whoa, surely You love Rain, dear Javabeans? :D
i read about the fight between CJS's brother and ex-husband, and I feel sad and sorry about the kids. They still don't know anything about their mom, and later when they'll grow up they have to face these stories - parents divorced because of domestic violence, mother suicided, father and uncle fought for the custody and property's rights. Huh, not such an easy life.
I hope everything will end up better for the sake of the children.
And Park Sarang! cute!! But I still like Jung Dabin, where's she now? Will she still cute?

djes, it's more that there is a TON of "reportage" on Rain right now. He's really milking the promo machine for his latest album.

i hope shinji gets well soon!
CJS's poor kids. I hope CJS's brother and mother wins the custody battle. How could they let the kids go back to a guy who doesn't care about them? He might have relinquished his parenting rights to Choi Jin Shil but if he had really cared about them, he would have asked for some rights back then. For the past month Choi Jin Young had been taking care of them and i bet they had helped ease each other's grief too- how can that deadbeat dad suddenly waltz in and take that away?! Those kids had probably been with their uncle and their grandma more often than their dad- they'd be more comfortable just staying with them.

what are Korean's laws on child custody? automatic right to the parent left standing? I would love to know! but maybe this is not the right place to ask this kind of question?!

Like the poor bewildered kids have not gone through enough already! :((
Bloody sad. Custody issues and the law in general.
And fools who think they know best - include those law enforcers.
Stablity and maintaining familiar status quo so the kids can at least feel a sense of grounded SECURITY and SAFETY should be the TOPMOST priority for anyone who cares for them.
Esp in light of their recent turbulent world that has kept changing on them.
seperation-divorce process, its unpleasantness and ugliness -> momentary peace -> then suicide and no mom -> no dad ~ suddenly dad.
WTF???
Or simply - just ask the kids who they want to be with.
Unfortunately - oftentimes it's not really about the kids' interest or any humanity.
I think most countries DO default parenting to the other parent left remaining. The other parent (deadbeat or otherwise) has more 'rights' to their children than '2nd tier' relatives.

Effing Jo Sung Min!!!
He only wants the kids so he could get CJS's money! I think the fact that he was practically a non-existent father in the past four years should testify that he's not fit to raise the children. If he really loved them, he would have been more involved following the divorce. Or, better yet, he wouldn't have been a horrible husband and father and not leave them in the first place!
He's remarried and everything, and I feel that if the children were to be with their father, it would be uncomfortable and frightening for them; they're suddenly living with a dad that they don't know very well and some stranger lady who's their new stepmom.
I really, really hope that they remain with their uncle and grandmother. I wonder what the laws in Korea concerning these kind of custody issues say?
I wish that CJS would have thought a little bit more about her children before making the decision to end her life...

i hope Choi Jin Young & his mom get the kids & the assets. this Jo Sung-min guy is so horrible, didn't he say he was unfit to be a parent but instead wants to control the money that would eventually go to the kids? he pretends to be kind showing up at the funeral, but his intentions were to control the money his ex wife worked so hard for, making sure his kids don't get a dime. he's re-married? what unlucky woman wants a guy like him? since Jo Sung-min is a deadbeat dad, he's lucky to have an ex-wife who was able to provide for his biological kids financially & emotionally. this guy should just go away, he's getting PR for being scum. the kids of Choi Jin Shil will be taken care of because they have their uncle & grandmother.

I cracked up when you talked about Bada's response to the people who asked her to bring it by her saying that "It's already been broughten." LMAO. And the comparison between her having a slightly bigger foot size to her being obese. Hilarious.
It frustrates me to think that a judicial system that claims to be for justice would even allow a deadbeat father like Jo get custody and property rights from his wife whom he divorced years ago. It just doesn't make any legitimate sense. Okay, I get that the two children were conceived 50% by your genes, but that doesn't give you the automatic right to be considered their father if you have never done anything fatherly for them! According to today's interview by Choi's mother who has spoken to the public for the first time, after Jo released a statement that claimed that he is only doing this for the kids and that he doesn't want one cent of Choi's millions, she said that Jo never once came to visit the children since the divorce, let alone pay a cent of child support, or buy them a birthday present. What an incompetent father, and for him to now suddenly claim his right as the children's father, or let me be more precise, to think that he has the right to get involved in the matters of Choi's money that will eventually go to Choi's two children when they become of age is absolutely ridiculous. Just leave it to Choi's mother and brother, and stop trying to get involved. It's so blatantly obvious that you're only interested in Choi's money, especially since you said that you would be willing to give up the kids but not the property rights, which is basically the same thing as all of her money. Ugh, I can't believe there are people like this. I really thought they only existed in dramas.

ji - "he’s re-married? what unlucky woman wants a guy like him?"
That "unlucky woman" that you're referring to is a Miss Shim. Funny thing is that I think she's even worse than Jo. She's a "sool-jip madam," which is basically like the owner of a liquor bar (it usu, more often than not, has sketchy connotations). So, I guess they're both a match made in heaven. Oh, and I'm almost sure that she's the reason why Jo and Choi split because Jo had an affair with Shim, Choi found out about it, Choi got mad at Jo, Jo hit Choi (while she was pregnant with her 2nd child), etc.
In today's interview with Choi's mother, she stated that during their divorce, Jo asked Choi to quickly sign the divorce papers because he needed it in order to get married to Shim. Also, when Choi's aunt set up a meeting for Jo to meet his kids, Shim would tell Jo to change his number so that they can't call him, and that he didn't even show up at the meeting to see his kids. Shim is the last person that Choi would want with her kids, I think even moreso than Jo.

[Jo asked Choi to quickly sign the divorce papers because he needed it in order to get married to Shim]
Have read comments too that he'd apparently given up all custody in the first place during their divorce in exchange for Choi shouldering all debts incurred in marriage.
I mean ... a dude that is willing to give up his kids (!) just to avoid paying any share of financial responsibility incurred during marriage. (and I believe those were HIS debts too).
Choosing money over your kids, that's what he chose to do in the first place.
I don't care what the law says. Do what's right for these poor kids. Put THEIR best interests first. It's stability, security and love they need in this chaos.
The courts are damn blind and conscienceless if they don't take all these into consideration.

This was a dude who make that conscious decision to give up his kids in the first place, for monetary reasons.
I don't care what the law says.
Just do what's right for these poor kids. Their world has been turned upside down too many times already. They need security, stability and love at this point, not more drama.

@ Ji, jillian
omigod.... CJS mom's account of CJS's husband bears an uncanny resemblance to her cheating husband's character in Last Scandal.... wonder if they wrote that just for her to throw it in that guy's face... even tho she is gone, the drama will always be there to reflect what an a-hole he is.
Some pple really have no conscience and no shame.
I'm not a Rain fan or hater, despite Rain's overuse of his sob stories and "unrevealed" scandals ( I guess he has the right to use them as much as he wants- they are his true stories) and questionable lyric writing skills, I hope he'll succeed cuz It's almost painful to watch how much he is really desperately trying to get his fans to "come back" to him...(maybe it's all an act...)

During the CJS coverage (Entertainment Relay ran footage for two weeks . . . yup, cried big time through the whole thing), they showed footage of a beaten up Choi Jin Shil having to address the media. She was purple, swollen all over, etc. Not allowed the privacy (basic decency, really) from the press, she had to explain to the vultures what happened. She was beaten savagely; and then she was humiliated savagely.
For anybody interested, Youtube user ladolcevitaaaaa (a reader of your site!) has many clips about the funeral and happier days.

Oh and apparently, a Lee Hana fan too. A clip of Hana covering Fields of Gold. Hipster Trivia Question of the Day: whose interpretation of Sting's classic is she performing?

Enough seems to have been said about the Jo Sung Min issue, so all I will add is that it disgusts me. Choi Jin Shil did however get out of the abusive relationship, get a divorce, and try to get her life together, which was an inspiration to others while she lived. I hope that the legal system makes the right decision now and gives strength to single parents everywhere, that will again be thanks to CJS. A dead beat dad does not an automatic parent make. I don't think CJS could ever have imagined this would have happened. And it is ever so obvious that all he wants is the money....I mean, the main issue that brought it all up was the 'third party managing the property rights.' Sure, good idea. That third party should NOT be the ex-father who gave up his children happily.
The rest of the news bites really made me laugh: thanks! Awesome =)
And I have to say...Yay KRW for being such a considerate individual. I can't imagine most actors of his status who deserve the fame and wealth saying no to it out of concern for the industry and the movie makers. Could he get any better? :)

I heard an article said that an agency would plan next fan-meeting for 5000 persons. But I personally think 2200 persons are enough, I prefer a smaller meeting & A meeting with 5000 persons is too impersonal.
This time (The fan-meeting), I was surrounded with the people who were not real fans. Real fans could be patient for you, but they couldn’t…so I had to hear some their bad words about ...
We (real fans) want to welcome you in a cozier atmosphere.
