Gong Yoo’s goodbye message to Lee Eon
by javabeans
Gong Yoo, friend and Coffee Prince co-star to Lee Eon, was late (but not absent) to pay his farewell addresses to the recently deceased actor, because he’s currently serving active military duty.
On the 22nd, he wrote a message on his personal homepage offering both a goodbye and an apology to his colleague, featuring a picture of Lee Eon from Coffee Prince days. The note read:
“It’s strange. The night before you left us, I happened to listen again to the note you read on the radio for me to listen to while I was in training. So I thought of you suddenly, and I missed you, and I wanted to call — I should have called. I should’ve nagged you, too, to change that persistent ringtone. I’m sorry.”
Gong Yoo arrived at the hospital’s funeral room a little after midnight on August 23. His other Coffee Prince co-stars Yoon Eun-hye, Lee Seon-kyun, Chae Jung-ahn, Kim Jae-wook, Han Ye-in, and others all visited the previous day.

*sigh* i love gong yoo. and that whole shoulda-woulda-coulda must be just persistently gnawing at him ;-( [and I'm sure other family/friends of Lee Eon's have felt similarly...].
You know, this week's been kind of a downer for me since hearing the news of his death (which is strange since celebrity deaths hardly ever affect me....). But it has..... and it totally sucks. *sigh*

so sad,
it's so sad for Lee eon family and friends, shocking and suddenly...
oh my god, what they can do with his memories...
his sweet smiles and his kind face...
his chivalry sense in Coffee Prince and Who are you... I can't forget them.
I think he had 3 or 4 dramas in last year, outstanding acting for a rookie in entertainment world but...
Rest In Peace

I was on a CP-rerun marathon this past week...was finishing up the last episode when I heard the news. I tried to watch the special, too, but it just hurt every time he was on-screen.

Reading this really made me cry. I've been trying to hold the tears back after hearing of his death because i just can't believe it. I'm still in shock. Now it's all sinking in....I was almost done with finishing 'Who Are You?' and it's going to be really sad seeing him on the screen.
Now we're left with 'what ifs' and 'could haves'
-sigh-

before I'd wish that all the CP stars would come together again. seeing them together horsing around, enjoying life makes me happy. It's weird.
I never imagined it would be for this reason.
I'm so sorry.
i feel like I lost a really close friend.

Thanks. I was wondering if he was able to visit or attend his friend's funeral. I am sure there are regrets of what ifs. Good luck to his family and friends.

Gong Yoo's message makes my eyes well up with tears. Reflected in it was the suddenness of Lee Eon's death and all the "I should have"s- things you wished you had done with or for this person while he was alive.

it's good to hear that gong yoo's been there to visit Lee Uhn's funeral... i appreciate them, treasuring their times when they work together and made some good relationship to each other as a friends.
may Lee Uhn rest in peace...

It was a wonderful farewell message...not too cheesy yet piercing.
I missed you Gong Yoo...but I know that we are now missing Lee Eon deeply. :(
