Lee Hana’s first onstage performance as a singer
by javabeans
It’s well-known that actress Lee Hana (Women in the Sun) is a music lover who enjoys singing. She’s the daughter of a songwriter and had early aspirations to become a singer before switching to acting.
She showed off her voice again on October 18, taking the stage in front of a thousand fans at the Grand Mint Festival 2008, an outdoor music festival showcasing a diverse mix of indie and rock bands, with a dash of club rock, bossa nova, and indietronica.
In her (first-ever) onstage musical performance, Lee Hana sang eight songs total, including a number of classic hits like “September” by Earth Wind and Fire, “Close to You” by the Carpenters, “Basia” by Astrud Gilberto, and “Fields of Gold” by Sting. I’ve noticed she has a taste for old-school folk and rock, so perhaps it’s a good thing she didn’t try her hand at debuting in the world of overprocessed kpop.

I hope Entertainment Relay gets to cover this year's GMF. A few weeks ago, they ran a (funny) short covering the various autumn college music festivals around. Here was the promo for this year's Grand Mint Festival.

Ahh to have one extremely lost weekend in Hongdae, Sigh.
Ah I love Lee Hana (Lee Na Young meets Kim Ha Neul? you MUST love her!). She played the role of struggling artist in "When Spring Comes" as authentically (when she performs, her face says "ahh no audience tonight again . . ") as I've seen it. Which is to say, she was one too, a struggling bossa nova singer who can play multiple instruments, when she eventually gave up and switched over to acting.

Lee Ha Na's surely has great voice...
You can listen to her voice in the MV link I post below :

I made this MV by taking the clip from her drama Merry Daegu Attack and Defense Battle where she sings and Ji Hyun Woo plays the guitar. It's unplugged version so we can listen clearly to her voice.

Aw, I almost wish she did have an album because I think I would love her to sing folksy stuff. Maybe she'll do an indie album when she's tired of acting.
And what's with the pants under the dress? I was really hoping we were over that fashion statement. Blerg.

I always remember this girl's singing in "when spring comes", she got this really soothing voice and i love it. I thought "wow, an actress can sing this well..."
And it turned out that she has a musical family background. It'll be great to see this girl releasing an album of indie music, i'll definitely support her. She grows a lot on me since ''when spring comes", i love her character in that drama and also in "women in the sun". Awesome!
