Your Pieces by Tablo
by javabeans
Tablo‘s previously announced collection of short stories, named Your Pieces, is rousing strong interest.
According to the publishing company, internet pre-orders started last week, and the volume shot up to the top 10 in just five short hours. Over the weekend, it occupied the top seller spot — and the book isn’t even out yet.
The book of short stories officially goes on sale on November 4 and bears story titles like “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Vacation,” “Mouse,” “Matchbox,” “Hate Crime,” “Andante,” and more, which he’d written prior to his Epik High days when he lived in the States.
As for the stories themselves, they cover a diverse range of material: a rift between father and son, love and pain, and other vaguely described themes (seriously, “love and pain” can describe just about anything). Of particular note is “Andante,” the story written while at Stanford and praised by author Tobias Wolff, who’d been his professor when he was pursuing his master’s degree in English literature.

Fine, I'll join the chorus...
...original English versions? Please? Consider it an educational opportunity for Korean students, to compare the original English to the translation.

When I read that Tobias Wolff was his professor I was like 'OMG CONNECTION', because Mr. Wolff was a speaker at my boarding school my freshman year. i remember his white mustache, and the whole school having to read 'old school' in anticipation of his arrival. GOOD STUFF.
I would love to get my hand on Tablo's book someday, I'd love it even more if there was an English version. Or, his book could be the first I read in Korean. YES indeed.

Yes! English indeed!
His work is always so poetic, I can't imagine his free reign without having to rhyme.
This should be absolutely great! I simply can't wait.
whoot! Go Tablo!
