Well...First of all, the non-Catholic partner does NOT have to convert in order to have a valid Catholic ceremony with the Catholic partner. The non-Catholic partner simply has to promise to be open to having children and must also agree to let the Catholic partner raise the children in the Catholic religion. That's really all they have to do. And this works out just fine with many, many couples like this where one partner is not Catholic.

Even if the Catholic partner is not very religious, Catholics generally like to have a valid Catholic ceremony in a church.

The only reason I can think of why a Catholic would not marry in a Catholic ceremony is if the person they are marrying is divorced. Has this lady been married before? I didn't see that written anywhere.

But you could be right...they may be having the ceremony in a church and the reception in the hotel. I hope this is the case. But I was just going by what the article says, "Wedding to be held at hotel". Well, we'll find out in a couple months, right?

Honestly, I think he's a great actor, a nice guy and fantastic looking. But I don't think I could marry him. Really. His attachment to his mother is something I would not be able to tolerate. I'm almost scared for his new wife. But, if his mother is a wonderful, wonderful lady then she deserves to have people attached to her!

Here's an odd theory I thought of on the whole "wedding in a church thing." They've been getting a lot of harrassment from the media, as noted in the higlights it sounds like. Not to mention reactions of fans towards this news. So its possible that maybe they announced it at a hotel because they knew there would be an audience. I predict its a pretty large place. Also by saying its somewhere like that media, nutters, etc. wouldn't concentrate on checking out the possible churches to harrass them further. Not to mention the people at the churches themselves wouldn't have to drown in all of this. Which means they could, possibly, seek out having a very small, private ceremony a day or two before with no interruptions (dam, this sounds like it could be a drama all on its own). Then, since they'd taken the step already, it might make the three ring circus of the public wedding feel much more managable to some degree.

Gah, that still sounds garbled, but hopefully that's just me.

It could also just be there's a chapel or something there. Or he's not quite that religious. Or got permission somehow to do it in said hotel since a priest of said faith would be still overseeing the ceremony.

No one would ever admit it was a shotgun wedding, even if it was. So I chuckle over the mother defending that its not since it could still be possible.

I bet your theory is right. Private ceremony in appropriate place away from maddening crowds. Public ceremony or party at more public place. Actually, it would create a good diversion.

Celebrities have their rights too. KSW has made his decision of his future wife.
Right or wrong that is his choice, his right, and his life. At this point, his fans
should just wish him best of luck! One thing though, he should've revealed
the news after the trip to Australia. What was he thinking of announcing it at
his birthday in August with the wedding date already set in Sept.?!

What's funny though is I thought of this because I've had a classmate do something along those lines. Her husband was shipping off soon to the Sandbox, and that has all sorts of possabilities, not all good. So they got married secretly (very few know, like their parents) before he first got shipped out. They still have a date they told everyone publicing meanwhile that isn't here yet. And we're talking secretly married I months and months ago, while the public date is just starting to come up.

I don't know why, but it won't let me edit. So pardon the bad grammar I'm not allowed to fix right now.

I will be in mourning until September 29th. Let me know when its over.... :P On a more serious note, I do wish them well. Begrudgingly, but its the same sentiment nonetheless.
