Open Thread #77

Hmm, I’ve been noticing a sharp upswing in the number of “First!” and other numerically declarative posts. They don’t bother me a whole lot, and actually make me laugh when, say, someone will announce “First?” and end up being twentieth (but that only ever happened in the BBF posts). But on the other hand, they’re kinda pointless, so how about we try not doing that here? Thanks!

And now, let the Friday Open Thread begin!

SONG OF THE DAY

haha i have to say i was guilty of that for the BBF posts... just because i would keep refreshing the page to see if the post had gone up yet and the second it went up i would already see 10 comments... so then it became a game to see if i could make it into the top 5 haha... but now that the BBF craziness is all over with (...kinda)... we can return to our normal lives. :)

it has been a long long long week at work and i am very happy it's the weekend... time for some shik do rak (korean bbq!!! yum!!) and fast and furious action... i love me some sung kang and hot cars...

The sun is shining here in London and dare I say it .... it is ... wait for it ... warm! New beginnings I feel are around the corner and although I am feeling a bit lost without my BBF to comfort me, I do believe that there will be light at the end.

The working day is about to end and we're all headed off to the pub (aka a bar for those of you not living on this side of the Atlantic).

I watched Antique last night and dear lordy ... whacko! I guess that's what happens when you base it on a Japanese manga (hmmm ... probably explains BBF!) Although I must admit that it was because of the hilarity of it all that I watched it until the end. Joo Ji-hoon surprised me a little ... he appears to have moved on from his Goong days, but I still don't get what the attraction is? And what's the other guy's name ... waffle guy from Coffee Prince .. oh yeah, Kim Jae-wook ... gay! Hell yeah! He was almost convincing! Lots of kissy kissy with Frenchy ... much better than the pathetic lip-pressing we got on BBF.

As for BBF, I was content with the ending. Love the fanservice they did ... bringing back all things good about the show that I liked. I'm going to miss Gu Jun-pyo the most, the character, not the actor ... although without Lee Min-ho, I'm not sure we would have gotten such a brilliant character.

OK, enough of my rant cos it's time for a drink!

^ lol lovenyc52, I would hit "publish" on a BBF recap, then immediately click to see if it posted correctly, and there would already be comments attached to the post. I was like, "HOW?? How is that even possible?"

Ah, BBF madness. I'll miss it, although I'll enjoy having Mondays and Tuesdays back. I mean, i thought Coffee Prince was crazy, but that doesn't come close to the insanity this round.

You know, I love this site so much! It's one of the few I check every day. And in some ways your recaps remind me of the ones on http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com, because they manage to be both informative and entertaining at the same time. (And just so you know, the phrase "tiny pancakes of sadness" has started being used in normal conversations in my house, thanks to your BBF recaps!!!)

I was just wondering - does anyone happen to know how quickly Korean dramas are usually released on DVD after they air?

Looking forward to the Hollywood Bowl concert on May 9th - it should be fun to see all the K-music celebs in one place at one time!

Spring is here!! The temp has hit +10C, and people are walking around without fear for their lives because the ice is gone... Everyone's still super addicted to their coffees.

Currently going through renal physiology in class, which is (IMHO) much better than endocrinology, but that could have been the lecturer. :P

Have a good April, guys!!

Friday!

Okay, so last night, we almost stopped watching Sweet Spy because my wife would rather just watch the Weather Channel and I am running out of patience.

I will try to finish Sweet Spy anwyay (because I bought it and I hate wasting money) but if it continues to suck, I am going to go back through the posts and find out who recommended Sweet Spy to me.

1. Dennis Oh (O'Neil) is quite possibly the worst actor I've ever seen, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, whatever. He is, in a word, terrible. He reminds me of Keanu Reeves but with half the stage presence. Dennis Oh is killing this show. His English sounds so weird and fake and bad. His Korean is non-existent. His Japanese actually is pretty good, but he says all of like 10 words in Japanese. He cannot control his face so he either looks angry or lusty. This is what happens when you get models to become actors, without first wondering whether they can act.

2. The lack of productive values is..... generally not a problem for me. Normally, I don't care if the sets are shoddy, or if the locations are minimal or repetitive because the production budget is severely limited. Okay? It's not a big deal to me. What matters more to me is the acting and the writing, the direction and how the scenes are put together.

But omg. Could the props be any more fake? There was a scene where some tech dudes were 'sweeping' a room for listening devices, and the scanners they were holding looked like weird kitchen utensils duct-taped together with wires sticking out. I swear I saw an egg beater turned upside down. One guy who was part of the 'sweeper team' merely walked over to a desk, opened ONE drawer half-way, and then gave a thumbs-up "no bugs." Are you kidding me? Hey! You were holding a magnifying glass! Really? A magnifying glass? Do you think you can find a "bug" with that? You realize we're not talking about real bugs, but electronic listening devices, right?

3. Nam Sang Mi..... oh my. First saw you in that Lee Seung Gi MV (Words That Are Hard To Say), and you were just brilliant. Saw you again in Gourmet, and it was uneven but it wasn't your fault and I again thought you did a great job when it was your turn to shine. But this? Why did you do this? Actually, let me be fair. Your scenes when Dennis is NOT in the scene are pretty good. In fact, I was actually moved a few times. But I don't know... almost every episode I feel bored and frustrated and you aren't doing enough to make me not bored or frustrated.

4. The plot points are weak. The plot points don't make sense. The plot points are random and nobody, not even the main characters or the director, knows what is going on. That's a problem.

My wife falls asleep EVERY episode, and when she wakes up and asks me what happened, I cannot explain it, because I have no idea what is going on.

****

I am not happy right now. This week of k-drama watching was the worst week of watching ever for me - even Bimil was better, and I didn't like Bimil much at all. If it wasn't for the awesome movies, 200 lb Beauty and My Sassy Girl, I might have thought about taking a break from things Korean.

Yay! Open Thread day. I've just been reading other people's comments on OT day until today that is...

Javabeans, i really enjoy reading your insightful drama reviews -- especially your recent Boys Before Flowers recaps. I will watch the drama first, then read your recaps to learn more and am amazed at how observant you are. I especially like your comments at the end. And in episode 13 where you had the drinking game...that was really ingenious & funny! :-)

I think Lee Hye Young -- the actress who played Gu Jun-pyo's mother was very well cast. She portrays the upper-class business woman / tycoon so well and yeah...there's that killer stare she has. For me, it was especially the way she speaks. I noticed that she speaks Korean with an accent. It's like a European speaking Korean! It's like her first language is English or French. Anyone else noticed this? I watched Lee Hye Young in Fashion 70's too. She was a famous fashion designer in that drama and she spoke the same way...with the same accent. Does anyone know if this is how she really speaks or if she puts on the accent for her drama characters.

Javabeans, in one of the earlier BBF recaps -- when Gu Jun-pyo had that shower scene, you mentioned something along the lines of "compulsory shower scene". Is it a fact that all or most male leads in a Korean drama absolutely has to have a shower scene? I remember Gong Yoo had a shower scene in Coffee Prince & Rain in Full House...

Yup, the mind IS the first to go. I spent the entire day, yesterday, knowing that it was Thursday, then suddenly...from around 7-10pm, I thought it was Wednesday, and I only realized my mistake because my husband said, "What do you mean? It's Thursday. LOL. :P

Plus, this week, I've been having THE WORST allergy attack I've had in years. Yuck!

Now, that the INSANITY is over....back to Return of Iljimae, right? *wink* ;)
Yesterday's episode was so sad. :( Only 2 more eps to go... Sarah, Fighting!! :D

On the other hand, 200 lb Beauty and My Sassy Girl were pretty darn good.

My Sassy Girl.... the part when the girl asks the guy to go to the other mountain top to see if they can hear each other from one mountain top to the other? Wow... that was awesome.

200 lb Beauty... Kim Ah Joong... I didn't really think the fat suit worked (didn't look real at all), but who cares. Kim Ah Joong just blisters the screen. Just.... awesome. The songs, the movie, the scenes, the characters... really good.

If you haven't seen these two movies, your life is less than it otherwise could be, in my opinion.

We have Dong Gam ("Ditto") next up in the movie watching, the Dong Gam DVD is sitting next to "Shiri," which we will not watch (I don't think we will like it even though I do like action movies).

Kdramas always have the same drama cliches! So you just have to look beyond that and enjoy it for what it is.

I loved Fasion 70s. I remembered Madame Kang from there! She was pretty much cold and distant there too but she had some warmth! lols. The whole cast was great!

Java, looking forward to another drama recaps. Just enjoying the great weather here in Dallas!

Any Tokyo fans here? Wondering since I will be there next month! lols.

Is it seriously Friday? O.O I haven't done ANYTHING all week. Seriously, productivity has been zero.

I just found out that my Chinese 201 class next year is going to have a grand total of..wait for it..2 students. Yes, TWO. This is going to be awesome, because my Chinese professor is the cutest person ever (she's only, like, 25) and speaks four languages fluently (Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and English). I've also just discovered that she apparently tried to teach herself Korean at one point (I think she watches Korean dramas, but I didn't ask), so we got into an epic discussion about it after class the other day when she saw my Korean notebook. I love that lady so much.. I'm going to miss her terribly when I graduate. ㅠ_ㅠ

I've also decided that I'm a terrible student.. I seriously lack discipline. I haven't been to one of my classes all week, and I keep ducking around corners to avoid that professor. I told him I was sick, but I don't know if he believes me.. Luckily I have a cold right now, so I can just pretend I'm recovering. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I also have to submit a thesis to him today for our research paper due in 3 weeks, which I haven't even thought about. THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR SLACKING.

In random drama news, I'm totally watching Que Sera Sera and Soulmate right now, and I blame your little page of drama ratings. I stayed up until 3am watching Soulmate, and only fear of not being able to wake up for class this morning made me stop. FHDJKFHSDKJFHDSKJHFDSKJ SO GOOD. But on the subject of QSS, does Kang Tae Joo ever stop being a jerk? Because I heart him in the way that only Kdramas can make me hate jerks, but he's an asshole and I want to punch him in the face at least twice per episode. (Also, I was totally confused about the relationship between Joon Hyuk and Hye Rin for the first few episodes, and was wondering if there was an incest plot I wasn't aware of. My relief was pretty audible when I finally found out the truth. XD)

On a related topic, my roommate officially thinks I'm crazy. But I've managed to get her hooked on five K-dramas (QSS, Soulmate, My Girl, BBF, and Terroir), so she's demanded that I let her watch the rest of them once she's done being busy. I sent her an invite to Drama Fever, so she can satisfy her drama addiction after she's graduated and gone to New York.. I don't think she realizes yet how much of her life is going to be sucked up by this addiction. :3 (I find this amusing, since she previously avoided or had no opinion on anything about Asia. Now she's all proud of herself for being able to tell Asians she doesn't know personally apart. XD)

Out of curiosity, how's the 500 lb. gorilla next door? :P Still jumping on the bed? /creepy twitter reference

AND NOW BACK TO MY WORK. FHJDKHFJSDHFKDSJFHDKSJFHDSKFS I'M A SLACKER.

@ Orchid

LOL!! What you said about the "compulsory shower scene" reminded me that my friends used to say that the first rule of all dramas is that at some point the main guys MUST be "wet and glowing"!! In most K-dramas it really does seem to be the shower - but then in Sam Soon and in BBF they used swimming in pretty much the same way! They do know how to get to a girl, don't they? :-D

@Samsooki, yeah i heard many people thought of that drama as BAD, probably one of the worst drama of all time. So luckily, I didn't waste any of my time with it. Anyway, As I was reading some of the years best drama from some of the guest blogger in this site, I decided to watch Thank You and I thought it was brilliant and well executed! So maybe you and your wife should watch it together. The child star is super cute! Thanks to everyone for recommending such a great drama for me! TGIF!!!!

Ps: Samsooki, you should really considering creating your own blog. :)

@samsooki

For you to enjoy Sweet Spy you kinda need to accept the fact that Dennis O'Neil is a horrible actor and you're watching it just for Nam Sang Mi. I mean, if you can tolerate Daniel Henney in KSS then surely you can give Dennis Oh a go :)

As for the lack of production values....a lot of the older k-dramas are like that (esp. action ones), kinda like the Nine Tailed Fox with Kim Tae Hee, which had a very low budget feel like Sweet Spy, but was also very entertaining.

If you're after a good action k-drama with high production values, forget the backlogging of pre-2006 dramas and look no further than Time of Dog and Wolf with Lee Jun Ki and also Nam Sang Mi. Very beautifully shot with exotic locations and no Dennis O'Neil :D

Anyway, how about we all talk about something a bit more interesting?

Who wants a Kobe vs LeBron final in the NBA?

*crickets*

Yeah I know that "crickets" thing has been done a lot lately but all the cool kids are doing it so I want to do it too :P

I will find that person or persons who recommended Sweet Spy! I will find you! LOL! I'm just kidding. No hard feelings. Even if Sweet Spy is not great, it is still better than whatever is on American television.

As for my own blog, I DO have my own blog, but I don't write about this kind of stuff. JB's site is too good, anyway. And I would rather just cheer on JB and support this website than make one about k-dramas myself.

I have a stack of k-drama dvds and not enough hours to watch them all since most of the time i was watching current series on-line. When my husband and I travel, the portable dvd player is a must-bring. Both of us enjoy k-dramas - we just finished Time Between Dog & Wolf (the ending could have been better) and next will be Capital Scandal. We both love Kang Ji Hwan and I hope you will do your (usually excellent) synopsis of Civil Servant Level 7 when it airs end-April.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one who thinks that it is pointless to post "first" on blogs. I find it annoying and childish and would really appreciate people exercising some restraint, especially seeing it so often on other blogs.

Maybe that should be the first rule if there were ever a compendium of proper etiquette on blogging. I'm sure it would be a hoot if you wrote it javabeans.

@samsooki I hope I didn't recommend Sweet Spy but I do have it and I find Dennis Oh to be the most annoying part of it. Otherwise, I prefer to watch the relationship between Nam Sang Mi and her captain develop because he's really cute. I also have a soft spot for klutzy female roles like Kim Sam Soon.

Dear JAVABEAN,

Can you hear me? You really got to cover CAIN & ABEL..if not, you will really regret it. Episode 5 is the turning point. Episode 1 is not what it seems.. This is THE DRAMA of the year. I mean in terms of acting capabilities, cast and storyline. BOF was one good one. This falls in another catergory. I really respect you and i guess you really don't have much time but please consider this. Music's great though. So Ji Sup rocks huge time here. He talks with his eyes. Do you need more convincing??? :)

@crzycpl
Ah, I thought Antique was actually quite good? And I'm not even talking from a fangirl POV. I was truly impressed with JJH acting and some scenes were just too hilarious -I still crack up even though I've seen it countless times already. And btw, I've tried to watch the Japanese dorama and I had to drop it after 4 eps cos it was boring, slow, it completely destroyed the manga and its main characters and plots whereas the Kmovie not only stayed true to the original manga, but was funny and touching in many ways (I love the guys' friendship even despite -or even maybe thanks?- to their constant bickering).

@Samsookie.

Oh good to know about Sweet spy. It wasn't on my must watch list to begin with and now? it surely never will be. Also? You really should consider a blog about the dramas you and your wife watch. Your comments are so nice!

@ Kobe and Samsookie.

Ok, Daniel Henney is no Robert De Niro, but there are worse actors out there, imho. The first time I saw him was in Spring Waltz (yeah, don't say anything. I don't even know how I got through ep 2 and 3, but whatever, not the point) and he wasn't bad. He was actually quite decent, a bit wooden sometimes, but not unwatchable. Then I saw MNIKSS and I kind of got why it wasn't love at first sight for many of the kdramas watchers, but still, I keep thinking there *are* worse actors out there.

On an unrelated note, I spent a good leg of a trip driving -well, my dad was driving, I was merely sitting there- beside a jet-black Ferrari. My first thought: the f4s would totally be envious of this guy. My second: why there were only Lotus-es on BBF? And my third: why am I even thinking of BBF instead of, say, enjoying the view of the Ferrari? Boys and girls, that car *purred*, there's no other way to put it.

@Samsooki, have you watched " Speed Scandal" ( or, Scandal Maker )?
It is done by the same actor, Cha Tae Won, as in "My Sassy Girlfriend". Very hilarious and good acting and good quality like "sassy".
I watched it after the news posted on dramabean's site that it might go Hollywood.
The next day after I watched it, I went back to watch again the next day .

I watched the "Sweet Spy" too. I got it from our local library ( I live in Toronto, Canada where the government supports multiculturalism ). Since the DVD is free for borrowing, I did not feel too bad about watching. You are right about Daniel Oh. I watched it only because of Nam Sang Mi ( first seen at Gourmet ).

@crzycpl, I also watched the "Antique" too. It is a closer adaptation of the J-Manga then the Japanese drama series. I like the interpretation of Kim Jae-wook as a gay character. Being a female myself, I wish I could possess the same charisma as his character shows.

@ kender: i love love loved QSS and Soulmate. They are both just so different than the typical kdrama i think. QSS i watched originally for Eric (so hot) and realized he was actually quite good in it... As for his character... yes he is the biggest jerk but at the same time, I can't seem to hate him? I think it's because though he does super assholey things, I feel there's a reason behind it and not just his own selfishness. But I think his character is just so complex that we can't just take his actions at face value. Does that make any sense at all? I dono - I can't express myself the way javabeans can haha.. And then there's Soulmate.. I was the same as you.. watching until I was scared I wouldn't make it up for work... it's worth it though... :o) Enjoy!!

Ah so rainy and damp in NYC. Perfect day to curl up and watch kdrama with a mug of tea.

#26 all4movies -if you like klutzy bumbling female characters you should watch "How to be a perfect neighbor". Don't be turned off by the strange title. Bae Doo Na is the queen of the offbeat, lovable crazy female protagonist and she is a great actress to boot and I find her simply mesmerizing to watch. The kdrama is not perfect so is not on my all time favorite list but it is really enjoyable to watch for its comedy, side character stories and the veteran acting skills. In addition it breaks some of the usual kdrama cliches.

Just a note it picks up after the first two episodes so just grin and bear through the set up story.

#19 smiley6y.. so glad you liked "Thank You". I think your like one of few people who enjoyed it. I found the story to be really uplifting and full of hope despite the premise of the story. Also the overall acting (even Jan Hyuk's) was really great. Especially the spectacular performance from the grandfather, the child actress and Gong Hyo Gin.

Javabeans, if you are looking for a random way to fill the void left by BBF, how about writing your own k-drama? You are an amazing writer, you care a lot about k-dramas, you could pick your own cast and find suitable screenshots (that is actually something I really appreciate about reading your recaps - that you find the perfect image to convey your message). Enough people have already said that reading your recaps is as good as (or better than) watching the actual dramas, so I don't think the absence of moving pictures would detract from the experience. And best of all, you could make the story go the way you want - no groaning, hair-pulling, face-palming because of an incomprehensible plot twist....... or to throw us for a loop you could put a few of those in. You could even make it so that some of your readers could participate by writing an "episode" - sort of like that old game Consequences. Just a thought.....

@samsookie...LOL!
I haven't seen this "Sweet Spy" but I'm curious now knowing that its SO bad:)
Anyway, I'm also glad that someone mentioned Denis O. because I am watching Witch Amusement(Witch Yoo Hee) and though I like it, I'm not impressed with him at all! As women, my friend and I "suppose" he's there for the eye candy but for me he's not even doing that. (Great thighs though...) So JB I was confused when I read that you were happy with the casting of this drama... I know that he's not the main lead but we see him a whole heck of alot. And I think that he's the only option for her...which is sad.

Anyway, I have another question for those who have seen it, did you want the main leads to actually get together? I mean, I find that this is the first K-drama, I think I've watched, that I don't really want these two to have a romance. I mean I won't care if they do, I might be a little disappointed but other than that I'm fine with it. Well, let me retract, I didn't want them to be together until all options were taken away(for me) in episode nine? I think I'm about to watch ten so, yeah.

Also anyone read the recaps? Should I read them to better enjoy(understand) the show? The worst thing about the recaps, JB, is that I'll read your recaps and not watch the show again because they are so good. The last few weeks of BOF I watched it raw and then read the recap. Love Marriage(which I really liked), I stopped watching ep 7. QSS, well I would read one recap and skip to the next ep, then gave up watching altogether. My Sweet Seoul, I only stuck with because Eun Soo pissed me off and my friend, whom I watched the show with, didn't read the recaps.

The two dramas I was actually good about was My Last Scandal and Who Are You, because you said to watch it! I was just reading and cracking up hysterically every week! So, thank you for the advice! You are absolutely right! You must watch to get the full effect. But I will say that reading the recaps made me watch!

Oh and I did want to say that I read your post on Witch Amusement dealing with Korean-English translations and quirks and it really did help with my understanding and intention of Yoo Hee's "eebwa," so Thank you!

Have a great Friday kids!

Hey, I loved Daniel Henney in MNIKSS! He had great chemistry with Jung Ryeo Won, I thought. You can bash Dennis all you want, but don't be dissin' my Daniel. ;)

I understand your not recapping Cain and Abel, but since I'm forcing myself to watch it I secretly wish *someone* would do recaps for it. That would make it so much more fun to watch. You wouldn't believe the things these characters do.

@30, Sere -

I am not saying, "Don't watch Sweet Spy." First, Nam Sang Mi is actually pretty good in it, so long as Dennis Oh isn't anywhere near the camera. Second, if you like Korean dramas, then you'll STILL enjoy it more than, say, another episode of Law & Order or yet another canned-laugh track sit-com. But, in comparison to the other k-dramas I've seen, Sweet Spy is now on the bottom. My K-drama rankings of things I've seen recently:

Must sees - these are special. From a cultural standpoint, from a joy to watch standpoint, from outstanding acting, just really, really good stuff:

1. My Name Is Kim Sam Soon
2. Coffee Prince
3. My Girl

Worth Watching - if you watch any of these, you will not regret the time and the enjoyment of it all:

4. Full House
5. Delightful Girl Choon Hyang
6. Goong
7. The Grand Chef
8. My Love Patzzi
9. Super Rookie
10. Save The Last Dance For Me

Mostly worthwhile, especially you like throwing things at the tv because the evil character is seriously evil through most of the series and you just want Kim Haneul to slap the taste out of the bad girl's mouth:

11. Bimil

Only If You Have Time and you fast forward through any scene with Dennis Oh:

12. Sweet Spy

***

@Kobe, @Sere, @ Fizzle - Yes, Daniel Henney is way better than Dennis. but, let's not put him up there with the best of actors. Must I remind all of you and force you to revisit Daniel's ludicrous scenes? "She has cancer! And I'm her doctor!" o.m.g..... LOL. How much better would Kim Sam Soon had been if they had someone like So Ji Sub playing Daniel Henney's role? The doctor role doesn't have to be an American with no Korean ability. It wouldn't change how I feel about MNIKSS anyway, because you can't do better than #1, but at least I can dream....

just watched the teaser trailer for cinderella man. think its kinda interesting. yoona didn't look so young there. but as i've commented before, i think its a messy situation. (ksw + ksw + sce) / yoona = MESS.

now the shift has gone to wednesday thursday dramas! after return of iljimae would be cinderella man..after cinderella man is TRIPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! yup, wed/thurs has upped their attraction zing.

jb, are u watching six months and swallow the sun?

i think 2009 has a lot of interesting dramas...more intense. how am i going to focus on my last semester???

#36: i LOVED bae doona's big eyes and wacky personality character in perfect neighbour and how she didnt end up with the first lead but the overall ending was a bit of a meh. but yes, i loved bae doona and tim's contribution to the ost. i find thank you nice as well, though the later parts got a little confusing and dragged a little too much there.

@Samsookie
I'm almost done with My girl and I'm halfway through Painter of the Wind and Who are you. MNIKSS and CP are my fave kdramas as well *g* Delightful Girl Choon Hyang and Super Rookie (your rec of a few days ago?) are on my Must watch list. I'm not so sure about Full House. Le grand chef...if you meant Gourmet with Kim Rae Won and Nam Sang Mi then, that's another one on my list. And if you were wondering, that list is ginormous. ^__^

"Only If You Have Time and you fast forward through any scene with Dennis Oh:"
LOL LOL I'll keep that in mind. Now, I just have to watch this just to see how awful he is. LOL

Hello Everyone, TGIF!

Beauty is truly a pain! Why, because on Monday, I decided to wax my womanly mustache the hour before I go in to work. No problem, I'v done it before. Well, I'm using the Nair wax strips and its says you can wax the same area twice but no more than that which I didn't do. However, once I am all done waxing, OMG I see that the part of the area I waxed (skin around my upper lips) was bright red. I had burnt myself!! Sh**t. How can I go into work looking like a clown!! What the heck went wrong?? I get into work, and I avoid looking into anyone eyes for fear they will see my awful red raw mustache. Everyone will know I was waxing!! Luckily, no one really paid any attention. Thank goodness. But throughout the day, it was hurting like heck. Man the pain was bad! So now its Friday, it doesn't look so bad anymore but its still very noticable. The area where I waxed had dried up but when I went to peel the scabs, it started to bleed. oops. Shouldn't of done that. Now, its red all over again. So my coworker gave me some beauty advice as to which foundation and powder to buy to help conceal the area. I can't believe I did this. I have a wedding to attend tomorrow. I hope the foundation helps alot.

Finally it' s Friday ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I came to work on Tuesday, but since I had just gotten back from Vacation, I was still in that mood. Now it's Friday and I don't come back till Monday. Although I still have to stay later today to do some work.
Anywho!
Have to tell you that I LUV this site. And I have to agree that when the BBF posts came up, it must have been crazy. There were times when I would check the posting at about 8:30 and there was already well over 100 posts. You must be very relieved that you don't have to go through that anymore.
But I have to admit, I will miss the BBF posts.
Luv Y'all. Be safe.
