Jang Geun-seok’s “Toucholic”

What is “Toucholic”? Is it some kind of disease? Or maybe a key characteristic of a middle-aged pervert stalker?

No, of course! It’s a song. To be sung by Jang Geun-seok (Beethoven Virus).

Jang is starring in the “music drama” (huh?) called “Yepptic & Haptic Love” (double huh??), which was released online on the Yepp site (yepp.co.kr) on February 2. The featured theme song “Toucholic” goes on sale as a digital single on the 4th.

In the music drama, Jang plays a character with a fixation with cleanliness (to OCD levels) who works at a book café. He shies away from the touch of people, but one day a woman at the book café grabs his hand, evoking a flutter of emotion. (Shouldn’t the song be called “Touchphobic” then?)

Jang Geun-seok has sung before (check out his track from the OST of Beethoven Virus), but this track, which takes on an electronica vibe, also features Jang rapping.

I don't know this guy but I read somewhere that he wanted to play Rui . I think he would have been a good choice. He seems very charismatic and confident. Could have been a good match against our fresh delightful & incredibly talented LMH. Sigh!!! Every time I watch an episode of BBF I can't help sighing. If only ..if only....
BBF had the makings of a great drama. S-I -G-H.....

I heard that he was the first choice for Ji Hoo (Korean version of Rui) as well. However, I'm glad that he chose a different project for a few reasons. 1) Why should he play second fiddle to Lee Min Ho? I love LMH in BBF. In fact, that was the main reason why I watched the Kdrama version but still...Heck! Forget Rui, Sukkie could have been Jun Pyo (Doumyouji) himself! He has the looks and acting skills. Plus, I absolutely adore tsundere/oranyan males. 2) I already suffered from second male lead syndrome with Hyunnie as Ji Hoo. I think he would have eclipsed and overwhelmed Jun Pyo even more in that role. 3) It might have been a waste of his talent as the role really didn't require much more than looking beautiful and pained (although Hyunnie was totally awesome sauce at that) 4) I was glad to see Hyunnie. Without him passing it up, who knows if I would have discovered my love for SS501.

maybe after he was touched by the woman..he became addicted to touch..like alcoholic - he just couldn't get enough...he became toucholic..hhahahaha...

thus he became addicted to her :-P

Although Touchholic sounds more like a name for something than Touchphobic, although Touchphobic does make a lot more sense :)

I'm glad he didn't go for BBF...BV was a nice choice, got to work next to the master KMM... I think he's well established enough (as an actor) to not have to jump on the BBF boat....should really leave it for those who need the push. Plus it would make it his ?th time playing the second fiddle not getting the girl again? I'm sure he would be sick of it by now....
He sang in the movie doremifasola ? too before? Rock style... he's not bad. Curious to hear this when it comes out

His character sounds like the Japanese Chiaki of Nodame Cantabile... Anyways, has musical dramas become a trend now? I hope its like a Disney movie where characters burst into song somehow. That would be fun if done correctly.

i've always liked Jang since Lovers in Prague & from then on have been an avid fan of his...I saw Do Re Mi...& he was good singing rock! I also think he did the right choice in accepting Beethoven Virus like moomincandylalala said Jang has already established his career pretty much. In Beethoven Virus he'd proven once again his acting skills and I just hope he does another heavy drama. I liked him also in Baby & Me....more power to you Jang. I can't wait to hear or get hold of this digital single he's working on right now.

i find the overall concept pretty cute, and the girl amazingly cuter,
but weirdly the song sounds too much like a twisted nobody
so is this a mix between the mp3 player yepp and the cellphone haptic?
