Lady Castle (possibly) marks Yoon Eun-hye’s TV return
by javabeans
I add the caveat that this may be Yoon Eun-hye‘s television return, because the last time her comeback role was announced (the my-gay-roomie-is-faking-being-gay-and-really-likes-me project Personal Taste), it was then retracted.
This time, the project to potentially follow her last drama, 2007’s Coffee Prince, is Lady Castle. Her character is the middle sister of three, all of whom live in a “palace-like” mansion and know nothing of the world outside their bubble. Yoon’s character becomes entangled with a (you guessed it!) poor man who joins the household.
Lee Kim Productions is behind the project, and explained that other than Yoon, the rest of the casting has not been decided. They are currently looking at several Hallyu stars to cast opposite her and hope to get the drama on the air in the first half of the year. However, the drama series has not been added to broadcast schedules yet. Lee Kim Productions faced problems after their spat with actor Park Shin-yang‘s pay for War of Money (oh, what a prescient title) forced them to leave the drama producers association. While the production states that this poses no problem, the drama does not yet have a broadcaster.
If the project goes through, this will be Yoon Eun-hye’s first acting project in two years.

Yay YEH! From this very brief summary, I'm not that attracted to the storyline (sorry - I still suffer from CP hangover) but hopefully with a good cast and PD this could be something good. Assuming it goes through.
Sidenote: happy inauguration day America.

Finally, a good news from YEH. Hoping that the production team can work it out with TV broadcaster, so we can see YEH act again in small screen.

The plot sounds a little like Princess Lulu except the guy is poor, not a rich man from a rival company. I don't want YEH to play the clueless protected rich girl...I want her in spunky roles! Oh wells....as long as she returns to dramas, I'm happy.

I think there's a lot of potential to this. With the right cast, and the right script it could be excellent. Do I still want Personal Taste to be made? Oh yeah. But this could tide me over : )

This actually sounds really promising. But I guess it all depends on what they do with it~ (sounds like this online fic I'm reading actually. But that girl ended up being the product of incestuous rape via her mother's father raping her mother.. Yeah, maybe not so similar). Personal Taste sounded like the Queen Mother of awesome drama premise, finding out that wasn't happening was a bit of a kick in the gut. But good luck to her, it's weird that after the success of Coffee Prince, she spent a year and a half doing random CFs and random songs and not much else~

Today was such a good day! President Obama's Inaguration (awesome speech by the way) and now the (hopefully good) possibility of a drama out of Eun Hye.
I going to bask in my happiness for a little while longer before my homework comes knocking...

yeah i agree with everyone
personal taste sounded great while this has potential sounds kind of overdone..
i think i've had enough of the rich girl/boy and poor boy/girl plot lines~
but i still hope she does something soon
and i hope whoever styled for CP will style her in the future
the clothes were the best that i've ever seen in any K drama
i hope they keep that fantastic style going

I dont understand why people say the plot is overdone, when this isn't even the final synopsis. I say judge after you've heard more details about this drama. The details is still scarce at this point for they haven't even casted the other 2 sisters yet and the guy, so it is way too soon to pass a judgement.
Just like with food, you dont know it's good until you've tried it first.
YEH is known for making great choices. When people heard that she was casted for Goong they said it was going to be a flop but the opposite happened and that propelled her to stardom.
When people heard that she was going to take 'The Vineyard Man' which competed as the same timeslot as Jumong, they said it's going to be an epic failure, then the opposite happened again...she won her first Best Actress award and managed to get the rating to double digits.
When people heard she was going to take Coffee Prince, there were also speculations that she would fail but again, she proved otherwise winning Top Excellence award in MBC and Best Actress at the Baeksang.

They should hire Park Shin Yang to play opposite YEH. The association should lift the ban against both the production company and Park Shin Yang.

"They should hire Park Shin Yang to play opposite YEH."
Doubtful that will happen, but they're talking about matching her up with a Hallyu star.
Jo Ji Hoon?
Rain?
Jang Geon Seok?
Lee Min Ki?

Kang Dong Won and Lee Seung Gi will be the actors for this drama
KDW, as the article mentioned above, will play as the poor man joining the household. and LSG's role is the son of a very wealthy family. these three will have a love triangle. [information taken frm LSG's thread on soompi]
really hope javabeans will update the details of this drama when it comes to shoot :)
i'm excited to see LSG coming back to screen as an actor after his miss for the drama Iljimae...
