantic drama, but to compare the writing, City Hall has a better script so far..and Cha Seung-won and Kim Sun-ah have an amazing chemistry!

btw, I don't know if the rumor is true or not, they will mention Sam Shik in the upcoming episodes, but i do wish Hyun Bin will make a cameo as Mi-rae's ex-BF..

I actually like On Air, Lovers writer. I like her woman characters. Her weakness is she doesn't know how to sew up her dramas. They always fall apart in the end. I Ioved the first half of Lovers and hated the rest. On Air was better. Didn't watch Lovers in Paris....I don't find the leading man attractive. Also it's too old. I don't care for old dramas.....they dress so funny.
I might give City Hall a try out of respect for the leading lady.....MNKSS still remains a sentimental fav......the first 5 episodes were brilliant and that Hyun Bin was easy on the eye.

This is the kind of movie that ... kills me.
I know that I go all nuts for the daily drama Temptation of Wife (I don't even know how to begin to rate this drama, it is a species all its own, and it doesn't get compared to anything else because I've never seen anything like it ever, but it is like a drug, and if you get into it, there is no getting out - I am rather surprised that so few of you are into this drama, maybe you all "just say no to drugs" or something like that), but really, I like good movies and I think this movie will be a great one, if you haven't seen it yet, maybe go and search for it.
Yes to sassy vampires and to masked ninjas and to world's greatest swordsman and/or pop star assassins, but a HUGE YES, for films like this.
Winner of Berlin International Film Festival prize, Dubai International Film Festival prize, Pusan International Film Festival prize...
Treeless Mountain FTW!
