Executioners cast, Yoon Kye-sang to begin filming

Who’s ready for more Yoon Kye-sang (Who Are You)? His next film, Executioners, was announced late last year, but now casting has completed and filming is set to begin this month.

The 31-year-old actor has been cast with 28-year-old Cha Soo-yeon (The World They Live In) and plays a newbie prison executioner, while Jo Jae-hyun (New Heart) plays a veteran prison guard.

In the film, Yoon’s character begins his job with hopeful ambition to climb the career ranks, but as he begins his work, he begins feeling shame and despair. Cha is the supportive and optimistic girlfriend who tries to comfort him as he descends into turmoil.

The film is directed by Choi Jin-ho of Last Present and Quiz King. With one movie and one drama (Triple) planned for the first half of 2009, looks like this’ll be a busy year for Yoon, or at least I hope so.

this movie sounds really compelling. i'm a fan of korean dramas but not movies cause the movies tend to start out really interesting and turn kinda sour near the end. However, the plot of Executioners sounds like it'll be a roller coaster of emotions, and the actors are excellent so i'm excited! Jo Jae Hyun was wonderfully convincing in New Heart and i don't even have to elaborate on Yoon Kye Sang, do i? haha. I'll have to watch out for this movie, thanks dramabeans! (oh, and i'm loving that picture of YKS, but then again, when have i not liked a picture of him? haha. eye-candy is such a horrible and shallow word to use, but YKS definitely fits in that category.)

Funny, you happened to bring up Yoon Kye-sang.

I just started watching Who Are You as something to do in between shows, and it's a real hoot. Thanks for always tooting their horn.

it's amazing how Yoon Kye looks so young for his age! when i first saw him in a drama Sister In Law 19 i thought he was in his early 20s or late teens, he's 31 & he could pass as 25!! I also can't wait -- he's such a cutie! i'm so glad he's not stopping doing films or dramas like other actors who took about 5 or 6 years before getting back to work! all the best Yoon ssi

Never really knew who Yoon Kye sang was till I watched Who Are You?. He really impressed me with his acting in that drama. Loved how he was able to balance the silliness and seriousness in the show. Not only is he easy on the eyes but a talented actor as well.

I am ready, too. Since watching Who Are You I am really addicted to Kye Sang and cannot get enough of him by watching all his past movies and dramas. He has been a very good actor even since his debut. Hopefully he can get more recognition because he really deserves it, comparing to some other actors who can't act as well as he and getting all these awards. He can really play each of the character roles REALLY REALLY good.

i love yoon kye sang in all his movie & drama and i cannot get enough of him in WHO ARE YOU i really love the acting of yoon so funny ...... i'm so excited to watch the new series triple ....
