It's all so horribly cheesy and I just can't get past the title.

No offense, but it looks depressing. I stopped watching the MV in the middle, because I couldn't take it anymore. I like Kwon Sang Woo, and I wish he'll be paired up with Kim Ha Neul again in a comedy or action film. lol. The woman (Lee Bo Young) is pretty though.

I think it's the title which is stupider than stupidity.

The story seems pretty self-explanatory: Kwon Sang-woo and Lee Bo-young are in love, but for some reason she marries Lee Beom-soo instead.

I really need some laughs so this movie will not be my choice then ...

Kwon Sang Woo always chooses these types of roles.

dull and dull, i must say, not a fan of the cast or weepy cliche plot

I agree - the MV basically gives away the entire movie. *Spoiler?* KSW and LBY are in love (and probably knew it each other since their school days) but unfortunately, KSW has a terminal illness so he decides to give LBY away to a good man (LBS), because we all know that she can't survive without a man by her side when KSW dies. And thus, the reason why LBY decides to marry LBS. instead. However, she'll probably find out about KSW's illness sooner or later and goes to be with him until his final moments. The end. *end of spoiler* Hopefully something trippy will happen.

because kwon sang woo's character is sad.
He has stomach cancer,so he lets lee bo young
marry lee beom soo.

i heard han eun jung( full house ) is the female lead
but han hye jin( jumong ) is also choosen to be kwon's

I don't think korea's film industry has had any recent box-office hits with melodramatic / tragic plots and with good reason. They've been done to death in films and series already and with a title like "story sadder than sadness", there's just no way I'm going to run to the cinema to watch this. With the way the world economy is, do we really need to fork out more money to watch a story that is sadder than sadness? And pray tell, what can possibly be sadder than sadness??????

I'd be rooting for Lee Beom-Soo anyways. Go Lee Beom-Soo! ^_^

I really enjoyed the movie though. And I love the OSTs. Especially Lee Seung Chul's 'No One Else'.

for you detractors you are all idiots...first of all it's a literal translation of the title so it won't carry the same meaning when translated into English. Next, the fact that it's a melodrama may seem cliche, but no more so than the pathetic irony that is Hollywood. It's a tragic love story no different and yet as time-less as Romeo & Juliet...self sacrifice in the name of love...how can that be "90's"? Lastly, even the critics who went in expecting another cliche film about love and death praised the film for its ingenuity and though the cancer role seems repetitive in Korean storylines, it's something all Koreans can relate to. So make your invalid and ignorant statements, this was a GREAT movie and have yet to find ONE Hollywood film or drama that could compare in the least with Korean films/dramas...hence why they're the most popular form of international entertainment.

The movie look really good. I like the plot but the title is just so cheesy, in English I guess? I don't know. They should totally rename it, something unique and interesting to watch, grabbing our attention and that fits the movie.

Where to watch the movie? :( The one i bought at the CD store was like another version of the movie or something? I'm confused. And the subtitles sucks cause they directly translated everything so i didn't really understand the story :(

O_O Omigosh. What? I'm so confused o_o. I just watched the movie yesterday--LOVED IT T__T It was soooooo sadd >O<. I don't want to give anything away.. but the movie shows what happens when you keep your feelings to yourself.. T___T. So sad...

But anyway. O__O These scenes weren't all in the movie @__@ though. What on earth?!

Before seeing the film, I read the post here and the title 'A story sadder than sadness' put me off but in the version of the subtitles I saw the title was different -'The color blue' or something.

I didn't watch the clip above before I saw the film and am glad I didn't it as it would have put me off even more. I just caught the first 5 seconds of it now and had to stop it. (This clip wasn't even in the version I saw but I could see how it would fit.)

If you like tear jerkers definitely get this movie. Don't forget the tissues.
